Apple iWatch concept shows the possible future of the smartwatch

We’ve heard all about Apple’s special group formed to allegedly work on the secret iWatch, but with no official confirmation we can only dream about what that device will look like…

why do you post these concepts? they're not based on anything. they're not factual, not even rumours, they're just the drawings of random people.

Of course concepts are not based on facts, and we make sure to point this out in our articles. This particular one is well done artistically and it does offer fertile ground for debate for what the real iWatch should look like. Why not focus on that?

I understand the guy's probably put a lot of time and effort into it, and it looks good, and could work well and everything, but it's not real. Fair enough opening up debate for what people want, but i don't think the starting point for the debate should be something which may not even be plausible, or even possible, with today's technology. It seems to get people excited about things, designs, features which they'll most likely never have.
I bet if you asked you designer what the watch looked like on the inside, he'd have no idea, which leads me to say this is no different than a discussion about a painting, which just happens to look like a smart watch. I feel like these are the one types of articles that don't fit in on this site (as the rest is all 'real' stuff), though that's just my opinion.

I get totally your point, specially with this totally unrealistic design. It´s obvious that the designer doesn´t have a clue of what´s possible and whatnot.
But I still like to see these articles, some of the designs are good and can give ideas of what the future brings, and I enjoy seeing that in advance even if today it´s not possible.

As long it is not something with glossy plastic and a home button in the middle, i would like to see it, regardless of whether it is a fan concept or not.

Because you look at it, comment on it and make PhoneArena money.

I dont mind the round screen concept if its functional. I just dont want it to look like I'm wearing a womens watch...lol

good design for a watch not for a smartwatch

I think iWatch would look more like the previous generation of iPod nano (There is a reason why they made the new nano bigger than the previous one). But i prefer this round design, looks more like a proper watch.

this is very fashionable. us geeks/techies don't mind weird designs as long as the specs and functionality are up to par. as far as the masses they aren't going to buy it unless it is fashionable; trendy;
I hope apple's design is similar to this.

speak for yourself. Us geeks and techies don't want to look like idiots in the name of high specs and bells and whistles.
I HOPE HOPE HOPE samsungs watch will look like a WATCH.
i don't want a friggin screen wrapped around my wrist. I want a watch that interfaces with my phone, not a dork nightmare strapped to my wrist.

I like the design, but it´s so unrealistic from a techncal perspective that I don´t find any point to discuss it...
One example of what I mean: You can´t have video with e-ink displays due to the low refresh ratios. So bye bye Facetime and many of other features he puts in the watch.

It's awesome but I don't like to wear watches

I would actually buy that, and I'm no apple fan. However, I think we're years away from being able to make a watch with these capabilities which isn't a huge brick on your wrist.

I may hate Apple but if the actual product will look at least half as good I will have to commend them on a job well done.

Suckered again... wake me when the next watch concept is from the actual design team of the company building the watch.
It does look good, don't get me wrong. But that's all it does... look good. That round face would cause so many technical issues. They'd have to make iOS a whole lot more flexible to support it.

Well my own point of view is checking through the pictures of this so called concept Iwatch i think this designer Stephen Olmstead should replace Tim Cook..and introduce new TOTALLY IMPROVED DESIGN ND VARIATIONS ON THE APPLE PRODUCTS..especially the Iphone..cos this Iwatch design is quite cool, and has that little OLD APPLE MAGIC...they had before Jobs death
