Apple iPhone 5s is the fastest smartphone according to benchmark tests

0. phoneArena 19 Oct 2013, 16:52 posted on

Just which smartphone is the fastest? According to Which magazines independent speed test, the Apple iPhone 5s beat out rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S4 to earn the title as the world's fastest smartphone using the Geekbench benchmark tests; in single-core testing, the full-featured iPhone had a huge margin over the LG G2, the second place finisher. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was third...

Or amazing benchmark faking done by apples software team. There is no way to prove apples benchmarks as real or fake because they have 100% control over their OS.

Anandtech already found no evidence of Apple manipulating benchmarks. You're just making baseless speculation.

Since iOS is completely coded source, Anand would have no way of knowing for sure if iOS was doing anything different for benchmarks.

Read any review of the Note 3. Zero lag.

Ted you and I both know, no device has zero lag. C'mon bro, this sounds like something Troll would post, if he could post. Zero lag doesn't exist.

You're right.. Even my 920, with virtually no lag ever, has hiccups from time to time.. They are rare, but anyone who has spent a considerable amount of time with a Windows Phone, or any phone for that fact, has had to experience the phone stutter at some point... But, I will say that my phone may stutter a handful of times a year.. Most likely being able to count how many times it's lagged, in a year, on one hand... Nevertheless, no device is perfect.

Exactly, and wp8 is like buttery smooth. Any phone will have the occasional hiccup. +1

My nexus 5 has zero lag.

My desktop with a 250GB samsung evo ssd that gets 550MBps + i5 4670k @4.5ghz + 16gb of cas latency 9 ram @1866mhz + 2x 3tb Seagate Nas HDD that gets 300MBps + Overclocked 7950 on an MSI mpower max motherboard literally has zero lag. None, I can not make that computer lag unless I handicap it by running benchmarks that 100% the CPU. Boots to internet loaded up and everything running from being turned off in 15 seconds.

I love my 5s but why is it always apple vs Samsung. No one yet compared the note3 to lg or sony.

The single core performance of the A7 is amazing we are not against it. We android fans even acknowledge that fact . What I am saying here is when it comes to multicore the iPhone 5s is not the fastest cos clearly the exynos and s800 versions of the note 3 out performs it. Also I feel the OS running the show is also important . IOS is heavily optimized for the iPhone 5s. Android not so much plus it is much more heavy.sometimes I ask myself how will an iPhone with s800 or exynos 5420 feel? That would be the most fastest iPhone in the history of iPhones.

Apple is the best .. Don't care about bench scores that much ... Show me an android phone that had features like iTunes and the cloud integration ... I mean it's a snappy compact powerhouse with an amazing music player ... This coming from an ex note 2 user. For everything else... Mac Air

For me, iTunes is a negative. It gummed up my PC. I couldn't get it off fast enough.

Not so much. Dual core and in the running, but not the fastest. One of the fastest.

Put actual HD output in the iPhone and it wouldn't hold up. This is a ridiculously stupid comparison that phonearena has already presented it once...

Can we have a real test instead of fake benchmarks? Synthetic benchmarks do not work cross platform. Its like trying to compare linux to windows. Linux usually wins on identical hardware..

Heres a few ideas:
Which device encodes a 1080p video faster.
Which device gets better fps in offscreen 1080p gameplay (real games not benchamarks)
Which device unzips files faster.
Which device installs the same app faster,
etc.

Nokia Lumia 1020 is twice as fast as the iPhone 5S and the Lumia 1520 will be 5 times as fast!!!

The 1520 will be the fastest phone in the world,, with its version of the S800 optimized with the already fast WP OS.. To bad WP doesn't have this particular benchmark app...

But, I wouldn't make any claims about the 1020 until we actually see some benchmark test.. I'm sure it wouldn't do bad though..
