Apple has paid $10 million to a Japanese IP company to license some patents that were originally created by Palm and PalmSource, which created the PalmOS PDA operating system; the patents are now owned by Japan's ACCESS known as ACCESS Systems Americas, Inc.; Micrisift licensed many of the same patents back in October 2010...

WebOS is the best multi tasking phone operating system.
So bad HP, just threw this priceless treasure like crazy children.

That's what happens when you don't listen to your customers and keep releasing the crappy form factor pictured above.
Oh, and releasing a WM5 handset didn't help at all.

BB10 is right on par with WebOS. I sure am enjoying it. It is what Android should be, but unfortunately, Android will never be as slick or powerful.

I'm guessing you have owned fewer smartphones in your life than I have in the last month, so go troll someone who doesn't know any better.

Dammit Hem, I can't make up my mind! The new Nokia Lumia 928 rumored to hit Verizon by the end of this month, or the Z10. Any advice?
I definitely prefer the hardware of the Lumia in terms of screen, camera, speakers, and other potential goodies (super sensitive display, wireless charging). I don't need or care for a ton of apps, but I do need a good navigation app. At the same time, I can't help but just wish WP8 was built like BB10 from a core functionality standpoint!

They licensed them. Didn't buy them. Apple is just able to use whatever tech the patent cover, without being sued for it. They can not use them to sue.

Wow!! Good ol WebOs!! I owned an original Sprint Palm Pre since launch day and had it for over 2 years before I had to jump ship and get the E4GT.. And I agree, hands down best multi tasking operating system period! So disappointed Palm and HP dropped the ball on this one...

I sense some freshness to iOS soon. It might be needed.
