Yeahhhh!! It's about time! Hype, hype everywhere.

Hype will not help you. It never helped anybody.
That said - it IS interesting to see what Apple will do now.

Yes, they will announce that they invented the 4" phone!

Is it surprising that the article that talks about the iphone gets about 130 comments within 10 hours?
2. T12RYK (Posts: 98; Member since: 10 Jun 2011)
So does that mean iOS 5 is gonna be released before that date??
152. quakan (Posts: 1200; Member since: 02 Mar 2011)
Probably same day as the announcement or within a couple days and then the iPhone 5 will probably drop within a few weeks.

Ya but if you take into consideration the last icon, it has a "1" above the phone icon, which would suggest that there is only one model being announced. Have consumers waited over a year for an 8mp camera and dual core processor? If that's all apple could come up with in such a long time span, then you better get back to the drawing board.

or the "1" means a message to deliver during the event, or iPhone is Number 1.

I have a fairly reliable insider at Apple that says both phones will be announced on Oct 4th. ANNOUNCED take that for whatever it means to you.

I guess the article saying the iPhone will be announced on October 4th didn't tip most of us off. Thanks for the "insider" tip.

I expect more than that, God Willing.

Very interesting. I gave my 3GS to my wife, we'll update it when the iOS5 is released. If the OS has a huuuugge improvement, we'll probably get the new iPhone, if not, I'll stick to my Godly Android.
90. Radio1 (unregistered)
You do know that updating a 3gs to OS5 isnt really going to show you the new features right? the 3gs isnt even compatible with 1/3rd of the os5 features.
97. dacastrator (Posts: 232; Member since: 22 Sep 2011)
I know that, but whatever the 3GS is going to have still shadows whats beyond it. Same capabilities, same sh*t.
8. remixfa (Posts: 13969; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
oh.. man.. the hype.. its... putting me to sleep.
27. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4260; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
I know what you mean I feel like Rip Van Winkle after reading all this bogus Apple hype. I feel like I have been asleep since 2007! I wake up now in 2011 to the same sh*t. iOS is the same in 2011 as it was in 2007! lol
I must be in the Twilight Zone!

Yea WHO CARES?! Oh yea every single news station, newspaper, tech blog and any other media outlet cares that's who lol.
SGS II launches on AT&T on October 2nd and now no one will care. So sad it will go end of life shortly.
36. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4260; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
Really taco50? Ok the Samsung Galaxy S II "will go end of life shortly". Have fun with iOS 5...why do they even put a 5 next to the iOS name. It's still the same prehistoric iOS from back in the cretaceous period. It should really be iOS .5 not iOS 5. lol Android Ice Cream Sandwich with its dual-core optimization will bend over iOS .5 & have its way with her. lol Gosh it hurts my head to try to be as crazy & zany as you taco50. I got to give it to you, you can do it way better than me. I am not up to par on your crazy, zany self! lol
41. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Considering samsung has already announced a better galaxy model the S II is on it's way out.
53. remixfa (Posts: 13969; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
lol.. havent we talked about anounced VS sold already today taco? oi.
just because a phone is leaked... not announced.. doesnt mean it will be out shortly, nor does it mean what is currently there is obsolete.
have fun with your android 1.5 upgrade and already not top-o-the-line speced iphone5.. its big upgrade? android notifications and a whopping huge 3.7 inch screen!!! OMG crazy!!
67. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4260; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
taco50 Samsung just announced an updated Galaxy S II that is all. Facts are facts it's still a Samsung Galaxy S II. There is nothing wrong with that. I just hope for your sake that the next iPhone that comes out is an overall batter device than the Samsung Galaxy S II because if it's not then it will be a monumental fail. Ohh I am talking about the old Samsung Galaxy S II not the new updated Samsung Galaxy S II. Plus don’t be mad at Samsung that they can make changes on the fly & make their products better. Apple should have done the same thing for the iPhone 4 but instead they told people to hold their phone correctly or put a cover on their phones so the device can work correctly. So, so sad! lol
94. bucky (Posts: 1517; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
isnt that kinda what they want you to do with the sensation??
106. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4260; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
HTC is releasing the HTC Sensation XE with Beasts audio & a 1.5 GHz S3 chipset. I can't be mad at a company who wants the best product possible. I wish other companies cough (Apple) cough would do the same thing! lol
93. bucky (Posts: 1517; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
taco50 you are absolutely right. My sgs2 already has successors launching in the coming weeks and i even bought the international version!!
107. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4260; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
The Samsung Galaxy S III has not been announced. What are you talking about? There might be a updated Samsung Galaxy S II that was just announced so it will come out soon but not in a couple of weeks & it just slightly better nothing to be upset about. It’s an update not a successor like you said! That is life, technology moves what you buy today will be obsolete tomorrow unless you are Apple, then you will have to suffer with an antenna issue until the next iPhone comes out!
123. bucky (Posts: 1517; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
Obsolete how? Screen is still better than anything else except for the sgs2, its jusy as fast as any dual core, camera is up at the top with the best, battery completely oblitorates any android, mail client is error free, keyboard is great, app support still the best, accessories and docks of all kinds, best replacement and customer service even without a receipt and sound quality kicks the crap out of my sgs2!
don't get me wrong I absolutely love android that's why I've actually had was the last 2 and a half years, however, mindless bashing of apple is getting ridiculous. I honestly think android fans are the most insecure type of fans out there.
127. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4260; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
What are you talking about? The iPhone 4 was never the best, the HTC Evo 4G was a better phone with a 1 GHz processor, bigger screen, 4G, & it could do "Face Time" without Wi-Fi. Then came the Samsung Epic 4G & the rest of the Samsung Galaxy S phones, then came the Droid's & so on & so forth. The iPhone is not as fast as the world’s most powerful phone the Samsung Galaxy S II. bucky I don't know what you are smoking but you need to pass that to the left please! lol Apple to this day STILL doesn't have a dual-core phone & Android manufactures are putting the final touches on their quad-core chip sets. In early 2012 quad-core phones are going to become a reality. I am sorry but I think it's comical that you can say that the iPhone 4 is just as fast as a dual-core. lol Very funny joke!
136. bucky (Posts: 1517; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
Show me a video where the iphone gets smoked in a speed test opening and starting apps. You make the mistake of thinking hardware is everything! software must match hardware perfectly and thats why i respect that os and will likely return if the screen gets a little bigger. Its androids fault it requires a high spec dual core to get as close to apples in smoothness.
the evo 4g doesnt have anything as integrated, easy and clear as facetime. Even my sgs2 doesnt match it. The bigger screen is definitely up to the user. I personally think 4 is the sweet spot.

I guess not having true multitasking makes a smartphone have perfect software right? You isheep are such s**theads. Please look at the faults of your iphony pieces of crap. Then look at real smartphones. Heck, even wp7 is better than it right now.
167. taz89 (Posts: 2014; Member since: 03 May 2011)
the reason ios is smooth is due to hardware acceleration, that is why a lot of androids lag because they have no hardware acceleration...its why also the gs2 seems to be the only android phone that is smooth and does not lag because samsung implemented hardware acceleration into android themselves...ICS will be bring hardware acceleration so pretty much all phone will be just as smooth as the iphone/gs2.
42. gallitoking (Posts: 4690; Member since: 17 May 2011)
dont worry about the iphone 5 you are not a consumer.... worry about Android phone getting the ICS on time and that your android keeps working after 6 months... let us worry about the iphone5..
44. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Gallitoking this is funny. The fandroids are going to work themselves into a frenzy with this launch until they're foaming at the mouth lol.

is like me going to my neighbors house and demand to have his yard like mine...

I should go wait in line to get a iPhone 5 and then sell it at a ridiculously high price to ifans and they will probably buy it too! Yay theres goes me with all the extra cash to spend
54. remixfa (Posts: 13969; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
oh u mean "us" as in taco and miz? last i checked, u dont own an iphone.. ya iphoney.
83. Who Cares? (unregistered)
Yeah why not have a low key release, would be easier to get your phone launch day if there wasn't a giant hooplah surrounding it. Just do your research quietly and go get your phone launch day.
Big Hooplah means too many people not enough phones.

I agree. Without SJ it's going to be one boring keynote. Watch TC speak on several occasions in previous keynotes and you will understand. That man is no public speaker.

you dont know the specs so shut the f up
16. dacastrator (Posts: 232; Member since: 22 Sep 2011)
What do you expect a-hole? when they released your single core super boring iPhone 4, dual cores are already up. Apple is so innovative arent they. So iFags like you are iDiots.
23. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
There were zero dual core phones in June of 2010. In fact iPhone was at the top of the food chain specs wise when it was released.
33. dacastrator (Posts: 232; Member since: 22 Sep 2011)
Couple months later dual cores were released, and for the record, iPhone was not on top of the food chain back in june 2010, HTC EVO 4G was.
38. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
So which was the first dual core and when was it launched?
Evo had same specs as iPhone. 1gh processor.
46. dacastrator (Posts: 232; Member since: 22 Sep 2011)
iPhone 4's 1Ghz processor is underclocked. Everybody knows that. And EVO 4G had a hdmi out, better cameras and a kickstand for kicking iPhone's ass.
59. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
A kickstand huh lol. Now that's a selling point.
73. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Can't answer the question i see typical fandroid when called out on their bs they change the topic.
58. remixfa (Posts: 13969; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
The evo was not..
the Evo runs on a craptastic Snapdragon S1 processor. It wasnt even top of the line when it was released.
Taco is right. The iphone4 was (almost) top of the heap with specs when it came out as it shared the same specs as the galaxyS, except with the older GPU. The hummingbird processor is king of the single core chips. There is no debate on that.
65. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
the better phones to get were phones with the OMAP3 as you didn't have to modify it to get the real Hummingbird performance.
in my eyes it went.
single core phones that came out after dual core phones were announced don't count like the Thunderbolt, Droid Charge and the Infuse 4G.
118. remixfa (Posts: 13969; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
the vibrant was still a strong device without the EXT4 fix. as far as gaming FPS benchmarks and such it blew any snapdragon out of the water.. and still does. i get better FPS on the hummingbird than the S3 snapdragon does in the sensation.
the ext4 fix was mostly for file system stuff and making the rest of the chip run well, but the GPU was the most powerful with or without the fix. :)
137. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
yeah, i know it is but it doesn't beat an OMAP3 because you get pretty much a Hummingbird with the EXT4 out of the box. Motorla's drivers just messed with the benchmarks.
85. dacastrator (Posts: 232; Member since: 22 Sep 2011)
technically, It probably wasnt, but in the eyes of many people, the Evo was.. the SGS by that time had a lot of software issues and the iPhone 4 had a lot of cellular reception issues. Evo had a battery life problem though, but most phones has so its not that dissapointing.
