It is a nice appealing product. But the price keep customers away from it.

Why? Get an ipad2, same thing, bigger screen, same price, too, I think. Or, better, get a Surface or Windows RT, and get stuff done, instead of just play. Even better, get a Windows 8 Pro, and create while getting stuff done, as it's a full computer, not just a media player with a huge screen

Pic #3 say the truth, this is 1st time that I skip the iDevice to teach Mr. Cook a lesson... Bigger screen better? Doesn't affect on me Apple!!!

That poop is an ifansite. Joshua topology is well known isheep, engadget is also biased. Other review don't conclude that its any better than Nexus 7.

I call BS on the iPad being better.. everything I have read shows the Nexus 7, and probably the coming Galaxy7 to be significantly better.

App ecosystem.. that's changing. As the Android pad sales explode, you'll see the Android app selection explode as well.

While it's a cute tablet, and I do agree that it looks a bit better than the Nexus 7.. only because the screen is more edge-to-edge.

Seriously though.. 329 for inferior specs in EVERY way? You can get the Nexus 10 for just $70 more!

I never thought about comparing the Nexus 10 to the iPad Mini, but now that you bring it up, holy crap.

Real quick math shows that the Nexus 10 has a solid 44% more screen space than the iPad Mini, at a nearly two times higher ppi. The 10 also sports a processor that isn't a year and a half old.

Apple claims that the iPad Mini's extra screen size is worth $130. Google offers roughly the same extra screen area for a mere $70. Check and mate.

Nexus 7= cheap design ,cheap built quality, pathetic cameras, not all apps are compatible(done some research and it turns out nexus 7 doesn't have many apps that are optimized for it whereas ipad mini runs all of the 700000 apps of the App Store), search for benchmarks and you will see that that A5 Gpu beats ge force gpu, ipad mini will always be fast and fluid whereas nexus 7 shows some lag frequently(research done already), also 16 GB N7 lags when the device has only 3GB memory left- so much that the device becomes unusable.

Alright Taco, calm your jets. My god, your obvious arent you.

You have obviously never seen a nexus 7 in real life. If it had an apple logo on it, you would think it was the best tablet ever.
Its extremely solidly built. It has NO REAR CAMERA, ALL APPS ARE OPTIMIZED FOR IT... ya know, since every android app can scale or flip to tablet mode depending on screen resolution (something apple apps cant do), its fluid as all hell proving your still a tool and a fool.

BTW, the ipad mini can only run the 250k TABLET OPTIMIZED APPS, not all apps. The N7 can run EVERY app in the play store. You have your facts backwards like normal.
Hell, the slide show even mentions its "250k tablet apps for use".

no matter how many screen names you have, you will never get any smarter.

Recap:

Worse hardware compared to ipad 2, worse screen compared to nexus 7, totally wrong ergonomic design for a 7 inch tablet as it's awkward to hold.

Apple took all spare unselled A5 and baked them into the ipad mini.

Hey! It has bluetooth 4!! Sadly no file sharing allowed.

Awesome ecosystem! With a non-awesome ecosystem I can read all magazines for free downloading pdfs and can stream full hd movies without an apple tv. I can download any tv show for free with a link grabber and share it to all my devices with a ftp server. I can have all music for free with music junk. Meh, I won't have the beer app suddenly...

I start to admire Apple

Why are you guys doing these kinds of stuff? I mean only serious fanboy sites do that (on both android and apple side ) I means isn't that counterproductive? You would be getting a unit for review anytime soon and you are directly getting opinions from other Sites? Honestly not a smart move

the app ecosystem argument is crap. Yay, you get 250k apps for your ipad. You get 700k apps for your Nexus7. Add that to a higher res screen, much better OS, Google Now, Google Maps, stronger hardware, and still a fantastic battery.

Apple fans think the ipad is the best. For anyone without a dog in the fight, the mini ipad does not measure up in any way.

^This.

It's beyond me that those so called tech journalists are missing the fact that Nexus 7 actually trumps iPad mini in the app department.
Android phone apps LOOK JUST FINE ON 7 INCH SCREEN.

shyt, I can force apps to flip to tablet mode on my phone for extra functionality.

iOS people have no idea what they are missing and are happy in their ignorance.

Apple - you need a specialized app for that
Android - 1 app to rule all sizes.

its not that hard to understand.

I love how all of these sites make reference to a device that is $130 cheaper. Seriously? The N7 and mini are in two different leagues at those prices. Yet the N7 holds its own with a better resolution, better footprint, and the power of the android OS. Everyday iOS falls further behind, and Google's content catches up.. soon there will be no difference in content/apps.

And what does that tell you? That the majority of the first impressions given are completely biased. Silly.

Wow victor, you based this entire story off of the opinions of well known Apple fanboys and biased websites. Way to destroy all of Michael's and others hard work to make sure pa is an unbiased offer, with one pointless article. Would it have been that hard to find opinions from some neutral parties? You know, like you're supposed to.

Congratulations!!! A whopping 30% of your sources are borderline. I'll give you verge, but as far as wsj and bloomberg, its not the publication, its the author of the review.

Hence why most newspapers had a little sentence at the of most articles that says something along the lines of this is based off of the opinion of the author and not of the publication co. itself.

Tim cook could take a crap, slap an Apple logo on it, and mossberg would go gaga.

If it had been more evenly split, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

The thing is that iProducts will always run smooth as iOS is not as heavy as Android, therefore people will say iProducts never lag. Since Android is extremely mainstream nowadays issues arrive in various products and when people post these problems online on forums then apple fanboys say these "issues" exist on ALL android devices. Come on even PA gave the Nexus7 a 9/10. What more evidence do apple fanboys want, if the sight that they follow(referring to apple fans on THIS site) is praising this device?

In short lag is FINISHED with jellybean, unless ofcourse you carelessly use your phone. That way even iOS lags.

The reviews don't surprised me. The iPad mini is pretty much the same thing as the iPad 2. If they said the iPad 2 was great, then they can't say the iPad isn't great. That's the beauty of apple releasing the same product over and over again. You can't release criticize it. When the iPad first came out, it's like the iPhone, but bigger, so it's great. Now the iPad mini comes out and everyone is saying it's like the iPad, but smaller, so it's great. I'm going to predict the future and say when the iPhone 5S and iPad 5th Generation, and the New iPad Mini comes out, all of the reviews will say it's the same thing, but newer, so it's great.
