Apple iPad 5 and Apple iPad mini 2 appear together one more time

Last week, we showed you a rather long 11 minute video that compared the alleged casing of the Apple iPad 5 with a casing belonging to the Apple iPad mini 2; on Thursday, some more pictures of the pair were leaked directly from Sonny Dickson. Since the Australian teen had the shells of the Apple iPhone 5c and Apple iPhone 5s before anyone, we do advise you to consider the strong possibility that these are legitimate...

"media attention being lavished"?
I'm a cord cutter so I honestly don't know, but is there a lot of attention for these phones? You have got to hand it to Apple... No other company can make the same phone, car, shoe, or any other product three years in a row and have the media and consumers get wood every time! Love em' or hate em', no one else is doing that.

Exactly WM, in the world of big business where the bottom line is money...apples got skillz. It also helps that they make a solid product, with a vast ecosystem. +1.

They didn't get that much wood considering their stock went way down LOL. We will see though...

I've got a 3rd Gen iPad 64GB, so it is about time to upgrade. I'm just not too sure it is going to be the full sized iPad again. I really like the size of my Nexus 7 32GB (2013), so it may be the Mini 2 this time.

I'm in the exact same boat. I'm giving my wife my iPad 3, and getting a mini though.

If the iPad Mini 2 has the processor of the 4th Gen, it should be an easy choice. +1

You will take an inferior product that is just a giant iphone over an actually good tablet?

Ipads are better than android tablets too bro IMO.

I respectfully disagree. I think they are just different. I have both an iPad, and the latest Nexus 7. I find that the iPad is a much better out-of-the-box experience, while the Nexus is more customizable. Both are just as powerful.
I find the iPad just easy to get into. The App Store is clean, and the lack of options on the iPad make is easy to "just use". My mother, who is almost 70, can easily use the iPad's complete ecosystem. I gave her my iPad 2 when I upgraded to the 3rd Gen. She rarely uses her computer anymore.
My fiance has a Nook HD+. They've really done a great job at creating an easy user experience with it. Now, I've lost her to Candy Crush. Oy! Since she is already familiar with the apps on her phone, the tablet is very familiar to her.
I really don't think one is better than the other, IMHO. They are just different. It's why I have both, and will continue to. My mother wouldn't be comfortable on an Android tablet, and my fiance isn't comfortable using my iPad.

I had iPad mini and Nexus 7 (2012) and I feel like iPad mini is better because
1 display in iPad mini is better for me
2 slimmer,lighter and better design
3 rear camera
4 never lags
5 better battery life
6 more durable.

Most of those were true with the 2012 model. They are no longer. The new Nexus 7 has really come into its own.

the nexus 7 is much better. no comparison even needed

now this beast will unleash the use of 64bit packing those shells with 4gs of ram and their 128gs of rom... ipad mcbook style...

Seriously Now... Apple is far too conservative a company to take the iPad from its current 1gb RAM to 4gb RAM in one generation.
NOTE: The current iPad Mini only has a paltry 512mb!
Apple's A7 SoC is all good and well but any benefits to be gained from its 64 bit architecture (which really only matters with 4gb RAM or more) will not be seen on ANY iOS device for at least 18 to 24+ months given Apple's (painfully slow) update cycle.

why that stupid white strip again on the back ? jus dont get it
21. DaHarder (Posts: 154; Member since: 10 Oct 2009)
Because the model show is the WHITE WiFi + LTE version which requires that 'stupid white strip' to allow the LTE antenna to work properly.
Some may like the way that aluminum casing feels, but it's pretty terrible for antenna reception.
NOTE: The WiFi ONLY version don't have said 'stupid strip'.

aaah i see .. so why they have to do it this ugly way ?
