Apple's Jony Ive buys a $17M house in San Fran
0. phoneArena 20 Sep 2012, 00:28 posted on
Apple is a hugely profitable company, and Jony Ive is the design genius behind many of its most iconic devices, so it shouldn't be a surprise that he is an extremely profitable man. So much so, that Sir Ive (he has been knighted of course) has purchased a new home in San Francisco for a reported $17 million...

On a related note I have to give Ive credit, the iPhone's design is simple, but sexy. There are only a few phones that look this good, such as the DROID RAZR.

only android designs that can compete with the iphones are really the Xperias, htc's, and yes...... the Razrs

I like old fashioned house, it's like living in old age. Jony's mansion looks nice too but $17 million is a huge amount of money. Well then here's the nice investment of Jony Ive, so sad for ifans, apple employees live in comfortable lives at the expense of ifans pocket. But it's not a problem for almost all ifans of apple, anything apple selling to them, they will buy it coz it's from apple. Just saying...

Not impressed, I've seen better for less money

Its with the billions they "won" from Samsung and the money they stole from the American consumers.

So...he buys this home and meanwhile....
The private wireless company that i'm employed under has to cut employee commissions and has even laid off some workers because the Iphone is too popular in our city. Sprint, Verizon, and ATT pay a lot more for these iconic devices so they pay my boss less for each sale (upgrade or new line). Once he gets paid, I get paid commissions. It's been less and less each time.
We always see LG, HTC, and Samsung Reps at our location. Not Apple. Why would they ever hold sales contests or doing anything for the industry and THE WORKERS that actually sell their product.
I know that people love these devices and MP3's, online music stores, and personal computers are that much more popular because of Apple. But i'm sorry, I can't help but read this article in disgust because this month 2 workers were laid off and 3 quit because they couldn't afford the payout adjustments. All because people have to have the Iphone.
It's a great phone...but F*CK that phone.

that really is a shame man......and its really all because people are soo media influenced by apple to the point where they really have no choice but to buy the newest iphone.......sorry for every thing but hopefully things will pick back up for you soon..... peace n God bless :)

I quit because pay out sucks. Sales are hard enough, but when we sold iphones we'd get paid like $20. Compared to $50-75 and up for a 4G android. People say iphones are easy to use but those are the only customers that come back because they can't figure their phone out. Not worth it.

We get alot of reps visiting us almost weekly with infos, sneaks peaks, advice or to take any suggestions or problems we may have with their handsets. Also htc, sony, nokia, samsung etc all run competitions and prizes for carriers staff as a thank you for selling their handsets.
Can you guess the one particular phone manufacturer which doesn't send any reps to carriers and also doesn't provide any prizes and competitions for carrier staff???!!!.....................You guessed it,Apple, they don't send any reps out because they don't care what we think or about any issues sales staff may have, and Apple don't want to give any money or prizes away they only want to suck the money inwards.

Apple earned 70% profit by taking the easy road while Samsung HTC Sony work their ass off to earn that last bit of 30%.
Yet apple still behave like a spoil brat complaining and taking them to court.

Good luck to him and the house is nice too... But who is he??? Ya... He is the one who said "Apple is NOT working for money" and he is right the enormous money is actually working for apple in courtrooms and patent offices... He is correct...

All this money earned by 'designing' pretty much the exact same phone for a couple of years running, its incredible the money ifans have handed over to apple. No doubt the 5.9 billion spent on iphone repairs over the last couple of years has also buffed up his salary nicely!

Wow, this is news? I have an idea PA. When there is no news about Apple, let's talk about nothing. Let's talk about Al Gore who is on the Apple board, and how much of a hyrocrite he is. Maybe someone just traded their car in for a new lease, can we investigate that? Maybe one of them has planted some new flowers at their house.

Maybe it's time to design new cables, and then release adaptors for extra charge...

WOW! thats a cool phone -_-... don't get me wrong, its a nice house but why is this article on PHONEarena.
33. downphoenix (Posts: 2134; Member since: 19 Jun 2010)
Considering how little work his design team has done since designing the original Iphone (and arguably, designing that phone itself given that it copies off the F600 and Prada), he's made a pretty penny.
34. rusticguy (Posts: 2810; Member since: 11 Aug 2012)
Now an article on his wardrobe collection please PA. If you ask me this article deserves no place on a tech site. It's nothing but APPLE SPAM.
