Surprisingly, we are seeing the first reports of a weird overheating issue in the camera app appear on Reddit. The problem seems to appear out of the blue, with no heavy use or exposure to extremely hot temperatures prior...

There's one double edged sword with the note 5 for me, the side bezels. On the one hand, they make the phone prettier and easier to hold, on the other they allow for accidental screen interaction. A case solves it, but I'm like you, I hate cases.

The battery is a beast on it to me, takes a lot to kill it. I'm loving my combo, and will do the same next year. I think after next year, I may go to a two year cycle (maybe).

That's true. Even on the Edge, I still don't get people criticizing it's battery life. True that it take couple of OTA updates, but at the end I was able to easily get 5+ hrs of screen on time, with a loads of YouTube streaming, social media, web surfing, and a bit of casual cards and puzzle gaming(never heavy games).
I had no slight doubt what so ever that the Note 5 would outperform the Note 4 in terms of battery life, even with the slightly smaller battery.

Not only does it have great battery life, but it charges up in no time. All those complaints, and it turned out to be a non issue. 2015's overall best device in my book.

Oh yeah, that thing also. Never once I experienced accidental taps on the Edge, yet the day can't pass without experience few of those on the Note 5.
I guess I ll end up getting one of those ultra slim clear case, that would be my best bet to forget about these 2 issues I am facing with my phone.

How's your experience with the 6s+ so far? Any difference in terms of battery life and overall performance? Thoughts on the 3d touch? And I read somewhere on the web that it has a blazing fast improved touch id, is this true?

I'm not a huge gamer, other than asphalt 8 air born. I'm addicted to that game. I have checkers, unroll me, and memory block (Simon says).

That's note true cause note 4 got better battery life than note 5.
In gsmarena note 4 scored 90 hours
While note 5 scored 85!

To be honest, having had it since Friday, I can't honestly rate the battery just yet. I haven't been able to put it to the test, due to family being over, and having to play host. iOS 9 is way faster, smoother, and much more stable than iOS 8.

3D Touch is gonna be a game changer for mobile, not just iphone. It's uses are very practical, and seamless. It lets you right into where you wanna be.

As far as Touch ID, it's actually too fast. It's changing the way I take my phone out. Sometimes it's unlocked before I can even look at it. I'm now making sure to not have my thumb on it when taking it out.

I'm sure it'll have it's slow days too, hiccups happen.

When I had my S6, it was averaging 4.5-5 hours of SOT.

The iPhone needs quick charging, although you could use the iPad adapter, but it's not as fast.

The Spigen Ultra Hybrid is the best clear case, imo.

I never care that much about gsmarena's battery life tests, I always ended up getting different results than what their tests shows.
I usually head to xda and check user's screenshots and their phones are doing in terms of sot.

I have to admit, I was skeptical about the 3d touch thing(even mocked it in one of the articles), but I was completely wrong.
I guess it has to with the way it was demoed in the earlier hands on videos, where reviewers were actually long pressing while forcing pressure, so I assumed it isn't that different from the old long touch mechanism. Up until yesterday, where I saw few videos demonstrating the feature, and I gotta say, if i had to pick one feature that I want adnroid phones to copy is this, it's time saving, and seems to work as intended with no problems(atleast for now).

I can't wait till devs get ahold of it, and integrate it into there apps.

I had the Air Cushion for my S6 Edge, but barely used it. I didn't like the way it adds to the trim. I prefer the Ringke ultra slim ones over the Spigen ones.

I don't think it is about the overheating, but again, marketing from Apple, and Android devices having been ridiculed for having exactly the problem.

Since now it has 2GB of ram, are you able to keep more tabs open in Safari without a refresh?

I think the Note series of phones can easily integrate 3D Touch tech into their phones as they already come with a pressure sensitive screen (and maybe without using the S-Pen to do it.

It's a pen that's pressure sensitive, not the screen.

This is why it's usually wise not to immediately buy any new phone model, no matter who the manufacturer is... They almost always have some defects/issues with the first run.

Still, we'll see if this is a widespread issue, or just a few very vocal users.

Haven't had that issue with mine yet, but best believe I'll make it known here, if I do. So far everything works just fine, and I'm hooked on Live Photos, after babysitting my 8 month old niece las night who has a thing for my iPad.
