0. phoneArena 29 Jun 2012, 18:45 posted on
Judge Lucky Koh has awarded Apple a preliminary injunction against the Samsung GALAXY Nexus; Apple will have to post a $96 million bond and Samsung will most likely ask for a stay on the order which revolves around four patents Samsung allegedly infringed upon with the handset...

If the iPhone gets banned over copying Android's notification center, will Apple deserve it too? Did Apple deserve the ban in Germany over stealing Motorola's cloud technology?
The double standard here is astonishing.
128. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Apple isn't banned in Germany and android doesn't even have a patent for their notifications. What would be great is if Apple can patent their notifications center and go after Google.
132. Sniggly (Posts: 7291; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
See? Right f**kin' there! You actually don't give a s**t about who copies who. You just want to see Android burn, you little s**t. I am screencapping the s**t out of that remark, you worm. Any time you try to act self f**king righteous about Apple's lawsuits against Android, I will bring that remark up to remind everyone that it's not about copying, it's about you wanting Apple to make Android fail, no matter WHAT the f**king cost.
134. ilia1986 (unregistered)
It's useless Sniggs. He will just claim that Apple's notification center is unique and infinitely better experience than the one on Android.
Don't let this pathetic Apple-licking troll get to you, my lord. Steve Jobs himself once said that "The bad guys rarely win". Ironical of course that he never realized that the very company he himself founded is now the bad guy...

Sniggly, Taco50 it all over this site bagging Android, he/she reads all about the magic Android brings to the industry and killer devices produced which rival laptops. So, Taco is either stupid, employed by or has a financial interest in apple (shares, app developer, paid to blindly promote) so don't let the few invalid points that keep getting thrown up get you messed up.

Sometimes...I like when your true colors come out...reminds me who I'm dealing with.
Your notification comment says it all
257. tedkord (Posts: 7628; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
iCloud and MobileMe were banned in Germany. I haven't seen anything since that it was reversed.
And, Android has a patent pending for the notification bar.

Apple fans are like spoilt rich kids who can not stand other kids in the playgroud getting better cool toys. They show their tantrums, because they are not the center of attention anymore. Good character for new hollywood movies, cheesy.

This is good news for all who actually invent something! Keep on pursuing, Apple! Wish you good luck!

yeah, can't you see that Steve "thermonuclear blow" Jobs is dead?
he didn't invent things, he copied and stole things.. Sthieve Jobs..

I will never buy anything Apple untill they start changing their strategies. I don't mean just legal strategies.

"Apple’s risk of suffering irreparable harm"
For a company that raked in more money than Wal-Mart last year I think it's pretty safe to say that Apple hasn't "suffered" at all from any of these "infringed patents" that they keep whining about. Plus Apple is no stranger to making their own version of somebody elses idea/product (Maps, iMessage, notification shade etc)
184. networkdood (Posts: 6330; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
Ironic that a company known for stealing and copying is accusing others of doing so.
194. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Apple is known world wide as an innovator. Only people who think Apple steals is Internet trolls.
195. networkdood (Posts: 6330; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
No, the facts are out there and you like to ignore them. Apple is an excellent marketing company, though.

Ironic comment from the Internet troll who ignores all the facts about Apple's greatness.
201. Non_Sequitur (Posts: 1111; Member since: 16 Mar 2012)
Apple is all marketing, like networkdood said.
What the hell has Apple ever innovated?
Apple. Didn't. Create. S**t.
207. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Nexus has an injunction because of Apple's innovation. Proof is in the very article you're trolling in.
230. bayusuputra (Posts: 961; Member since: 12 Feb 2012)
so tell me in detail what exactly has the Nexus infringed on? I bet it is something that apple had the patent for, but stole from others before it..
289. jroc74 (Posts: 5595; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
How DARE you try to inject rational and logical posts into this iFan circle jerk. Whats wrong with you!!!!
182. parkwaydr (Posts: 572; Member since: 07 Sep 2011)
The only way to stop this at this point is for Google and all android manufacturers to start lodging anti competitive complaints against Apple, or this is just going to keep getting worse. Apple has the upper hand in the states because they are an American company. And that does play a huge part in court decisions.

apple is the best at dirty business
nobody can beat them
187. networkdood (Posts: 6330; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
APPLE has made and is making tons of money, but do to their phones not having market share dominance, APPLE sees Android as a threat where on day Google makes more money with their products Play store than APPLE's itunes. APPLE remembers what happened when their company went under years ago and wants to ensure that it does not happen again.
Anyone know what patents were supposedly infringed on? I am curious to know as APPLE thinks their ipad design is original when facts are out there to show otherwise.
188. sithman (banned) (Posts: 299; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
As an iOS, and android fan but more of an iOS user. All I can say is why apple, why are you doing this? Why not jus go back to the lab make a better phone, and compete with google the old fashioned way. Apple sucks for this lack of fair play. U blatantly rip off androids notification system, but sue over a silly patent that's used by everyone. I like iOS... I really do, but I'm starting to slowly dislike apple due to their practices. I'm buyin the gs3, but the jury's out on the next iPhone. From a loyal soon to be ex iOS user if this crap keeps up. Android is making strides cuz of their lab work, their gym work. Apples the fat couch potato that keeps saying android is only making gains due to being on steroids. Get off ur ass apple and hit the gym.
191. parkwaydr (Posts: 572; Member since: 07 Sep 2011)
That is the most clear headed and intelligent comment I have ever heard from an ios user.
Finally at least one of you can see thru the bs.
238. sithman (banned) (Posts: 299; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
Yes apple is full of bull. I hate this anti competition stance they take.
211. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Apple is hard at work in the lab also, but Samsing is ridiculous copying every detail of the iPhone. Apple deserves to be able to profit from their innovation without others stealing it.
213. networkdood (Posts: 6330; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
You know what you posted is very far from the truth. Your love of APPLE has blinded you from what is being done. I feel sorry, kind of, for this Taco guy/girl.
232. bayusuputra (Posts: 961; Member since: 12 Feb 2012)
nope, samsung did not copy the camera interface that only has zoom slider and HDR function..
It made it better, by million years..
and if you start telling me that iPhone has a better camera, then f**k you, it has the same sensor made by Sony..
239. sithman (banned) (Posts: 299; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
Taco I agree but this is ridiculous cuz apple copies too. Good artists copy great artists steal. The words of one Steven A Jobs
267. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Everyone builds on others up to a point, however Samsung goes out of their way to copy Apple.
Why do they have to make the S-voice interface look just like Apple?
268. darkkjedii (Posts: 16208; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
The fact that Samsung made s voice look like Siri is kinda the point. S voice, google now, Siri... Y sue over tech that everyone's using. What if interstate sued dura last cuz the cells r the same in the batteries or ford suing Chevy cuz the vette and mustang have the same spark plug points? I'm an iOS and android user and a fan of both platforms, but this is getting crazy and we the customer are getting screwed.
290. jroc74 (Posts: 5595; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
I'm just SO GLAD Apple isnt in any other industry. We would all be royally screwed.

enjoy this moment while you can C**PPLE. remember, nothing stays forever.

If APPLE is successful at blocking all smartphones, I would never buy their inferior product....
196. networkdood (Posts: 6330; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
Very interesting article on APPLE:
"there is the story of Greg Hughes, a third-year computer science student who contacted Apple in May 2010 about an iPhone app he created; a wireless sync system that would allow your phone to sync with iTunes wirelessly. Apple rejected the idea claiming it was a security risk, so Hughes has been selling his app for the last year on Cydia, an online store for "jailbroken" phones.
When Apple recently launched iOS5, WIFI Sync was one of the big selling points that Apple has pimped the hell out of.
Greg Hughes was shocked and upset with the news about the Sync on iOS5. "I'd been selling my app with that name and icon for a year. Apple knew about it as I'd submitted it to them, so it was surprising to see that they had pinched it for iOS 5.” Greg Hughes is getting legal advice on the issue and plans to follow this up. "At the end of the day you have to stand up and defend your work," he said."
Although, since APPLE is not an open-source OS, this guy may have no case at all. But, it is the principal of the situation.

Really? No one had a tablet until the iPad came out. I rest my case. Not even going to bother reading your link.
233. taz89 (Posts: 2014; Member since: 03 May 2011)
just cause on one had a tablet before the ipad does not mean apple invented it...apple just made the tablet popupar...making something popular does not mean inventing
248. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
No Apple made the tablet BETTER and that's why people buy iPads.
253. tedkord (Posts: 7628; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
Well, they made it weaker and cheaper. The original tablets ran full Windows with Intel x86 processors. They were as powerful as a laptop of the time, whereas the ARM based tablets today are much less powerful than laptops today.
However, just because they made it better does not make it any less stealing and copying.
234. bayusuputra (Posts: 961; Member since: 12 Feb 2012)
your comment really showing your arrogant and ignorance..
I had tablet PC when Pad still means sanitary pads..
you are really f**ked up.. LOL..
241. tedkord (Posts: 7628; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
At least you're consistent in your absolute lack of knowledge. Microsoft had tablets many years before the iPad. In fact, Steve Jobs admitted he stole the idea of the iPad from Microsoft, after he talked with an MS employee about their plans for tablets
249. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Yes Microsoft had a tablet that sucked and no one bought.
252. tedkord (Posts: 7628; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
And you stated that no one had a tablet before the iPad. Once again, you spouted off when you had zero knowledge. Just like with user agent spoofing and screen resolutions.
And, Steve Jobs stole the idea for the iPad from Microsoft.
Hmm. Steve Jobs stole...it's amazing how many sentences start like that.
291. jroc74 (Posts: 5595; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
No, correction....ppl had tablets before the iPad. They just werent as popular until the iPad.
And since the iPad looks like a Surface copy....I really think you and your fellow iFans need to get off the copying kick.
214. networkdood (Posts: 6330; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
The guy clearly did invent it - APPLE did not invent a tablet or touchscreen - they merely were the first to mass market the device to the poor masses.
198. networkdood (Posts: 6330; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
Taco, this stuff is easy to find and shows you how APPLE did not innovate. Stop it with the nonsense.
217. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Apple has patents which PROVE they innovate. Apple is winning in court which also proves my case.
Sorry ill listen to official government entities before an Internet troll.
224. networkdood (Posts: 6330; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
Having a patent but not using such a patent until someone else does something similar is not innovation.
Unified search, how entries are auto corrected are not really innovative.
Now, FACE UNLOCK - if APPLE can prove that SAMSUNG used theirs on SAMSUNG phones that may be win for APPLE.
APPLE is not interested in getting money from SAMSUNG, but cutting into their profits and delaying phone releases.
MY DROID RAZR has face unlock and I am curious if that is different from SAMSUNG/APPLE version, and if so, then how.
235. bayusuputra (Posts: 961; Member since: 12 Feb 2012)
how do they get the patent in the first place? they paid the patent office of course..
254. tedkord (Posts: 7628; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
Patents do not prove innovation. Many of Apples patents were bought off the real innovators. Many others were simply prior art which they stole and slipped past the patent office (Slide to Unlock is the prime example - they stole it from Neonode)
265. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Sure they did man. I guess Apple has some back door method for patents that no one else knows about. Either that or you're a clueless troll.
272. tedkord (Posts: 7628; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
No back door, the patent system is just broken. At one time, a patent required something specific, non obvious, and new. Software wasn't even patentable, as patents couldn't be just concepts.
But, with the sheer volume of patents these days, the office can't keep up with them. They can't do the research needed to find that slide to unlock already existed before Apple patented it. And, the people there aren't tech knowledgeable enough to determine if a software patent is valid or non obvious.
If the patent system were like this 30 years ago, there'd be no Microsoft Word. One of the early word processors could have grabbed a patent on, "A method of entering, formatting and storing text on a computerized device for printing and archival." Hell, there might not even be an Apple, as the early developers of operating systems could have gotten a patent for any layer of computer code that passes instructions from software to the machine.
The system is broken, but Apple is the only complaint unethical and hypocritical enough to take advantage of the flaws to not have to compete. Because they can't.
293. jroc74 (Posts: 5595; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
You mean some patents they tried to sue for and they lost the case?
They just lost another slide to unlock case in the UK.
Every judge isnt as blind as you to Apple.
