Doods, What's with all the infantile hubris???? Apple makes great phones, so do other manufacturers. Hopefully Blackberry will come back, and guess who is better of? We all are!!!! If it weren't for Samsung, Moto and others breathing down apples neck, Apple would just be another microsoft, and then you would see just advertising gimmicks, like you see from microsoft now. 64 bit processing is quite an achievement, not an advertising gimmick. If you go to the imagination store and spend a buck, you can see what's coming down the road. The phone will replace your computer. You'll just walk over to your desk, your phone will connect to the 27" flat screen and kb/m over bluetooth, and you're cooking. If apple didn't exist, Samsung wouldn't be making great phones. Look at the crap they made before apple got in the market. So doods, relax, take a valium and lie down.

These pixels are only 100 millimeters larger than in the iPhone 5. That's not a huge improvement.

What? I didn't understand. 100 mm? The whole iPhone isn't that wide.

I would not say that the pictures that Apple released in their launch event were not tinkered with in any way but if the jellyfish photo is for real. That'd be impressive.

Looking forward for a comparo with Z1 and 1020

They didnt talk about camera on the event, except for 4K recording, so no should be exactly the same as the S4

It's gonna take great photos, won't be a shocker. But the tech angle they took I found to be amusing. Very unJobs.

One thing everyone can agree on is the iPhone has always had a pretty good camera. If they improve the night time photos further ill be happy with that.

So that “much larger than most competitive phones” line applies to the Galaxy S4 and...yeah, that's about it.

And the tons of other phones that are not listed.

The article covers all the major flagships except the G2. And out of those, only the S4 meets Apple's claim. That's enough for me to call BS.

"That's enough for me to call BS."

Or, Gimmick. Personally, I think gimmick is more applicable.

You could call the 2 µm HTC pixels a gimmick, too. Most don't. But comparing 1.5 µm to "most of the competition" when they're at 1.4... that's some serious spin.

I feel it's time for another Nokia fight commercial with these comments going on. Lol! Yall better hope Microsoft doesn't unleash something big with this next update to make it par with ios or adroid and a ton of apps drop at the same time.

this year iphone already not the top in smartphone
most people already "love" to other device like LG G2(most perfect smartphone, atleast until today, best all section), lumia 1020(atleast for its camera,3-axis ois, i know here got many wp haters), xperia z1(really huge improve from last flagship xperia z,but not my taste XP i not sony fans),htc one(also a nice device great design)

iphone 5s and note 3 , both is just same like old year model, just add some feature, improve cpu, same design and more....

just my opinions and also sorry for my broken english :(
welcome for correct me

I'm glad they are focusing on the larger pixels rather than more MP. I'd much rather see everyone compete to have the largest sensor possible than this highest mp possible. 20-40mp pixels on a camera phone are rediculous. We are getting well over the diffraction limit resolution. IE physics says the pixels are useless even with a perfect lens. Even pixel binning is a waste with the ultra high resolution as you lose some surface area every time you subdevide. 4x small pixels does not equal one larger pixel covering the same area. In reality we should stop around 12 maybe upto 16mp (I'd have to redo the math sometime) Just for example the pixel size on the HTC is about the smallest useful size. For a 2 micrometer pixel, and apeture above 1.4 is wasted. Most camera phones don't get even down to f2, so you're looking at a airy diameter sevel times the pixel size on a lot of phones. However you can get upto about 2-3 the airy disk before it becomes a real problem with a perfect lens.

Except it's not. It's obvious you know nothing about cameras or photography. 1.4 to 1.5 is a 14.8% increase, and it will make a huge difference. The improvements may not look like much on a press release, but the 5s will take better pics in normal light better than every flagship, and better low-light than all but the 1020.
