yeah apple and att sold a ton of phones but what people don't get is that they are pre-sales. i don't know anyone with a 3GS in their hands, just a reciept that promises them one when they finally arive in the stores. like all premiere handsets like the storm, pre, and g1, there is a shortage. apple uses this stragety to boast numbersso from a public pov, it looks huge. no doubt this is going to be an extremely hot phone but they are twisted numbers. duh.

Are you sure or are you just saying that. I mean just because you say that you don't really know anybody with a 3G S doesn't mean that what you sad was true. But if you are speaking based on facts, I still don't see how this is twisted. The article said 1,000,000 sold and not 1,000,000 sold in stores.

I guess that's not bad for being available in 21 countries or 11 countries or whatever... I guess in comparison, the Pre's 100,00 units in 1 country isn't to bad either...

The 1 million sold is impressive but if I am not mistaken, the 3GS would be available in the US, UK and Canada on the same date. What is the number for the US? The total number is impressive but what did it do in the US, no offense to UK or Canada.

Wouldn't it make sense to just but the Iphone 3g, and make sure you have the new 3.0 software. To me the hardware in the Iphone 3g S isn't really much different. Faster processor, a little better camera. I guess some people just have to have the latest Gadget.

I'd say the opposite. To me most of the things that really make 3.0 worth it are the upgrades you get with the hardware of the 3GS. I'd agree that the changes aren't that drastic (I really would of like to see the matte black back if nothing else) but video, auto focus, the compass (which as silly as it seems I think there will be a lot of good coming out of it), and the voice commands seem to be such a part of the 3.0 software that without them it doesn't seem like you're getting the full "experience". 3.0 on just a 3G (or touch) seems like iPhone lite.

of course.........apple does it again........ should have really made a small design change

I agree. I would of like to see something different (again look back at the matte black rumors). Its honestly one of the things keeping me from getting one. Of course if apple sold a million in 3 days I don't think they really care about my aesthetic sensibilities.

The only thing that's really worth going out to purchase the S is the 32 gigs to extend one's library. Why shell out 299 for the same device, I just don't get it. Maybe make another phone, maybe with a keyboard or something. In the last two years if you bought in on the hype then you spent over 800 bucks in upgrades to get features that comes with most phones anyways. There's an app for that!

I thought the same thing, and how many people really need 32 gigs of storage(not me). The Iphone 3g S is still far behind, in camera, and video capabilities, compared to its High End competitors. To me it would have been nice if I could have changed the physical design a little bit, so I could tell the difference. Oh well

Compared to it's high end competitors in other countries. There's not that many phones in the U.S. With good cameras. I would have bought the 16gig if the design was different though.
