Despite recently saying that it doesn’t find much practicality in offering wireless charging for its mobile devices, a recent patent filing suggest Apple might be working on a solution of its own…

what is your problem... go do another sketch and patent it.. and sell it to Google and quit the hating... or go Apply at the patent system but do something other than hate..

you are not alone there. but Apple will be around for a long time you know that. just letting you know so you do something about your hate for a company.. is unhealthy

yes, and what apple did, does and will do are unhealthy too.. even more so for the consumers, and I will hate apple for that..

If Apple changed for the better, it's not impossible that I will love it..

I am pro innovations, and hate uncompetitive behaviours that will ultimately hurt consumers.

And this, by the way, is not limited to apple only.
I hate the way Google Play having less regulations than App Store, this will make devs sided with apple more, and this will ultimately hurt my choices as an Android user.

what consumer are you talking about that are being hurt.. 95% of customer retention higher than any other company.. lets be honest . the only ones being hurt are the haters... other than that.. dont see any consumer in pain.. please if you are pro innovation then praise competition dont kill it..

"please if you are pro innovation then praise competition dont kill it.."

that's the whole point Bayusuputra is talking about, he is praising competition, but you're beloved Apple company is the one killing it, by patenting things it doesn't have a prototype for, just to kill the competition!!

Thank you, that's exactly what I meant.

but that 95% of those customers you are talking about is not the same as 95% of the whole customers in the market.. what if that 95% only represents 25% of all customers in the whole world? Then what about the choice for the other 75%?

So you have 95 out of 100 people who will definitely buy the iPhone, yes, it won't hurt those 95 people, but what if the total number of smartphone users are 1000? then what about the other 905 people? wouldn't they be forced to buy apple products even though they don't like it?

This is what I meant, the other 905 people would be hurt.

Don't confuse the numbers, iOS only have about 28% of the whole smartphone market share, and that 95% out of 28% of the share would amount to 26.6% (and that is IF your number of 95% is correct, because i think that is more like an exaggeration). What about the other 73.4%?

If apple keeps doing what it does, it will kill competitons, and for goodness' sake, please read the last line of what YOU have written YOURSELF.

There is no competition in court.

And apple should then start praising Android/WP/BBOS/Jolla/Symbian/Gecko/Tizen/etc like what you said.

why are you back, thought you had finally got lost up apple's arse

so when nokia showed the wireless charging and apple said it wasnt any good, more of a gimmick you apple trolls all when true we dont need it

now they are trying to patent existing tech by changing it slightly you think its innovation and the best thing ever

and you wonder why people say ifans are mindless idiots

your prime example of one

When will these other companies learn to patent their technology. Apple has shown it will STEAL the property, patent it, sue other companies for the same technology that was out before they (Apple) put a patent on it and then get those devices banned!!!!!!! This is how apple will continue to limit choice til their is nothing left in the great ol US of a but iphones and dumb phones. Die Apple!!!!!

The different actions depending on face up/down is novel and patentable, but the rest is pretty obvious. I, for instance, have commented on several articles about wireless chargers, always asking that they be able to charge more than one device at a time. I'm not the only one.

Seems like just last week when Tim Cook said it would be too complicated to make another device to plug into the wall. Wait a minute...it was last week and it was posted here on our beloved PA.

Is Apple about to patent testicles on dogs, or mamals needing a breathing medium with a quarter oxygen. Anyone who isnt a Washington lobyist for "Big Corp" has gotta see the US patent system is totally insane.

this is bordering on bulls**t... patenting their fantasies and just suing everyone once they have created a similar technology. did apple already patent for antimatter batteries and adamantium as well?

Are they fcking insanely stupid? Didn't their dumb a$$ executive said at their conference theirs no need for wireless charging on their crappy iphone. YOU CAN'T PATNET wireless charging their are lots of universal wireless charging. DAMN APPLE YOU FCKING SUCK BIG TIME with your PATENT TROLLING. and dind't NOKIA STARTED THAT FIRST?

tim cook's actual quote "ladies and gentlemen, we at Apple have dedicated our lives for a great cause. Now, it has all come to fruition. We have revolutionized the entire concept of patent-trolling and brought it to a whole new level."

Riiiight...because NO ONE has ever thought of this before....

http://powermat.com/

Chalk another one up for Apple getting patents that are apparently being shipped out the backdoor at the USPTO with reckless abandon. Apple must either be paying someone at the patent office to look the other way, or the government is incredibly incompe...oh wait, never mind.

I don't necessarily want a wireless charging station but I would LOVE a charging mat of sorts that I could throw all my devices, phone, tablet etc. on and have them charge. Not having to find all the connectors for all the devices (and in a family of 4 many are needed) would be SO nice. I don't really care who makes it.
