Apple iPad 2 doorbuster sale at TJ Maxx looks legit: price slashed to $399
Ladies and gents, the hottest iPad 2 deal of the season is today: TJ Maxx is offering Apple’s tablet with prices starting at $399, a $100 cut when compared to the official retail price. The deal is limited to particular stores only and the quantity of iPads in stock will be equally scarce but it’s worth giving it a try. Rumor says there will be around 15 tablets in stock at some stores, so you’d better be quick.

We also can’t guarantee you’ll find the tablet there, so it’d be best if you just call your local TJ Maxx store and check. The deal actually beats Apple’s own Black Friday discount which brought the price down to $458 for the most basic model. Don’t forget to let us know if you’re among the lucky few who got one in the comments below!

I personally think no tablets are worth buying right now until the iPad 3 with it's Retina Display is released or Windows 8 tablets are released.

Well, the blackberry Playbook and the Amazon kindle fire are priced at $200 so they are worth looking into, NVIDIA seems to think there will be $300 quad core machines mid next year. For people looking to burn money however, tablets are cool toys.

It's not about the price, what I mean is that tablets have potential to replace laptops but I don't find any of the current tablets good enough to do that.

It would be hard to replace a laptop without it being something along the lines of the Transformer Prime. Laptops have the added benefit of a physical keyboard which is easier to type notes and documents.

It depends what you use your laptop for. My tablet has replaced 90% of what I use a computer for.

Plus on average I get about 35 hours of battery life.

The current view is that the iPad 3 will have an improved display when comes to market in 2012 -- however, there's no guarantee it will be retina display.

I wonder if Apple will sue TJ Maxx for selling their product $100 below the retail price.

Just checked TJ Maxx, the manager said California stores aren't getting this deal. If any of you buy one in California let me know
