Apple iPhone 4S plans overview: Sprint gives you the most value for your money, Verizon most expensive

Even though the iPhone 4S is the same device across carriers, starting at the same $199 price for the basic 16GB version, its cost still varies. How’s that, you might wonder…

Wow I am so happy I am grandfathered into true unlimited data for? 30 a month on Verizon. I really hoped this iPhone supported LTE and I was so bothered with the timers that made me have hope than have them dashed away. Looking to get a bionic if anybody wants to sell it to me otherwise I am saving my upgrade for a samsung nexus droid prime. If the specs with the exynos chiprumning at 1.5 ghz are true with the really good gpu than I do believe I found thevphone I want. It is by the paper and hearsay the best phone thatscoming out this year. If it lives up to the hype and does not turn out like how the iPhone4s and have the spec rumers not be true it would compound my disappointment and I guess I just will get the best LTE phone I can get. Probity bionic

I have the unlimited vwz data as well but they start to still data cap you if you are 2gb and start to slow you down? Unless I'm mistaken
6. J-Lo (unregistered)
They won't slow you down after 2 GB unless you are in the top 5% of data users. At least that is what I have read. And that won't start until next year sometime.
30. tuminatr (Posts: 685; Member since: 23 Feb 2009)
I read they will slow down only on the 3g network, so buy a 4g
35. NeXoS (Posts: 278; Member since: 03 May 2011)
If everyone is paying the same for mobile internet, I don't see the point of buying a 3G phone when you can buy a 4G phone for the same price?
36. Debbie (unregistered)
That is what I say to my friends Nex, buy a 4g phone so that you can have both 3g/4g access. If you use 4g or are in an area with 4g great and if not well at least you have it when you get to an area, vise not having 4g access at all.

I have grandfathered Unlimited on AT&T. They are only throttling abusers. Not sure how you can get over 5GB on Sprint or VZW on CDMA 3G. On AT&T its easier to see. I typically hit 2-3 GB's and not in AT&T top 5% abusers.
5. J-Lo (unregistered)
Sprint 's Network will STILL SUCK even with the iPhone, I'd rather spend the extra 30.00 on AT&T to know I won't have dropped calls, etc. And I am grandfathered in with unlimited data. Uh so whats the question again?
37. corporateJP (Posts: 1754; Member since: 28 Nov 2009)
You must not be using the AT&T I used to use then.
42. diana23 (unregistered)
Well that will always depend were u live. I had at&t and sprint they both sucked in my area of los angeles. But still at&t was a lil bit better believe it or not I had less dropped calls on at&t. I now have verizon so yeaa. But if I had to choose between them too I would go back to at&t.
7. KickRocks (Posts: 117; Member since: 22 Mar 2011)
You would rather pay $30.00 a month on At&t to know you won't have dropped calls, etc............Hahaha, what a crock At&t is the worst carrier period. Sprint may not be the greatest but it is way better than At&t. Keep getting raped by them. Good luck with that.
46. stealthd (Posts: 973; Member since: 12 Jun 2011)
Worst carrier? Hardly. Just because it sucks where you live doesn't mean it sucks everywhere.

Sprint Network Sucks no matter what phone they have and ATT network is ok but Verizon has the BEST NETWORK hands down Verizon puts more money back into thier Network than ATT and Sprint. yeah plans may be a little more but they put the money back into the network and make sure your phone will work when u need it!!!
17. KickRocks (Posts: 117; Member since: 22 Mar 2011)
Maybe true but for where I need my phone, Sprint rocks and the plans are the best in the industry.Period
19. vette21man (Posts: 351; Member since: 06 Apr 2011)
Never understood why people say "Period" at the end of the sentence when there is a "." right in front of it. Maybe you used a faulty voice-dictation tool? Did you say period twice?
22. swift (unregistered)
lol that made me laugh!!!
44. WHAT?!?! (unregistered)
Sprint's Voice Network isn't that bad, their data network is horrible!!! Pandora and youtube on other carriers like ATT and Verizon works much better, even on some of their older android and Iphones!! You get what you pay for with Verizon... And yes it also depends on your area coverage, some places are better than others!!!

and who cares the Iphone is just catching up Androids Been DUAL CORE...DROID BEEN having 1080p and 8meg cameras BEEN had talk to text and voice search....APPLE just makes it look thier way and put a price on it but PHONES HAVE BEEN doing what this NEW Iphone has anyways so nothing new....
20. vette21man (Posts: 351; Member since: 06 Apr 2011)
Call it catch-up if you want...this has been Android's and Apple's strategy for the last 2 years. Android will be first, which is great, but it may contain bugs or subtle inconsistencies. Apple will be second, but they will make the feature more mature and refined. With Apple, you know when it's released that it will work well.

Phonearena ur wrong again! T-mobile value plan starts at 54.95 with 200mb to 100 wit 10gb T-Mobile best value 74.95 unlimited talk txt and 5gb web
14. bluechrism (Posts: 99; Member since: 09 Sep 2011)
Agreed - As t-mo won't be selling the phone, you would get a value plan rather than classic which are typically around $15/month cheaper.
However, unless the unlocked version has a pentaband GSM radio (or at least supports 3g on 1700/2100, you will only get 2G data speen on T-Mobile and MVNO's like Simple Mobile ($40/month for unlimited talk, text and data up to 3G speed).
28. Victor.H (Posts: 450; Member since: 27 May 2011)
Thanks for your comment, mg. The T-Mo Classic plan we've included seems like the most common option. It's also true that the Value plans come a bit cheaper, and I've included those for a fuller picture, but I still don't see how are we wrong exactly.

Why switch to Sprint when their calling signal is bad?
13. swift (unregistered)
mg713 ur an idoit, ur wrong!!! read the damn heading its comparing prices for the carriers that will be selling the Iphone dumbass!!! Tmobile sucks as a WHOLE and that why Tmobile does not have the Iphone!!!
16. bluechrism (Posts: 99; Member since: 09 Sep 2011)
He is right to comment - Phone Arena mentioned T-mobile users being able to get an unlocked version and the relative plan price of T-Mobile's classic plans that could be used with the phone.
Read the article (including the 4th paragraph) before being needlessly insulting to other users.

18. KickRocks (Posts: 117; Member since: 22 Mar 2011)
Sprint all day in the DC area! Stellar service and data speeds.
21. swift (unregistered)
yea see Sprint Rocks in ur area lets Talk coverage accross the US...Verizon has the BEST Coverage ALL OVER!!! and why unlock an Iphone on a s**tty network anyways!! if it aint on ATT or Verizon it will lack the power of a network phones can be great but it still needs a great network..either way iphone is still behind what other Androids have had for awhile now!!!
24. pyrothrax (unregistered)
...... Thats because Verizon users use Sprints towers... thats why sprint cust who supposed to get thier signals gets Vampired by Verizon users.... Verizon uses Sprints towers.... Talk about best ... HA... yeah... Best Burglurs is what I say....

my plan are unlimited on verizon so no worried
27. ElonSasson (Posts: 6; Member since: 12 Aug 2011)
um yea one quick ting...."ridiculous 139.99" is a shared plan of 2100 minutes for 2 phones with unlimited texting....i dont see how that wud compare as far as prices go since u are not posting sprints shared plans....
29. Victor.H (Posts: 450; Member since: 27 May 2011)
I wish you read the article first. The "ridiculous" statement applies to the $169.99 Verizon is charging for unlimited minutes and 10GB of data, and last time I checked it was for a single line.
31. remixfa (Posts: 14049; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
you need to adjust your calculations. you missed the boat on Tmobile completely
noone would buy an unlocked phone and go on a CLASSIC plan. Hell, noone goes on a classic plan now. They would go on the VALUE plan which starts at 59.99 for unlimited talk, text, and 2gigs of data. 5 gigs of data for 75.00 or 10 gigs for 100. Most people never need more than the 2 gig plan unless they are heavy netflix/tether people.
come on man.. geesh. I work at tmobile.. 1 in 20 new lines might go classic and only because they dont understand how much better the value plans are. NOONE that has their own phone would go classic.. ever.

Since when did Phonearena become one big advertisement for Sprint? I wonder how much they are getting paid.
41. corporateJP (Posts: 1754; Member since: 28 Nov 2009)
For those fretting about paying an arm and a leg, get an unlocked version and put it on Straight Talk.
You'll save yourself all kinds of money in the long run.
