imo the "shortage" is done by apple to hype up the desire. they are playing people and trying to convince them that if it's out of stock it's because everyone wants one, therefore they should want one soon. it happens everytime they launch a phone. for such a proud company, they have a pretty good idea how many they are going to sell, but they don't want the desire to deminish.

its somewhat true...

i got my iphone 4s last friday. it was a quick "in and out" process... i was surprised.

(this phone is awesome by the way)
