Wow... How exciting. Another over hyped, ridiculously priced, built on slave labor Apple product to grant you status as another 1 percenter with plenty of money to burn.

Will be dissapointed if it comes out as the ipad 2S like they did with the iphone 4S. Waiting on new products just to find out that all they have is a new haircut is dissapointing.

If anyone has watched the movie "The Jerk" with Steve Martin, we can surmise that in comparison with the one scene in which the new phone book arrives. Apple can represent the phone book and people lining up on every iteration of an Apple product, can represent Steve Martin.
Classic movie and Steve's uncanny excitement resembles Apple buyers.

The burning question on everyone's mind:
how many suicides will take place at Apple production plants worldwide in the next three months?

That's actually a common misconception. Both the ancient Greeks and Columbus and pretty much everyone else of any education knew the world was round...nice try though...maybe next time you should try to get some education yourself before making an asinine comment.

They will probably bump-up' the Front Facing Camera to a WHOLE 1.0MP and maybe, just maybe, you'll be able to use FaceTime™ on 3G versus just iWiFi only. But, good luck waiting on 4G connectivity; not happening, not cost-effective for Apple since profit margin is the Apple bottom line.

With ... a new/better battery ... iOS ... higher screen resolution ...
Even with the Prime's killer processor ...
If the iPad3 "looks" better and lasts longer ... it will be a tough fight for the Prime.

apple is gonna reveal something that "no one" has ever scene. even though the transformer prime is going to be still on top.....the pr and marketing for aapples products will bring it home. If asus spent that much money on marketing people would fall in love. The very few customers that come into best buy and ask to see the transformer prime and just get BLOWN away at the power and style are the best. i kid you not they get extremely happy. overjoyed. Thats what sets apple and others apart. i can see customers getting frustrated that apple prodcuts usually cost soo much but with that money they can have a device that wont get future proofed.

Let's face it. Apple makes a good product. But, this is nothing new. For 30 years, Apple has made good products. Their problem was high vertical integration that controlled your every end experience coupled to higher price. Incremental upgrades and the lock in of proprietary equipment. Same as today. So what's the big deal today? Why is this generation so high on Apple?
Just as you said, it is the marketing. Steve jobs was looked at as a visionary. However, I will argue that he was far better at using his eloquent persona to sell the products.
It is no secret that Apple copied. And they copied a lot. Even Steve himself was quoted on camera as saying:
"Good artists copy, great artists steal. Apple has always been shameless in stealing other's ideas".
He had a way of taking these ideas and making them seem new and feel revolutionary. Can we give credit to Apple for the revolutionary iphone or iPad?
In simple terms; Yes. Because they were released in a new era ready to embrace something new. But to look back on history; No.
Linus invented a computer called the WriteTop back in the early 80's. A computer with removable "Tablet" style device for remote use.
IBM invented a type of Smartphone device called an iPaq back in the 80s as well.
So technically, these ideas are not new. I argue that the iphone alone is nothing. It can't perform unless it is coupled with something else. That something else is the App store. Without it, the iPhone would die. Trounced by what the true smartphone is capable of doing.

I'm not going to be in the market for a tablet for a long time if these trends keep continuing. So far the transformer prime is the only interesting one to me because it has the keyboard with an extra battery and a full sized USB port. With those features it can replace my laptop for light tasks.

Who cares I'd rather have an Android tablet like the Asus Transformer Prime!
