Apple makes it easier for developers to report ripoffs

Apple has been trying to crack down on app clones recently, so if users want to get Angry Birds or Fruit Ninja, they won't accidentally get Anarchy Birds or Fruit Slice instead. The newest tactic is putting the power (and responsibility) in the hands of the developers...

Now developers will be scared to make any apps because it might accidently be a copy of something.

I may not like Apple as a company, but I do like how they handle their App Store. Much better than how Google runs their own which is full of garbage.

i agree the app store is one of apples strong points... only if google would actually start caring

Being an Android -> Windows Phone customer/developer, after some reflection, I do also think this move is a nice one. Because, after all, faced with a ban/block threat, I guess app developers will start to differentiate and come up with better and better ideas.

i agree with you!!!
devs need to differenciate it self.. if all the apps of those 600,000 play store and app store are just rip offs... the ecosystem is pretty dumb...
so if they want their alternative app to be love and downloaded by people, they need to bring their apps to other platform since the likes of temple run and instagram are not available to WP and BB... but BB has alternative to these apps molome for instagram but still lack some key features and tomb escape for temple run alternative but paid..but the reviews of the game are pretty decent.. its worth your dollar...
i remember one game developer develop an app to android.. it wasnt even downloaded..like 20 times only..but when he made it avaiable to BlackBerry, it gain 500 downlad in a day!!!

even cut the rope isnt avaiable to to BB smartphones but they got feed the kitten.. and again... well love...
i think small devs that "has a similar the ideas" to the top apps and games but wasnt get the love they wanted need to wake up now.. and go to a platform like WP and BB and make their 'alternative app' of the famous apps like temple run, instagram, draw something, etc be available to these platforms and they will sure gonna get love...

so it looks like apple only wants to bicker copy-cat situations if the winning outcome for them is profitable for their bottom line. but in a situation where them flexing their muscle to benefit the customer they take a hands off approach... hmm
i say that to say as long as it leads to an actual resolution an betters results for inquiries for those that use the app store do it!!!

why are you hating apple? i think its a great idea to remove the ripoffs so that consumers wont be confuse of the games that they are developing... i think they need to develope these games to android, Windows phone and BlackBerry...
WP and BB still doesnt have these games but BB has an alternative to temple run called tomb escape.. i think these small developer need to develope their games/apps to WP and BB before famous developer of these apps (like temple run, instagram, draw something, ect) port their apps to the platform... they shouldnt act like stick to one platform!!!
i remember that one small developer make an app to android and iOS but only get a download of 10-20 times but when he ported his app to BB it was downloaded 500 times in a day... so i think these small devs need to make alternative apps for other platform like WP and BB before the famous apps come to the platform!

yeah.. there's actually very good game that is alternate to popular game.. but i just wush that they should bring it to Windows Phone and BlackBerry before this popular apps and games will be available to the platform...
honestly my comment above you makes more sense.. its not that im an ultimate fan or anything...

So this problem happens on iOS also? Who would have known.
