Apple's latest Photo Stream beta outs iPhone 5 design

An icon on Apple's latest beta version of Photo stream shows an unusual looking Apple iPhone with an wider screen and an elongated home button; it all sounds exactly like some descriptions of the upcoming Apple iPhone 5...

I hope you realize that for the last 3 models, SAMSUNG has produces up to 35% of the hardware for iPhones. There are bound to be similarities. Apple is in the intangible/creativity business, SAMSUNG engineers actually make it happen.

This is an Apple post, did you forget? Your the one who should f**k off. And what he said was pretty spot on. Samsung copied iPhone and now iPhone is copying Samsung? No Apple is just making another iPhone. I'm not saying that Samsung is a copycat, but if there were to be a copycat, it would still be Samsung

I phone (iPhone) losing ground to the screaming hordes of Android phone makers and how many Androids phone have died in the battle against the iPhone? Just go to your fanboy post and shut up then if you dont like it. I love my Evo but I use Mac computers. Dont care for the iPhone but if it was garbage as it is said to be it wouldnt be the phone everyone is trying to beat all the time.

wow at least use proper grammar when you're full out hating on Apple.
"we're all android fans here and no one have any is**t device, so f**k off!
Yea you need hooked on phonics........
And I think you are referring to the word "meaningless" in the English language.
Ridiculous man go get schooled in the language first before trying to bad mouth.

yea that home button is clearly a rip off and if its a trackpad rim, HP, and htc should all sue.

i bet it doesnt have that ugly back though.
4. Whateverman (Posts: 3206; Member since: 17 May 2009)
"a stretched out home button that helps you use gestures to navigate the phone". Is me or does that sound like a "Trackpad". How will that be any different from the trackpad used by HTC and RIM? Would be really interesting to see how it works.
12. Whateverman (Posts: 3206; Member since: 17 May 2009)
Very true, almost forgot about the HPs.

Looks like a generic phone icon to me. Also, where did you get "3.7 inch screen" from that rendering?
34. remixfa (Posts: 13913; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
from the angle of the dangle.. of the home button?? lol
nope.. no idea.
all i know is 3.7 is total FAIL. :)
48. iwebdroidberry7 (Posts: 230; Member since: 17 Jan 2011)
Yeah you need at least 5 inches to shove up your.... nevermind I'll behave.
9. ledbetterp3 (Posts: 466; Member since: 31 Aug 2011)
If they don't release the specifications for this soon, i'm not gonna wait for this when my upgrade comes! Why do these things have to be kept private for so long!?
13. hmminteresting (unregistered)
dont know why you would want to get this phone.. there are soo much better phones coming out... this is barely an upgrade from the last iphone lOL. its just the name people are just going to get it b/c its the iphone 5 not even going to be LTE LAME.. go ahead waste your money on a pointless upgrade on this ................
16. ilia1986 (unregistered)
Here are the specs:
1Ghz A5 Dual core processor.
3.5 - 4"max display 640x960.
5 - 8MP camera.
Probably 1Gb of ram.
This cannot get any better than that. Thanks to Apple blowing it's business relationship with Samsung that is.
Oh and we still will have iOS 5. No Widgets no live wallpapers no nothing.
18. Commentator (Posts: 2429; Member since: 16 Aug 2011)
Samsung will go where the money is, regardless of the current legal animosity between the two. If they see that they can make hundreds of millions of dollars selling screens and processors to Apple they'll do it. However, if Samsung sees that they'd make more money investing their resources into their own ventures (Bada, the Galaxy line, etc.) then Apple'd have something to worry about. For now though, the iPhone's apparently underwhelming specs are a result of Apple thinking it knows what's best for consumers better than they do.
19. ilia1986 (unregistered)
Which it does not.
20. Commentator (Posts: 2429; Member since: 16 Aug 2011)
No, it doesn't, but its marketing department has done a very good job making people think otherwise...
24. ilia1986 (unregistered)
Yes.. but we - the smart people - see the truth. Even some of those of us - like myself - who use an iPhone.
I hope that the rest of the world will realize this truth - that deep inside, Apple is rotten.
25. E.N. (Posts: 2324; Member since: 25 Jan 2009)
It doesn't matter if its 1Ghz, 1.5 Ghz, Dual core, or single core, it will still be just as fast if not faster than some of the top Android devices (based on how fast the iPhone 4 is already).
I don't think a 3.5 inch screen is the best, but I'm definitely glad that Apple is being conservative with the screen size and overall size of the iPhone. As of now, my iPhone 4 is still a device I can put in my pocket and go for a run and listen to music. Can't do that with an Evo.
Last summer, iPhone 4 sported the best (or one of the best as some of you guys might argue) cameras on a phone. I'm sure they'll make good improvements.
Don't know too much about what the ram will be. Again with the widgets. As if live wallpapers is reason to buy a device.
26. ilia1986 (unregistered)
E.N. please take a look at the Nokia 1280. It's also a very fast phone, despite it having quite a slow processor. But it's got nothing in terms of graphical appeal, right?
28. E.N. (Posts: 2324; Member since: 25 Jan 2009)
Wrong. I honestly think its sad that the iPhone 4 processor is comparable to dual core Android handsets. What's the excuse?
29. ilia1986 (unregistered)
The "excuse" is the fact that Android is much more intensive - processor and memory wise - with widgets, live wallpapers, actual multi-tasking, various tweaks, and all.
That's called "Software advancement". It's been happening in the electronics industry ever since.
Maybe you'll claim next that all of these things aren't really needed. Well in that case - go ahead. Use the Nokia 1280 then.

apple diehards always brush off anything that isnt in an apple as "unimportant". Then when they get that feature 3 years later they act like its the greatest thing ever.
Trust me, when u get widgets, the new notification system, maybe even one day real multitasking and the slew of other features that your missing, you will put face to palm and be mad at yourself for making yourself wait so long for those features. Then you will start looking around to see what else youve been missing and you will open your eyes to a world much more advanced than iOS.. and never go back. most people never go back.
for all the new features that your about to enjoy in iOS5, you have an android to thank.
37. ilia1986 (unregistered)
remixfa - the problem is - until iPhone users will get it - we will have had star ships for personal transportation, and bacon ice cream for dessert. Only then the iPhone 56GS with 700MP camera will have these things. Somewhere in the 24th century.
38. remixfa (Posts: 13913; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
duck dodgers in the 24th n a half century laughs at the iphone 56 and its non holographic interface!

spot on my friend. icrap is so yesterday. i am surprised the new phone doesn't come with a pair of bellbottoms with an apple logo on the crotch. hahahah! and an enter here area on the ass with a green robot. haha. iphone sucks balls. a track button? didn't my grandpa's bb 9700 have one of those? damn!! what happened to creativity in queerportino?
46. darth8ball (Posts: 519; Member since: 02 Aug 2011)
Apple doesn't have to excite anyone. Put a bitten apple on the back call it the iPhone and the fanboys and fangirls will buy no matter what the specs. Those of us who care about specs will buy another OS and device and thus we look for specs iSheep look for release date so they can set up their tents and buy whatever is in the box
14. Tako (unregistered)
Jeez why not just take a screenshot then post, rather than the moronic method of taking a photo of a screen then posting?
At least then we might be able to see the actual thing the post apparently references....

Hey, go easy, this article was done at like 2 in the morning. People don't always think straight that late. Also notice the title of the article: "Apple's latest Photo Stream beta outs iPhone 5 design," as though this is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the real deal. Normally, PhoneArena would at least throw a caveat into the title, such as "Apple's latest Photo Stream beta POSSIBLY outs iPhone 5 design." Something tells me the editors here need some sleep...

(Although, for all I know, Alan F. lives in a place where it's the middle of the afternoon right now. I should really be less presumptive, especially in this every-changing global marketplace of ideas called the internet.)

Epic fail by Apple... I was considering the iPhone 5 but its hard to go back under a 4" screen.
27. ilia1986 (unregistered)
You know if iOS actually had widgets, it might have been bearable.
But nooooooooooooooooo. They are Apple and they know zeh best!!11eleven.

can't apple make anything better ?
That is too much like the iphone 4, and by the way i think that new design looks ugly, as it is very wide.

i love all you Apple Haters. I just find it funny how you all find your way to support the iPhone news faster and in more volume than any other posts. I would like to say thank you.

Every single concept design of the iPhone 5 has been really ugly, which is too bad because I actually think the iPhone 4 has a really nice looking design. I hope everybody's wrong about this.

Apple ripped off the round button for original iPhone, off Samsung SGH-Z610 introduced February 2006. Which was the first fully gesture based Multimedia Touchscreen Smartphone that included both front and back cameras.
So now they're doing it again for iPhone 5. But they'll never be able to duplicate all the technology and innovation inside a Galaxy SII's screen or processors even after ripping off Hummingbird and renaming it A4!
Now Samsung is the first ARM fabricator to 28nm/32nm in a phone. SGSII HD/LTE in S. Korea is the phone using the newest Exynos 2nd revision Advanced Processor. Fabricated on their new HKMG Gate First technology. First in the industry and clocked at 1.5ghz on CPU with an outrageous 400mhz clock on it's Quad Core Mali GPU.
While still running at 30% greater efficiency than the first Exynos. We won't see any other phones on market like this till next year. Because TSMC's Gate Last HKMG process has hit some giant speed bumps. Mainly because their technology is from Intel who no longer own a ARM license!
Consequently they have to ground up design and fabricate an optimization package for their ARM at 28nm. TSMC only does Half Node stepping and have no cross licensing agreements with IBM. The proven leader in fabrication of computer silicon along with being the most heavily patented corporation on the Planet! ....Apple should have never left IBM. Now they will finally start paying the price for this costly mistake on ARM!!! ;-p
