Apple says it would pay $1 per Apple iPhone to Motorola to license FRAND patents

0. phoneArena posted on 31 Oct 2012, 19:07

Attorneys representing Apple have told a U.S. District Court in Wisconsin that the Cupertino based tech titan would be willing to pay up to $1 per iPhone for the right to license some standards-essential patents; if the court orders Apple to pay more than $1, the company says it will fight...

Dude, you are just an idiot. No nice way to say it. You and taco probably share a room in his mom's basement, even if you aren't one and the same.......

Your post had literally nothing to do with my post detailing why you were wrong. Motorola is entitled under FRAND to at least some license. Apple's refusal to pay anything, as well as how much Apple SHOULD pay and the consequences for their refusal to pay anything, are the crux of this issue. Maybe Motorola asked for too high an amount initially. 2.25 percent of 600 bucks works out to just under 15 bucks, which is about half of what Apple wanted out of Samsung's hide for relatively small and questionable patent violations. However, Motorola is entitled to something at least. They developed the tech, and Apple wants to ride on theirs and everyone's shoulders while trying to bury anyone who dares jump off of their own shoulders.

All that aside, your argument is dissonant with the letter of the law. You can't argue against that.

Apple is certainly losing popularity on all fronts , keep it up, even your customers are seeing how you play dirty and deliver Jack S#it to the industry.

Frand should include rectangles with rounded corners. Has apple forgotten that Motorola has been making phones forever and helped pioneer the industry long before apple thought they owned the world? If apple can get awarded over a billion dollars for something stupid, then they should pay through the nose for tech that makes their phones functional.

Also...has apple ever gleefully licenced any of their 'tech' to anyone for just a dollar per phone?

and yet, they Apple will likely ask for $100 for the patent if they owned the patent.

Apple, you're a p¡ss off sh¡t!

Apple doesn't get to set the rate and then threaten with legal action if Apple doesn't get its way.
