0. phoneArena posted on 30 Apr 2012, 21:58

We all know that a lot of the stories we see on a daily basis aren't anything all that interesting or surprising, but there's something about that news cycle that keeps us coming back. And, one of those things may be one word: Apple...

So funny... but it's true. Make it as a headline in every newspaper lol

Apple should be ashamed of this, instead of investing it on it's own country, the Chinese are enjoying it. Reaping a lots of money from American people but few apple could provide jobs for it's own people. Manufacturing it's products in the US could provide jobs for American people. It's so selfish, they want only profits without thinking the welfare of it's fellow country men, the two must be together.

I can't help but feel the irony of the comic strip is lost on you...

both are true. apple is a big proponent of hurting people, but yea if you throw apple in the news, people read it.

so you should also stop buying samsung, lg, sony, nokia, htc etc. since they are not american companies.. and coming to the topic its true everybody is always after apple but they dont realise that its not just apple all other companies like samsung also treat their labour the same way..they are not paying them in millions to work or anything..

9. remixfa posted on 01 May 2012, 08:43

there is a difference between not being paid much.. and not being paid even that much while having to endure slave like conditions like in an apple factory.

all the companies pay pretty much same..dude i'm an indian and i pretty much know how the labour is exploited in asian countries..its just apple is one of biggest company at the moment thats why its always apple..you'll probably realise it when some other company becomes as famous and rich as apple and then it would be that company who'll be in news all the time for under paying their employees..

You're pretty much spot on I reckon. I'd say anyone who believes that Foxconn et al treat staff making Samsung products any differently to staff who make Apple products are incredibly naive.

Sadly, greenlighting Samsung et al to use "slave labour" as a sleazy opportunity to criticise Apple not only shows that the poster actually doesn't give two hoots about the conditions of workers, it also detracts from the effectiveness of actually making pay and conditions better.

Sony, Nokia, HTC, LG, etc ... however started in other countries and have their base in those other countries. So it would make sense that those companies pay a different US tax rate, and probably much lower.

With Apple starting in the US, it certainly does leave a bad taste in ones mouth.

With that being said, there is nothing Apple is doing that is illegal, so there is not much to whine about. If you had to choice to hire one of two individuals, both had the exact same skill sets, but one would cost you much much much less to employ, who would you hire? You can't knock Apple for doing the same thing you would have done.
