For the second consecutive time, the Apple iPad received the J.D. Power and Associates award for consumer satisfaction in the tablet industry, edging out Amazon; the two finished in the same position back in September when the award was last given out and this time Apple received high scores for performance; ease of operation; styling and design; and features...

I think people dont admire innovation....they like the ipad more even though it has hardly changed from its prequel.

Why don't you simply accept that the iPad is the best tab on the market?
The best SoC,the best display(here come Nexus 10 on the 1st place, but the second place is also very good),over 300.000 apps designed for it,premium building quality. It's super fast, lagless and has the best battery life.
What I find on my Nexus 7:cheap plastic, bad building quality, scaled apps made for the smarthphones and also ulgy designed compared with the iOS,alot of lag,it's also freezing sometimes, poor battery life.

DONT JUDGE ME BY MY NAME....ipad is the only product which i think is still the best. the problem is that the company has stop innovating. wats d difference b/w ipad 3rd gen and ipad 4th gen (besides the more powerful processor and useless lightning connector)? and even the 5th gen would be nothing but an ipad 4g with more powerful processor and reduced bezel....slight ios7 changes are obvious.....where is innovation? stupid tim is doing nothing..

Innovating eh? You need to blame the designers, not Tim.

oh really? whos the ceo? designers?

Tim Cook is the CEO, and Jonathan Ive is Apple's senior vice president of Industrial Design. REMEMBER, JONATHAN IVE, J.O.N.A.T.H.A.N I.V.E!!!!!!

Innovation...what kind of word is that?
The manufactures reached a point in which they cannot innovate anymore because these things called smarthphones, tablets are nearly perfect with all these great specs:HD displays,quad-core processors, great ecosystem, good optimisation of software etc.
Nor Apple neither Android manufactures are not innovative, they are improving what they've done in the past.
We can call something innovative when that thing is completely new,for example:jet engine made by Henrie Coanda, steam engine, gunpowder, diesel engine......ettttc.

I wouldn't say that smartphones and tablets are nearly perfect, but I would say a fair evaluation would be to say that these manufacturer have reached their technological limitations for now and will have to continue on into the future with more research and development to actually bring about innovation. I also feel the word innovation is thrown around way too much. ;-p

thats exactly what i am trying to say....and people complain that galaxy s4 looks similar to s3
30. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
no differance is android fanboys loved jumping on anyone who had an apple product by saying they look the same but when the s4 and its unispired similar design appeared suddenly its ok and you should of saw the excuses android fanboys tried to make
the ipad is a solid tablet thanks to having tablet optimised apps android tablets look like an after thought just a elongated phone right now.

I'm not ready to use iOS yet, sorry Apple! The iPad is nice, build quality is nice, premium feeling, tons of games on the App Store are free and on Google Play Store you need to pay money, but I'm not used to the iOS, so I will continue stay on Android, and the tablet I want is a Nexus tablet.
iPad? Maybe later.

no doubt apple OS is Stale but its the best. I will be giving u three example here.
1. Display Wise its brilliant..and i have been using iPhone 5 since it release and had no problems.
2. Customization we can do it after jailbreak and guys its hell lot of customization for a jailbroken device.
3. My 2 years old nephew uses my iPhone 5 with ease without any trouble..
I use my phone for everyday use and its the best..
PS : guys accept the fact as i did.. android is the BEST but IOS is also great.

If Apple one day decided to take their heads out of their azz, and supported: widgets; changes on default apps, such as sms, phone dialer, etc; multiple music files; and customization. I wouldn't even hesitate to jump back to iOS. After awhile, it becomes tiresome, cumbersome, removing the battery, and doing factory reset.

For the tablet market, I prefer the iPad because it is built with premium materials, smooth OS, great display, and a promising CPU and GPU performance optimized with the OS. For me, I get what I pay for with an iPad.

Well the iPad deserves every reward, unlike android tablets, the apps are optimised, there's more than 300000 of them that are made for the iPad, and tons are designed for the retina display, while on the android side, there is barely apps designed for 10", and i guess there is even less that are designed for 2560x1600. iOS is boring, especially the iPhone, but when it comes to the iPad, the apps ecosystem, not only their quantity but also their quality. Not to mention the best GPU on the market and the best tablet gaming experience, LTE, Storage, Build quality, design, the display, the aspect ratio (some say that 16:9 is better for tablets because that's how movies are made, and that's the aspect ratio of TVs, but honestly, how many times do you use your TV in portrait?). I just wish it had NFC, i want some tablet-smartphone interaction.
I LOVE my HTC One, i want my phone to be personal and costumisable (unlike my tablet), but for tablets, the iPad is still the best (the big one, not the mini with the crappy display).
13. vincelongman (Posts: 4165; Member since: 10 Feb 2013)
To be honest the iPad is still the best tablet because of the optimized apps. I would miss Android for numerous reasons, but the lack of optimized apps is too bad.

J.d. power are a bunch of idiots. The kindle fire is the best bang for your buck. 199$ for the 7" fire hd compare too the ipad mini 7"screen 329$? I mean com on they all do the same thing. Even the galaxy tab 7 is cheaper than the ipad. Some people dont realize this they only care for the name & logo. A lot of customers ask if we still sell the kindle fire but we dont. So i recommend the galaxy tab 7.0 that also have a sd card unlike the ipad does. Or they want the kindle order through amazon. J.D are a bunch of turd

Judging by the quality of your comment here, I'm guessing "bang for your buck" really means "all my parents were willing to spend on me".

I'm actually looking forward seeing the iPad 5 more than any other upcoming tablet.
Apple puts its best components in the iPad, while Samsung treats the Galaxy tab line as a second class hardware

Cars that don't sell much in India gets most awards in India too ... :)
20. JunitoNH (Posts: 1667; Member since: 15 Feb 2012)
Of course they did, they don't have any competition, except oversize notes.

I think iPad totally deserves this award! The OS just works it's smooth, it's fast, rarely lags at all and the apps are great because it's optimized for the tablet itself. The build quality is top notch no doubt about it but of course there's always room for improvement like they could at least add some support for multiple users and i would like the next iPad to be a little lighter as well.
26. TechWorld_Observer (Posts: 15; Member since: 17 Aug 2011)
Oh I love my iPad, it deserves all those rewards. Only the best of the best. The only thing is that it keeps messing up when I play games, browse the web, listen to music, read emails, and stuff like that, but other than that it's great. I guess that SAMSUNG logo on the black plastic back is there because they make the chips for my iPad... wait! Ah not again, Craigslist...

Even tho Android tablets offer more features, iPad is just a more sturdy product. my iPad works like a champ. the UI is more basic which i prefer. Android UI whether it be Samsung's version, pure Google or otherwise looks fine even tho you have all of the customization available it just loses its luster quickly w/me. don't know what it is about Android. am considering the S4, but am afraid after 2 months that i'll have moved from being interested in it.
31. bachir8k (Posts: 148; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
Since i bought my S3 i never used my tables again, a HD 4.8" screen is pleasant to browse Facebook, Twitter and websites, in addition to play games .
That's why Apple wont develop bigger screens for IPhones, or else their fans will buy only an IPhone and skip IPads.
32. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
by your err lets say logic that means samsung are wasting there time with there tablets and even phablet market
come one android boy try harder why come on apple articles to talk bs
33. bachir8k (Posts: 148; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
I don't care if it's a 4.8" HD Samsung/Android or any other brand, I am just saying that these screens are pleasant enough for everyday tasks and no needs for a tablet, and that's why Apple wont develop bigger screens for their IPhones.
On my point for view, neither Android nor IOS tablets have any bright future, but Linux and Windows tablets will rise very fast soon.
I bought a Windows 8 Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T (google it) and a 27" LCD screen (Also Samsung :p) and a Bluetooth mouse/keyboard (Genius :p), and my friend i am using it as my home computer opening MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, installed Apache and MySQL and everything related to web development and it's running smoothly.
34. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
differance is apple will bend if they see bigger screens been popular like all companys. i see your point but i dont agree. look at the ipad mini it hasnt completely destroyed ipad sales so i dont see a bigger screen on there phone damaging it too much. also thanks to there table optimised apps people have a reason to buy an ipad. android users might as well stick with a phablet i think its a better option then there table offerings
windows tablets do look to be the way forward, especially the laptop hybrids. so much more can be done on a full windows 8 tablet then any others
