Seriously, a year and a half later and this is all Apple has given us for a next generation phone?
4. superguy (Posts: 277; Member since: 15 Jul 2011)
Apple fans will still line up for blocks to buy it. It doesn't matter how much or little has changed. Apple puts it out, Apples says it's great, and people will fall for it.

what about its ram
512 mb or 1gb
154. Boti95 (Posts: 162; Member since: 05 Sep 2010)
I know. All of this for this crap and people still make a big deal about it like if it was the only phone in the world. Its not Jesus Christ, its not the cure for cancer, its not a phone that can teleport you, its basically the same thing but with new camera, processor, and voice recognition.
156. AppleFUD (unregistered)
most likely 512 since they are using the same A5 SoC as the iPad.
167. Laron (unregistered)
I'm not an all Apple consumer, but I'm going to have a disagree with you on that one. This latest move by Apple has the fans pissed; they have every right to be. Apple could have atleast kept the same design, but increased the screen to about 4". This is a smack in the face, the Iphone 4S should have been released 6 months after the Iphone 4, but I'm not a CEO so my thoughts are irrelavent lol
15. ilia1986 (unregistered)
What did I tell you?! Huh?! iPhone 5? LOLZ. I told you this from the beginning!!
Screw Apple!! And to wait another week for iOS 5? After waiting so long? Ridiculous!!!
25. andro. (Posts: 1990; Member since: 16 Sep 2011)
behind all the apple pr brainwashing statements in the expo of 'oh you love this' 'this is the best ever' is the bold truth that all thats different with this phone is an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a faster processor.
Islaves of course will revel in these world changing features and will continue to annoy anyone not an islave by trying over and over again to talk to siri
32. gdbw (Posts: 17; Member since: 18 Dec 2009)
yeah right, seriously??!! I agree jeremy, a year and a half later and all apple tries to appease the ignorant masses with is a few new apps and 3 more mega pixels of camera. This is just sad, completely sad. Looks like after all the innovation apple has had they are now the ones playing catch up in the mobile world.
47. Make calls (unregistered)
Butt,, with a re-designed antenna, you may actually be actually make phone calls now, isnt that awesome?!
Now that is revolutionary!
159. AppleFUD (unregistered)
yeah, I got a chuckle out of that part. Trying to say how they revolutionized the antenna with the iphone 4. . . yeah, you did what no other manufacturer was stupid enough to do != revolution or innovation.
57. ArmageddonX (Posts: 96; Member since: 11 May 2011)
Yes, I'd like to welcome all iPhone users to Android 1.6!
76. gdbw (Posts: 17; Member since: 18 Dec 2009)
between 1pm and 3pm on 10/4/11, apples stock has fallen by more than $12. Same toy as it was over a year and a half ago just with a better camera. Awful, just awful. Now I understand why apple has to sue to stay ahead of the game.
96. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5993; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
About a week ago, I posted to one of the articles that if all Apple did was release a 'warmed-over' iPhone 4, their stock would take a hit. An iPhone 4 with iPad 2 internals barely qualifies as warmed-over.
2. wassup (Posts: 565; Member since: 23 Jun 2011)
lol... and apple is innovative..how? lol yep, you rock your i4S, i rock my SGSII. later.
146. GS2convert (Posts: 1; Member since: 04 Oct 2011)
Seriously, this phone is lame and a year behind the times. I must admit, I had an iPhone for 4 years (2g, 3g, and 4) and I was one to wait in line on the first day to get one. Last year I waited a month hoping for a white one and was disappointed and settled for black. I was swayed earlier this year towards Android and tried out a Thunderbolt but was underwhelmed by the battery life and went back to my iPhone. Long story short, I was sold on the GS2 on Sprint. After trying it for 1 day I will never go back to a crapple phone. People are just sold on Apple's showmanship of old technology (although I am a mac user for life!). The GS2 is amazing!!! No wonder Apple was trying to get an injunction against it, especially after seeing the "new" phone they are trying to pull off!
3. 87168 (unregistered)
hahaha iPhone 5??? Yea ok!
So basically the same phone, with the exception of the A5 chip. Hmmmm dual core. Is that really all you have this time around Apple?
5. superguy (Posts: 277; Member since: 15 Jul 2011)
Hey guys, give Apple a break. Even though they're not the first to put a dual core proc in their phones, they're the first to put one in an iPhone! Now that's innovative! :D
80. gain1998 (Posts: 11; Member since: 23 Jun 2011)
Um, yeah... Apple is the only one who can put a dual-core processor in an iPhone, since they sort of have exclusive rights to the iPhone... were you joking around? I hope you were, because I sincerely found that funny.
109. superguy (Posts: 277; Member since: 15 Jul 2011)
That was my point. Totally was messing around. :)
6. Miles R. (unregistered)
Well It Looks Like I Might Just Get The iPhone 4 or Even If The 4S Is Quite Cheap on eBay~ Lets See How It Goes. I Want To Know If There Will Be A Difference To Tell Them Apart~
179. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
maybe that's why this supposed Prototype has been so hard to find, it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
8. Vzw_employee (Posts: 42; Member since: 01 Sep 2011)
They better announce the iphone 5, or bunch of my customers are going to piss their pants.
9. varunr (unregistered)
i think the new iphone will look like the samsung note....lol tats a another law suite!
10. bolaG (Posts: 468; Member since: 15 Aug 2011)
hahaha 3.5 screen, no LTE, no hdmi output, no hotspot, no 8mp camera....wow great upgrade Apple
13. bolaG (Posts: 468; Member since: 15 Aug 2011)
woops....called that one out to soon haha. ok they have a 8mp camera :P
84. stealthd (Posts: 1067; Member since: 12 Jun 2011)
Uh, they have hotspot and HDMI (via adapter, just like the SGSII).
11. PimpStrong (Posts: 310; Member since: 25 Jul 2011)
As a salesperson, how do you even convince someone to replace their old iPhone 4 with this "new" iPhone 4?
Its already smooth and fast so besides adding hair follicles to the monsters on Infinity Blade, what will be the selling point?
19. XxVerbaixX (unregistered)
on what planet do u live that u actually need a "sell" and iphone to the isheep? sell android, clerk out crapple.
30. andro. (Posts: 1990; Member since: 16 Sep 2011)
then tell its cool they will fall for it easily the poor saps, that cash sale is yours!
91. stealthd (Posts: 1067; Member since: 12 Jun 2011)
Why would you be trying to convince someone who can't upgrade to buy a new phone?
111. XTREEMMAK (Posts: 8; Member since: 08 Aug 2011)
What's the selling point? The Galaxy SII. Just say it's the big brother to the iPhone since Apple obviously loves the phone so much :)
12. Michael V. (unregistered)
It has a 8mp camera...
14. paynekiller (Posts: 139; Member since: 24 May 2010)
omg so exciting!!!
I love how the editor put an exclamation mark after almost every sentence, PhoneArena must be superstoked.
16. Sniggly (Posts: 7290; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Competitive, not innovative. Unless they pull a "one more thing," looks like we're not seeing anything incredible today.
29. ilia1986 (unregistered)
They just did. Called Siri. Read the liveblog.
Oh and I bet it's only on the iPhone 4S of course. Useful for businessmen and know-it-alls. Otherwise completely embarrassing to talk to your phone.
Oh - probably no Hebrew support anyway. Meh.
35. Sniggly (Posts: 7290; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
It also requires a data connection. There go your two gigs a month, bye bye!
Also, it's a beta release, lol. What was that about Apple not releasing features half baked? They've had a year and a half to work on this!
43. ilia1986 (unregistered)
Yeah I almost fell of my chair. Apple releasing a BETA? taco must have committed suicide by now lol.
Oh and of course some guy will get siri to work on the iPhone 4. And maybe the 3GS. It's just an enhanced version of Voice Control ffs! Can't take that many resources!
Oh - I forgot btw. 3.5" screen until mid 2012. That's just.. pathetic. Especially when the Galaxy Note will come around and swallow this iPhone 4S for launch, breakfast and dinner.
But seriously. Anyone going to just say to their phone "What's the weather tomorrow?" in public?! How nerdy\wierdy must you be? Maybe Apple is just trying to hook all the iSheep with a virtual girlfriend so they don't feel so alone lol.
I mean - I barely manage to mutter "What time it is?" during song playback once in a week without people looking at me strangely..
49. Sniggly (Posts: 7290; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
LOL. I don't know. The voice controls are cool, brings us a bit closer to Star Trek, but its only advantage comes when you absolutely can't afford to look at your screen to do something. And it certainly isn't innovative enough to make the GIGANTIC DEAL that they've made out of it.
I am happy that my Atrix is still basically up to the iPhone's par specs wise, unless you count the camera. :) And how much did my Atrix cost? That's right, 99 bucks. 99 bucks with 16 gigs onboard memory, and sticking the memory card from my Droid X into it made it just as valuable as a 32 gig iPhone 4S... at a third of the price.
60. ilia1986 (unregistered)
Well it's sure as hell is useful for businessmen and people who are always very busy. The price they pay? Same as wearing a plug AKA bluetooth headset in your ear. Probably worse. Talk to the hand. Oh, I'm sorry. The phone.
Besides - by the time Siri hit's Hebrew support - we are certain to see a similar comprehensive service on Android. Oh and available for a lot more than just one device as well.
Maybe if Siri had Cortana's voice from Halo.. ;-)
63. Sniggly (Posts: 7290; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Ha, yes, and with Cortana's attitude to match. I could live with that.
I just can't wait for the Google/Samsung announcement next week. Ice Cream Sandwich pl0x?
65. ilia1986 (unregistered)
I am still suck with Apple!! :-(
But I'm excited for ICS as well. :-)
71. Sniggly (Posts: 7290; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
you know what would be f**king incredible? If my Atrix is eligible for ICS. I would love Google forever.
Btw, I love how the vast majority of the keynote was filler, recapping all the s**t they threw out at WWDC.
And who is up for a charity drive to get ilia the Android phone of his dreams? Poor man's stuck on an iPhone still!
89. ilia1986 (unregistered)
Why not man? It's got a Tegra 2. Sure as hell it's eligible for ICS. Be it officially or via a custom rom.
And yeah I noticed that as well. It's like if they repeat it 1000 times - something will change.
And thanks, Sniggly. Maybe I should open a PA Facebook page. In any case, donations are welcomed. ;-)
I would like to order one Large-sized Galaxy Note, please, with Ice Cream on top, in a Sandwitch.
108. Sniggly (Posts: 7290; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
LOL. We'll get right on that for you, ilia. :) Move to the United States in a couple of months and I'll sell one to you myself.
116. ilia1986 (unregistered)
Hell I'd love to, man. Gotta move my gf, my family and my future career there too, though.
And if you watched Machete (watch it - it's freaking awesome) - they don't treat trespassers in a too friendly manner. ;-)
126. Sniggly (Posts: 7290; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Oh come on, DO IT! Come to St. Louis, this is a pretty friendly city. And relatively inexpensive too. we can start an Android fan club and braid each others' hair! :D
131. ilia1986 (unregistered)
Hehe - well I'll keep that possibility in mind, my friend. :)
In the mean time - spread the Green Love! Apple cannot get away from this - this time. To announce just an iPhone 4S - after a much longer time of waiting than the usual year - and without a one more thing, without SJ himself, with a new CEO is a bad start for them, I say.
In AD 2011 war was beginning
Samsung: What happen?
Lawyer: Somebody set up us the lawsuit.
Operator: We get signal.
Samsung: What !
Operator: Main screen turn on.
Samsung: It's you !!
APPLE: How are you gentlemen !!
APPLE: All your patents are belong to us.
APPLE: You are on the way to injunction.
Samsung: What you say !!
APPLE: You have no chance to survive make your time.
APPLE: Ha ha ha ha ...
Operator: Samsung !!
Samsung: Take off every 'WIDGET'!!
Samsung: You know what you doing.
Samsung: Move 'WIDGET'.
Samsung: For great justice.
133. Sniggly (Posts: 7290; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Lol, you're crazy man.
The real test will be when the phone comes out. I won't get to see the launch day frenzy as an employee as I'll still be in training. But I may try to get a visit in as a customer.
135. ilia1986 (unregistered)
When you talk unto Siri - Siri talks unto you. :)
183. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
dude..if you don't get ICS on your Atrix i'll grab a pitch fork with you. that'd be so messed up.
182. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
omg you said pl0x...my friend is driving me crazy saying that all the time now. he said that's what they say on Runescape and he thought it was funny because it makes no sense at all. xD
140. Carlos (unregistered)
Lol the Atrix will eat this phone 4s (and the way things look, same goes for the iphone5) like dinner. The galaxy note will squash it like a bug and declare it not eatable.
181. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
...you mean that thing that's been around since Android 2.0 that no one uses? i love how Apple thinks that voice commands are a big deal because we Android fans make a big deal out of it but we only use it to get iFans riled up. xD
180. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
it doesn't even completely succeed at that.
