As long as Apple continues to make a sturdy and reliable device most folks won't care about the size of the device much longer. But if Apple wants to stay relevant then they indeed should look at a larger screen. Someone earlier stated that Nokia and Sony have their cameras that set them apart from other manufactuers. I personally don't think Apple needs some gimmick on their devices. Apple phones work period point blank so that would be their gimmick. Clearly Apple is still the device that all these companies are coming for. If it were not so then Samsung and Nokia would not be doing ads that are taking shots at them. Cleary Apple is doing something right.

So now a much better camera is a gimmick? SMH.
Why don't people just come out and say it - it's only not a gimmick of Apple does it. And always is if someone else does.

Maybe gimmick was the wrong word to use but I think you knew and know where I was going with that. Other manufacturers have to install higher grade cameras to compete with the iPhone because the iPhone's camera originally was THE camera to beat. Clarity, zoom, deleting away random images in the background etc makes a camera gimmicky when everyone else is trying to compete when it does come down to the camera. Give me a phone that I don't have to pull the battery out to reset the device, pop out my memory card and install a launcher or skin to make it usable. Many of you openly take a piss on Apple because it comes out of the box working. No shot nor offense to anyone on here but size should only matter to females. Only females should want to put something big long and black up to their faces. Apple keeps is short, simple and sweet.

I have to admit that I like that part about size does matter to women.
I don't blame if you really have short fingers and perhaps short in other department as well. :)
Anything below 4.3" would be perfect for feature phone that is used mainly for texting and calling. Not sure about others but I find smaller screens on smartphones a little annoying when you do more than just calling or texting.
I felt comfortable using with single hand on 4.7 inches to 5 inches displays, not more. It wasn't so comfortable on bulky devices like Sony z1.
Well that's for me, I'm above 1.9m and 4" display is pretty useless for me.

In other news: I'll believe it when I see it.

I doubt Apple will abandon their 4" model. What about the majoriity of their users, girlies, kids, grandpas and grandmas?
They will probably have two models iPhone 6 and a larger version iPhone 6 M(ax) / iPhone 6 B(ig).

Hurry up 2014. I'm getting in line rite now lol.

Yea right they will never go that big. Apple is too scared to do that. Apple will always be behind i terms of hardware and software. Can't keep up with current gen. it will be too late even if they do that because we will have bigger phones by that time.

Doubt a screen that size this early. While I see them doing it, not for the 6, maybe the 8 or 9 model.
Home button on the side would be an improvement, image in the article looks good, even though only a concept.

4.8" Hahahaha... There goes your famous one-handed phone operations... Better "grow" a longer thumb, to work this thing.
This will probably have the same width and just stretched even longer than the iphone 5 was.

They will most likely keep making smaller phone for those that want it. There goes your thoughtless comment.

Hahah ikr! Look at the picture, the home button is on the side what a stupid concept LOL

No! apple should stick to their single handed use policy! its so good for lazy people like me. I would say 4.3" and thats the limit
71. bucky (Posts: 2448; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
I think that's the sweet spot right there. Just make the phone a tiny bit wider.
I really liked that size on the sgs2

As 4.3" is my personal limit on an all touch screen, and 4.7" is a sweet spot for me, this is a nice rumor. Obviously, price VS. the competition is every bit as important to me, so this is only step one. Despite their success, Apple needs to compete at a more common price point with their new devices, not just their older ones. Customers want all the options on their devices, even if they are not high end phones.

"Apple iPhone 6 might arrive with a taller, 4.8" display" should have sound interesting :D

IT might be bigger, or it. might not. Whats the deal with this article?
83. 9thWonderful (Posts: 232; Member since: 24 Jan 2013)
if this is true...this is an answered prayer for those of us who made the switch to Android based solely on it offering a bigger screen. and no...an even taller screen isn't the way to approach it.

Just rumors!! But who cares? It will have the same design!!
87. xfire99 (Posts: 784; Member since: 14 Mar 2012)

So we will have bigger screen, flexible display and NFC on iPhone 6. Cool. Check techmaniacs.gr inside infos and you will understand what i am talking about! It's in greek and translation is a bit sloopy, but you will get the point ;)

Well, I just have to say, I really like the mockups! I love the fact that they don't have a huge bezel!! ;-)

4, 4.8, 5" TALLER iPhone, makes no difference. They still can't one up the more practical and better looking Android OS.
95. harvestcellular (Posts: 26; Member since: 11 Jul 2013)
A larger screen is exactly what Apple needs to offer variety to users. Larger screens might only fit a certain sector of users but without a doubt this sector is growing and growing. When I switched from Apple iPhone 4 to Note II, I used my tablet 1/2 as much and was able to replace not having to run to the PC or tablet for business related tasks the a large screen works better for.

But Apple-fans DISLIKED large screens, they were bragging how compact was our iPhone with 4-inch screen. Now Android-fans will destroy universe of Apple-fans. OMG NO!!!
100% BS, Apple and larger iPhones? In your dreams...lol
