This "affordable" iPhone will probably still cost half of the current iPhone, which is not affordable in any way. a 16GB model costs USD $799 here, that would mean the 'affordable' variant being priced at around $399. I was referring to unlocked prices.

Even if price will be just a bit lower, I'm sure that price still be conditionally highly overpriced.

the most of sold iPhones are old models (4S), so their customers eat everything just with Apple logo

so if this happens, Apple becomes the second Nokia = mostly dumb phones as iPhone already is except for its price =

1) no copy file
2) no default app selection
3) no nfc
4) no "do anything with any object"
5) 25 % of iphone has broken glass
6) most vulnerable OS in the world

= dumb phone

sorry, just facts from print not any feeling :)

bad for the competition when iPhones are so inferior :(

Dont forget to add :
No bluetooth transfer file
Has same old boring ui since 2007
No proper file management system
No micro sd slot
No HD screen
And many mores

+ cheap iPhone = Apple's customers will buy just any cheap cr*ps like now (mostly iPhone 4S is sold), so iPhone will sell mostly low-ends like Nokia does

:)

"The device will also be made out of plastic that will cut cost" . . . I wonder why the s4 is expensive . . .

Don't seem to agree with that statement. It depends what type of plastic they use. The quality of plastic use in GS4 is almost of the same price as aluminium.

Sometimes plastic can even be expensive.

I don't get these continuous rumors about a new "budget" phone. Isn't that what their old line up is for? The 4/4S basically are the equivalent of that. I recall a news article about the Apple CEO mentioning this too, and dispelling these plastic budget rumors.

Yeh budget iPhone that'll go we'll it's not like I see enough poor households with iPhones! He'll iPhones are even overtaking blackberry in the teenagers first smartphone category so I don't see how a budget iPhone would help them?

Can't wait for the review where this gets points deducted for not using "premium build material" like all the other "plastic" poly carbonate phones that were released.

If Apple does make this phone, my bet is it will outsell the regular iPhone because it will have the same iOS and provide more bang for the buck. Hopefully the "plastic is cheap" mantra will forever be put to bed.

Everyone here is talking about how expensive the iPhone is.... Is it just me.. isn't most high end smart phone like the HTC one and S4 the same price as an iPhone off contract?
