Apple iPhone phablet coming as soon as this May?

0. phoneArena 05 Jan 2014, 12:42 posted on

A few days ago, we passed along a report that Apple was planning on releasing two different versions of the iPhone this year, each with a different screen-size. The report had its origins with a pair of Foxconn employees. It had always been assumed that the two models would be released at the same time, most likely in the third quarter when the Apple iPhone 6 would be due. One model is allegedly carrying a 4.7 inch screen, while the other is wearing a 5.7 inch glass...

Seems like Apple is copying Android and Samsung....let's see if there is a law suit for copying the pull down menu, an attempt at multi tasking, and larger screen size. I think Apple was the leader in so far as game change, but they never looked beyond what "they" thought the be it all size, and capabilities that they thought the end user should have in the iPhone. Rather than addressing what the end user actually wanted they came up with cheap plastic iPhone 5C's.

Had Apple done this resizing a yaer ago they would not be in this boat. Remember at one point Henry Ford only made cars in the color black. After taking a beating by other auomakers implementing other color choices Ford finally gave in. Today out of the big three, and all of the auto makers of America they are the only one not to go bankrupt.

In order to acomplish what Ford has done today companies must stay nimble, and flexible enough to know when the winds of change will drive sales in another direction, and act QWIKLY or risk being blown away when that time comes!

If this happens, I'm just glad they will have a device they can actually compare to the note series. I never understood why they compared the iPhone to the note. It really is comparing a tablet to a phone. It's no different that comparing the note to an ipad mini or nexus 7.

I'll be definitely be looking out for this 5.7 inch IPhablet, not buying into rumours of a May launch but it's understandable to launch a completely new line considering Apple will want to capitalise on the Note 4 hype before it comes out. Maybe they'll also have better luck integrating apps and usability for large screen devices better than most other OEMs that have gone against the Note series with their own phablets. Maybe it'll use an upgraded A7 processor, A7X with 2GB of RAM?

As longb. As they don't make the flagship iPhone a ridiculous 5" screen I will welcome it. Please make a 4.3 MAX.

Unfortunately, no one can see or type on a 4.3 inch phone anymore LOL! As if they wasn't doing it perfectly fine on a 3.5 or 4 inch phone a few years ago.

And the price would be around 1600+ USD. Apple's silly brand is around 600 USD per iPhone.... Who knows how much the phone will be priced then?

Another iPhone that makes the competition panic. Also, iPhone stiff pricing is done by middlemen and telcos becoz they know they always sell well. Resale value is high not like others that after 6 months, price is greatly reduced and with few buys.
