Apple request to halt U.S. sales of Samsung Galaxy products denied

A judge denied Apple's request to halt U.S. sales of Samsung Galaxy devices in the States, making sure that the outcome would not be similar to rulings in Australia and in Germany that banned the sale of the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 tablet...

maybe the judge didnt get the memo on apple's "approved" competitior designs? How dare she not allow apple to ban anyone that uses a square, bezel, or a white or a dark color!

yes, but apple said that they shouldnt have the screen centered in the front bezel either, because only apple should do that.. lol ridiculous company.

All this really is getting ridiculous, I mean there is a limit to how far Apple can b**ch about Samsung's products being successful.
Granted, it wasn't exactly the smartest thing for Sammy to do, with the menu button placed squarely in the center, but this is completely insane.

Samsung had that center button in phones before the original iPhone.
It was on an ugly ass phone, i´ll give you that, but the center button was not invented nor is property of apple.

fanboys forget that phones existed before apple.

This is funny as hell. So I have to ask: is Apple in the right anymore now that their requests are being denied?
I think I already know what answers I'm going to get, and from who.
Good work, Samsung.

Really? So you rather them copy Apple instead of be innovative?
22. Sniggly (Posts: 7305; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
I would rather they be innovative. However, I would rather see them evolve their products to be less like Apple's without being banned for vague resemblances. They didn't copy Apple enough to deserve to be kicked out of the market.

Ok but can you be even handed and be upset with Samsung for copying. Anyone that has two eyes and an open mind can see Samsung is copying Apple.
31. Sniggly (Posts: 7305; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
I was annoyed with them copying the elements from Apple that they did, because I sincerely think that Samsung can do better (after all, this IS the company that came out with the Alias and Alias 2, both awesome phones). However, I don't think they blatantly copied Apple to the degree that anyone need be angry with them. Hell, even their commercials now aim to differentiate their products from the iPhone.

You mean like when Steve Jobs said “We have always been shameless about stealing great ideas.”
So why is it ok for Apple and not anyone else?

Apple Board: We must think of a ridiculous idea to bash every Android/WP7/Symbian/Bada/Blackberry device from around the world so we can have all the money and fame for ourselfs!
Judge: Apple you went too far GTFO!

People: Apple is getting ridiculous!
iPeople: You normal people are far from our supirior Apple products! When will you learn that what Apple does its best for everyone!
Me: Cut the f**king crap nothing should be banned if people in the region want it more that the stupid iApple s**ts.

cApple is a new word for crazy Apple inc. tried to banned the sale of Samsung Galaxy line in the World because of similar looked and feel of cApple products. How about cApple used and paid cheap for Samsung components for 4 years and sold high made billions dollars in profit, cApple should said Thank you to Samsung instead of filed Laws suits for similar looked.
Any companies that supplied and assembled for cApple will be suing by cApple in the future.

These kind of battle will not bring any good benifits for customers. But if you closely compare products from various manufacturers with Apple product then you can see that Samsung product are little closer to Apple product than other manufacturers. But making product almost similar to other manufacturers product is not illegal.

I wouldn't say I wish they were gone... the flame wars are amusing and their competitiveness helps drive innovation; it's just that the innovation takes place in other companies. ;-)

I predicted about a month (maybe longer?) ago that Apple was not going to win all of their patent infringement lawsuits. That is starting to happen. In about 24 months, the litigation burden combined with a mixed record in the courts will produce increasing pressure to settle the patent fight and move on to doing business. Even Apple is going to want to move on. Steve was the primary driving force behind Apple's litigiousness, and he is not around to keep the pressure up.

finally a judge that actually has sense...now the fanboys are going to cry this isn't final ruling which is true but that didn't stop you going on about apple getting injunctions in Australia when it wasn't the final ruling...didn't know I could hate a company so much lol.

I dont see the fuzz about the Galaxy Tab is not even selling as expected.... so is ok to let Samsung sell the overrated Galaxy Tab.

You're wrong it has 4% of the market. With Apple only having 65% Samsung is a huge threat.
