The Samsung Galaxy S III is the undisputable Android bestseller and will be so for a good while, while a recent survey showed that the vast majority of future Windows Phone owners are likely to pick the Nokia Lumia 920 when it becomes available...

lol nokia is good no lie....but the operating may be the downfall here pal.......in which i would go with the S3 FTW and also the weight of the nokia is a bit too much jus for a better camera when the S3 has a great camera already.....not better than nokia of course but still a great camera............So the S3 is the winner indeed

It´s not just a better camera, it´s a better screen, better and long lasting design; better maps, better sound quality, more color options, ....etc.

maybe............... but i still would choose the S3 because im not totally sold on windows phones yet......sorry bruh but i wouldnt get a windows phone right now jus the way it is...

You seriously need to give windows a fair shot, use it as a regular phone, you'll see there are few things you will be disappointed about/

agree, I still choose android because I am in love for tweaking my device to my heart's content (custom ROMs etc), but for daily usage, WP is actually great..
I don't really care who comes out the top, the Galaxy or the Lumia, but I just wanna say sorry to apple that they are making an outdated piece of shat again to compete with the beasts..
71. arsenaljimenez (Posts: 178; Member since: 03 May 2012)
Agreed, I honestly like android
but In my opnion suited more for tech savy people
If you know how to tweak android and all that its awesome
but for normal people, wp is so simple, so easy to use
its literally impossible to get lost using it

No way. Look at the camera quality of the 920. Look at the way the 920 is crafted and designed. Look at Nokia's super sensitive touchscreen. Look at its better turn by turn navi and map apps. How can you say the sgs3 is first?? Ah... the Android platform offers 12 kind of Tetris games, where the WP platform offers only three. Ok, well, I am happy for you ;)

hmmmm, better camera, yeah, better screen (even under sunlight), yeah, Battery life, yeah,.......what else do you need to top the SIII? WIRELESS CHARGING!
78. astronot (Posts: 17; Member since: 05 Jul 2012)
Are you joking? Look on the internet for various comparisons between the Lumia 920 and the GS3. Lumia 920 camera clearly outperform the SG3 on every aspect. The same counts for Lumia's super sensitive screen, which even lets u use it with gloves.

Yeah, the Lumia 920 tops the chart! or did you miss read my comment?

Lol. Im samsung s3 user. Would love to try lumia 920. Great os.fluid interface. Nokia wanted to have an o.s which almost all of us use. Nokia will definitely on its way to top. Nokias phone hip trendy and nice interface.S3 is smooth but laggy. Admit it. Ipad 3 user here also.

The Nokia rolled over the GS3? The Nokia and GS3 have the exact same CPU/GPU chipset, the GS3 has twice as much RAM, the Nokia is both heavier and thicker than the GS3, while having a smaller screen. In fact, the only 2 specs that the Nokia has better than the GS3 is better battery life and a higher PPI display.
A good device, sure, but do not be a blind fanboy.

Don't mind him. Nokia fanboys always forget to put "IMHO" in their comments.

Wp does not need as much ram as android, thats a fact. Other than that, nokia has higher resolution, more ppi, far better battery life, wireless charging built in, far better camera and nokia drive which beats garmin, let alone google maps and lets not forget build quality. So i still say nokia ftw

768 x 1280 is a minuscule difference.. That is not a win vs 720 x 1280. You will not notice the difference. Galaxy S III also has wireless charging built in.
This article is regarding hardware, so your software argument should have been in your original post. To vaguely say the Lumia "rolled over the competition" in an article that displays hardware from competing devices that are better than the Lumia's is a losing argument.
The Lumia has a better camera? You mean that camera that Nokia had so much faith in that they ran television ads demonstrating the capabilities of the Lumia's camera, that they later admitted to falsifying the demo and showing footage that was taken with an actual digital camera instead of the Lumia's camera?
You have faith in the Lumia camera, that Nokia doesn't even have faith in?

Not to mention that the human eyes can't notice pixels over 300ppi.
63. ogy_dogy (Posts: 453; Member since: 29 Jun 2012)
your argument for the display can be used on ram too, but i will not go there. as for the camera fiasco, it was not an ad, it was a single video shown to the press and blown out of proportion, i have seen live demos and the 920 made great photos in the dark where the gs3 and iphone made awesome black rectangles.... so i do, i have a lot of faith in nokia... since 1998 and the 5110 (which i still own and still runs)

Sorry, but more Ram and less weight will not make an Android phone perform better than a Windows phone. I´ve seen the Galaxy s3 ( quad-core) compared to the Lumia 900 (single-core) and to tell you the truth, I didn´t see any difference in terms of performance, so imagine Windows phone 8 running on a Dual-core (S4).
On top of that, MS already said that windows phone runs much better on the windows NT kernel.
At the end of the day what speaks about your phone is real life performance.
25. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Windows sure needs less RAM as it's a lighter OS.
But more RAM allow more apps to run in the background! It's called multitasking with no "pseudo" in front.. =]
Also 1GB RAM is more than enough for ICS to run smooth, so does JB. 2GB is a plus!
29. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
So now let me ask you, How many apps do you run or better yet, how many apps do you use at the same time?
We´re talking about real life performance and as far as I know we´re all humans.
31. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
yea true but sometimes you get to the point where you DOO wanna multitask and run multiple apps at once.......wich is one of the reasons why android is currently the "king" of operating systems and phones! There are OPTIONS! and as long as options are there and freedom of customization and choice....then it will indeed remain the king of smartphones........nokia is rising but dont act like it has thrown aside android it still has alot to do before that ever happens......and if you havent noticed then let me remind you that android is only gettin better! so i dont see how they will get over us jus yet......peace man
PS: they have to get over IOS first if they want to top android lol so let that be their focus before us :)

I usually have at least forty apps open all day on my Nokia N9. I range from 40-60 apps throughout the day. It's not uncommon for me to have 80+ apps open at once. My device never even slows down with GPS, emulators, music, and videos going.
I do own a android tablet and have nothing against it. I use it mostly as a gaming device and it serves its purpose well.
However the everyday usability of any andriod phone including the Galaxy S3 is still years away from the multitasking I need in my daily device.
I desperately want someone to make I device that has better multitasking than android, ios, or windows phone.
I will not buy a Nokia WP8 device. SO google needs to step their game up cause I want a new phone in 2013 and every OS I see is years away from my needs.
