Apple is an innovator and it eats you up inside. At the end of the day this flame wars don't matter. Apple will break all sales records over the holidays. Their market share will go up as long as the phone is available on additonal carriers. People will love the phone and the hype train will be bigger than ever.

You do realize, Taco, that even if the iPhone takes a majority stake in market share, people will still buy Android in great numbers. If this weren't the case, then Android would've pancaked just like WebOS. But even with the iPhone 4 on the two top carriers in the U.S., Android's market share has yet to drop, and has in fact increased.

So Apple will get its billions. But Android will continue to go strong too.

This is what you, and Apple, fail to understand: with 300 million people in the U.S. alone, there is ENOUGH ROOM IN THE MARKET FOR MULTIPLE COMPANIES. Apple doesn't need to fail just for Android to keep on succeeding.

Can you please understand this concept? This isn't a war. It's an economy.

there has never been a case were closed and controlled has beat open and innovative. they are different approaches to the same thing, but its not possible for apple's closed approach to stay #1 in market. The ability of android to be pliable and to be on anything dictates that.
