If you truly wish to make a contribution to society via great products - give the end-user the same respect that you give your coworkers. Namely - give them freedom. Freedom to customize and tweak and hack and crack and use your product however *they* choose - without any significant limitation whatsoever. Your predecessor - Steve once said that "Apple believes in freedom". Where is that freedom now? Freedom is *not telling people what they can do with their products - but rather *showing* them what they can do - and leaving the rest up to them. That is Freedom. And that is something that your products - save perhaps the Mac line - severely lack.

You want to make products which are easy to use? That's fine. That's everyone's goal. But the key to that is *NOT* restricting the end user - but rather designing an intuitive GUI. The iPad is perhaps the worst offender, since it's essentially IS a PC. A PC without an accessible filesystem, without a file explorer, stripped of countless abilities which exist even on 10 yeal-old XP machines. Restricted to a single place from which one can download applications. And why? Because you believe that the people who will be using your products aren't smart enough to use an Operating System with the degree of freedom of let's say - Android? Come on. You gotta have a bit more faith in humanity than that. Windows 7 has 500 million users world-wide. More than all the iOS devices combined. And it's about 6000 times more complicated to use than iOS.

Either you design capable products - or you design toys. And I'm sorry but a PC which doesn't have an accessible file-system and a file manager is NOT a capable product.

So all you want to do is hack and mod your phone. This is why most Android phones get left behind

All I want to do is CONTROL my phone. Control what I can do with it and Control where and how I can get content for it. If you do not want the same things - then I am truly sorry for you. If you believe that those who PAY and USE their products don't need to CONTROL them - then you have a very faulty perspective of the basic realities in economics.

No dictatorship - no matter how appealing - will not last. And Apple too shall fall.

foxconn's big paycheck says apple. it is then filtered through foxconn and then a few pennies rain on the slave workers. The money is from apple. Just like government handouts are not really from the government, they are taken from the people through taxes and filtered down. You can launder the money all you want, but apple is the source. And if you want to get even more technical, you are the source of apple's income. YOU chose the working conditions of apple employees by continuing to give them your money so they can get it to foxconn.

is like I am speaking to a child... 3rd party suppliers don't get their checks or employee discount/id due to the simple fact... they don't work DIRECTLY.. I know you are still butt hurt about employees condition in another country and want to crucify Apple.. but Foxxconn are suppliers. for many .. I repeat.. many companies.. please don't make it harder on you....
