Hahahahahahaha.......... Thanks phonearena and Victor, for supplying me the funniest joke of the day................ It really made all my stress disappear.
Apple was innovative in 2007 with iPhone, and in 2010 with ipad, but being innovative in 2012.....!!!!!! I really doubt it........

Whats wrong with this image and the article? The first image doesn't show Apple in the list at all, and the third one shows Apple in 1st but ranked 53. I'm a little confuse..

If I read it read, it's pretty much how the company does on their profit margin?

If that's the case, it will change soon as Apple have to find other resource for their products soon. And tells you how much the consumer are getting screwed by the company.

So can someone really break this down to me like a 5 year old, cu it don't make sense at all. And it seems phonearena always to find something positive about Apple, are flip the the sides around

Honestly though, they were pretty innovative in reinventing the lawsuit.

ok, the infograph is the third one - it shows Google spent twice as much on R&D...
wow, my the looks of their iPRODUCTS (APPLE), maybe it is time they spend their R&D more wisely. Then again, their marketing team deserves a raise...

Most Innovative? Huh yeah right. Their crappy iPhone still looks the same after 6yrs still haven't change. I don't see them innovation all they do IS PURCHASE other companies thinking they CREATE IT BUT THEY DON'T. But Look at Google. THEY MADE GOOGLE PROJECT GLASS NOW THAT'S INNOVATIVE. I think these so called analyst are a bunch of idiots they only say that cause their the richest company in the world. Plus may i remind this guy that they STEAL OTHER IDEAS like they STOLEN NOTIFICATION bar from ANDROID now they even patent a GOOGLE like glasses called EYE-PATCH. THIS IS ALL B.S. and iphonearena.com is just the biggest shp ever

Innovative? Just now getting 4G and being smart enough to make a phone out of glass on both sides? Innovative? Iphone 5 is a joke with its new features! Try making real useful features!

They must be talking about sells tactics and how they try to patent everything.

The power of clueless Ifans who don't mind paying more for less. SMH! I bet most of them bought I phones because their friends and coworkers have one, not because of the features or specs. How original!

Apparently, buying creations, dumbing then down, then implementing them is the new definition of innovating. Can you say.....siri?

It's the rectangle with rounded corners that caused Apple to increase their lead. Pure genius.

It was determined based on surveys of executives not hard facts.
These guys probably just associated sales and profits as a indication of innovation and not marketing or cachet (brand value). But based on R&D spending and patents and sophisticated products, they are not as innovative. Apple received approx 4000 patents in the last 10 years. Only 676 last year. IBM is number one and Watson is more more innovative than alot of little apps. It is just not as well known yet. It defeated the world Jeopardy champ.
Having patents like rounded rectangles, rounded icons, rubber band effect, slide to unlock, tap to zoom isn't really being innovative but being a patent armament builder and hoarder. Those who defend Apple don't want to see this.
All of the phone patents, i.e telecom 3G, 4G, LTE patents and inventions were made by other companies like Motorola, Samsung, Nokia.
Apple is a systems integrator. They didn't invent the screens, the chips (ARM) and what else. I am from Missouri, show me the real innovations not just empty words like some of these iFan commentators.

2.4 billion spent on R & D? And where did that all that money go? Receipts and documents to show what they developed out of this money is what I want to see, instead of some chart that 'doesn't even mention apple anywhere' on it. Investors have to eventually see through this facade...if not, then they are all just rich dummies. Research into how to scam the patent and judicial system maybe? Yeah...that's their idea of R & D.

Nice Joke. The only thing they innovated was how to ABUSE a broken patent system.

The compilers of this chart obviously haven't seen or toyed with a Note II or Note 10.1.

innovation means something new

what is new brought by apple just a new technology phone

nokia does innovation with pureview technologies and its display technologies(we learn polarisers in schools and nokia implemented in clear back display)
samsung does innovation with stylus and multiwindows (atleast it is new in mobiles)

Since the death of Steve Jobs, the last 'innovation' I saw from Apple was Siri. On hardware, they have just been catching up. i guess this list put Apple at the top because of the way it influenced other companies to come up with an alternative to what Apple did (OR still does).

Sorry try again. Siri started out as and app that was bought by apple. Unless apples idea of innovate means signing a cheque.
