Apple to sell Pride Edition Woven Nylon band for Apple Watch; part of the sales go to LGBTQ groups

23comments

Apple has long supported the LGBTQ community and has even before CEO Tim Cook publicly announced his sexual orientation in 2014. That news barely created a ripple which shows you how far the world has come. Unfortunately, there is still a long way to go, which is why Apple is donating some of the proceeds of its Pride Edition Woven Nylon Apple Watch band to LGBTQ groups such as GLSEN, The Trevor Project, the Human Rights Campaign, and PFLAG in the U.S. Out of the country, ILGA will see the same donations from Apple.

Last year, Apple handed out to employees a similar band during Pride 2016, and started selling the current Pride Edition band during WWDC 2017 held earlier this month. You can now find the accessory on sale at Apple's online store. The $49 price is the same for both the 38mm and 42mm sizes.

According to Apple, 500 threads are woven together to form the rainbow pattern on the band. Want to show your support for the LGBTQ community? Purchase the Pride Edition Woven Nylon band and you'll not only support these groups by wearing the rainbow colors, you'll also be partially responsible for the donations that Apple is making from sales of the band.
