That's because before Verizon, iPhone users had sucky coverage and needed to connect with WiFi. Just the truth At&t people. :p

And they have crappy data plans as well. Must really suck to have a mobile phone that you can't use internet with unless there's a WIFI signal around!

Dude, VZW has unlimited data. Last I checked, they carry the iPhone.

A smart phone is a smart phone and the data plans are the same for WP7, Android, iPhone, and Blackberry... Across the board.

It's an interesting article that shows the tendancy for people to use handheld mobile devices over laptops. I wish they would have included Android in the article, but I see what they are doing. It's more impressive to say that iOS alone is more popular on WIFI than laptops. The times are changing.

this comparison doesn't even make sense. So you're saying a iPhone device is using more wi-fi than a PC..Aren't most PCs hardlinked to a LAN cable for faster speeds than going wireless? Also who's more likely to hop onto the wifi at a coffee place or McDonalds? Someone carrying a laptop or someone who wants to do a quick search on their iOS device rather than use up the usage of their AT&T data plan..Some of these studies are the most idiotic things I've ever read about.

Hey didja know: the iPhone screen is the most touched touchscreen? It's the most charged phone. It's the most answered phone. It's the choice of the most pretentious.

Now take all this knowledge and go change the world!

makes sense, when you have limited data plans, you gotta use wifi to not burn through your limit.

That's because most iPhone are on att s**tty network so they have to use WiFi.
Dug! Why are these sites putting out information that's totally irelvant to the users. It Hoss to tell you erroneous data. When I ask people why there by a smartphone thy say because of email. Email? Is the resonance I buy an iphone?

If people had brains they wouldn't by smartphone of any brand.

What this article is basically saying is that:

iPhone users can't use the web UNLESS THERE'S A WIFI SIGNAL NEARBY!

That sucks to have a mobile phone that you can't use mobile internet on!

iPhone users are going to thumb you down to no end because it's true.
50% of my friends that have iPhones are on T-Mobile.
65% of my friends that have iPhones don't even have data plans.
When I asked them why even bother getting a smartphone without any data, their response are always along the lines of "I can just use wifi wherever I go."
It's quite sad for me to see people with smartphones and no data. It defeats the purpose of a smartphone.

65% of your friends are lying to you because you cant have an iphone or any smartphone on an account unless you also get a data package. served.

@Mr.Obvious that's completely untrue. You can have a smartphone on an account without a data plan. Just buy the phone at full price, pop in a SIM card, and there you go. Dumbass, do some research

Won't popping in a SIM card alert the carrier that a new device has been activated on the acct and auto-add the necessary features? No dis, but your logic seems flawed?
