Apple files patent for iPhone friendly optical stylus
0. phoneArena 24 May 2012, 08:16 posted on
As surprising as it may seem, Apple is apparently working on a stylus, of all things; a stylus that is meant to work with the company's portable devices, such as the iPhone. How do we know? Well, Apple has filed a patent application for such an accessory, meaning that it might materialize one day making those Draw Something sessions a lot more enjoyable...

Patent doesn't mean they are using it. It is to stop Samsung from advancing further with their copied spen.

People like you are the reason the Jackie Chan meme was created. You are way more brainwashed than taco and gallito, so much that you think a stylus which apple hasnt released is being copied by the SPen which came out 7 friggin months ago...oh well, gotta feed the troll sometimes

What? You mad, bro?
95. elandrumiii (Posts: 109; Member since: 20 Mar 2010)
Whats really funny is you dont even know what this stylus will do or wont do and you are already yelling that they stole something. Why not waoit and see. Yes we all know you hate apple it has been apparent for a long time. I'm not even an idevice owner i actually prefer Samsung and basic andriod and dont care if a former apple employee helped build design or create the andriod os. doesnt matter because the both have a unix/linux under pinnings. I am curios to see what it will do I will be getting a galaxy tab because I want a 10.1 inch screen. If sammy is pissed should have beaten them to the patent office.
40. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
wow I see that most of you read the article but a few understood... Apple patents millions of stuff that we never get to see the light of day.. not surprise by fandroids as they always whine...
42. frydaexiii (Posts: 1419; Member since: 01 Dec 2011)
And I would expect an idiot like you to not see the whole picture. The thing about Apple patenting is that, if Apple can't do it (which they probably can't), no one else is allowed to do it, even if someone else found a way to make it possible. But an iFan like you wouldn't care now would you? Just as long as Apple churns out that shiny white pen with an Apple logo on it...
44. QinEmpire (Posts: 145; Member since: 16 May 2012)
As long as Samsung churn out something that obviously copied from Apple like s voice fandroids like you will also buy it thinking that its revolutionary
45. frydaexiii (Posts: 1419; Member since: 01 Dec 2011)
You realise no fandroids are excited about S Voice at all right? No person would buy an phone for a stupid voice control that can talk right? Oh wait, except the iFans, but we can't really consider them people now can we? More like sheeps
49. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
yea... S-Voice.. We've had google voice commands for like 3 years now. S-Voice, just like Siri, is the same thing with the ability to take multiple commands for the action. Just like when Siri came out.. YAAAY.. big whoop. Its an evolution of the system, its not magical.
53. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
' just like Siri". you wish remix.... if that was the case s-voice woulnt have surface... google voice sucks now and it sucked back then
59. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
you sir, are a chicken head without a clue.
55. tedkord (Posts: 7988; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
I think S-Voice is as much of a silly novelty as Siri. They're both useless.
52. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
wow calm down with the insults.... if Apple patents it is because i hasnt been.. period... instead of maiking insults write a letter to Google and tell them to patent it.. ok.. now back to the ifan like me comment....you dont know me... so all you can do again is assume.. making an @ss of you.. but you are a fandroid so you are used to it..
56. tedkord (Posts: 7988; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
Will you stand here in this forum and admit that Apple is copying Samsung with this optical stylus?
58. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
is not because Samsung was not the came up with it.. but I wil say that the Apple stylus if the make one.. will be far better than anything on the market...
61. tedkord (Posts: 7988; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
And Apple did not come up with the smartphone, did not invent any part of the smartphone, yet you have no trouble claiming Samsung copied them. (And, fortunately, Samsung came out with a far better smartphone than Apple)
That is hypocrisy at it's greatest.
62. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
now you just expressing your opinion about Samsung having a better phone is disputable.. also you made the assumption that Apple is suing samsung for having a smartphone. sorry cannot debate over personal opinions. only facts
63. Sniggly (Posts: 7296; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
You mean like the "fact" that if Apple comes out with a stylus it'll automatically be the best stylus ever?
Don't be a hypocrite, Gallito.
64. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
me saying the stylus would be better is my opinion.. but that was not the reason for the debate it was if Apple was copying Samsung over the stylus.,.. ok Sniggly.. dont used part of what I say or you think I said against me.. you have to read the whole thing..
65. tedkord (Posts: 7988; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
This isn't about Apple's suit. It's about your's and Taco's hypocrisy, in crying copycat over grids of icons, rectangles with rounded corners and finger gestures, but when Apple starts working on a device that is exactly what Samsung released 6 months ago, that isn't copying.
Apple is shamelessly copying here. It does the same things the s-pen does, down to pressure sensing, etc...I don't have a problem with them doing it. But then, I'm not as big a hypocrite.
66. jmoita2 (Posts: 930; Member since: 23 Dec 2011)
I'm going to laugh my ass off when Samsung does to the new iPhone what Apple is doing to the new Evo 4G LTE. We all know the new iPhone will be the spit image of the Samsung Note, stylus and all. Sorry Apple, but you lost your edge.
67. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
yep change the subject cuz you couldnt deal with the truth even with your buddies tried to bail you out....since you know a lot about copying should you be directing your concern to samsung for copying... sent them a letter to see how clueless you are... want the address ..hmmmm
68. tedkord (Posts: 7988; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
I didn't change the subject, you did. My first question to you was if you would admit Apple was copying Samsung. You proved once and for all you're a hypocrite by saying they're not copying. This whole discussion was about your hypocrisy, and you lost before you even started. Because your hypocrisy won't allow you to admit that Apple copies just as much as Samsung.
76. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
the answer is no.. is hard to say or prove that Apple did copy the stylus from Apple because lots of companies make stylus longer than Samsung.. so hard to give credit to Samsung.. HTC had a Tablet that came with a stylus pen. that's is my answer and I am sticking with it. since you will dispute all I said
79. tedkord (Posts: 7988; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
OutWell now, that is interesting. Because lots of companies before Apple made touchscreen smartphones. One of them was even Samsung.
Tell me what exactly Apple created in the iPhone that no one had before.
Rows of icons? Nope. Palm.
Touchscreen? Nope. Palm, HTC, Samsung, etc...
Multimedia capabilities? Nope.
Yes, they made it better than anyone prior, but none of it Is theirs.
So, by your own logic, since Apple didn't come up with any of it, Samsung can't have copied it from them.
82. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
I see that you lost that argument so we are moving on to history... and I am not falling for you argument,.. ok.. that's Samsung copied Apple has been discussed in every Apple article not falling for that one.. you believe what you want and I believe what you want... but I will say that Apple and Samsung are at court... Apple has yet to modified any device to Samsung criteria but Samsung has even made changes just to comply with the patent owner...I claim Apple is winning you may dispute that even though facts are there...
84. tedkord (Posts: 7988; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
I lost the argument? How delusional are you? You just told the forum that you hold Apple to a different standard than Samsung. You said that Samsung can be accused of copying stuff Apple did not create, but Apple cannot be accused of copying Samsung because Samsung didn't create it.
You lost this argument so thoroughly I almost feel bad, like I took advantage of a retard. You came out looking hypocritical and foolish, eventually saying that you simply weren't going to acknowledge your inconsistency.
86. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
I wise man always said. that if you speak to a retard long enough.. you become one..hope you wont cross my path or direct your comments to me. again...
87. tedkord (Posts: 7988; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
After this, I'm sure all Apple supporters are hoping you and I don't cross paths again.
60. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
but honestly... under SJ I would have told you that the stylus would have never happened.. and that is just another patent that Apple has and would not use...but under TC.. it seems that Apple is either listening to the consumer, haters or the competition.. but I feel big changes,,, that is as smart of an answer I can give you...
73. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
" that is as smart of an answer I can give you..."
thats the most honest thing youve ever said. lol
74. PapaSmurf (Posts: 10093; Member since: 14 May 2012)
Your fanboy comments make me laugh all the time. Instead of praising Apple all day, why don't you finally take 10 minutes of your life, get off this forum and apply to Apple already. I'm sure you won't be missed here.
77. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
sorry but it would take me more than 10 minutes... can I get 15? instead
81. jmoita2 (Posts: 930; Member since: 23 Dec 2011)
But he already works at the Apple store!!!
83. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
for an intelligent man.. thats a dumb comment... thumbs up to you..
93. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
gallito, you can take 40 minutes to apply. But, may i suggest not using all those ellipses in your application. Im sure it will be frowned upon.
98. InspectorGadget80 (unregistered)
don't worry gallitoking is always and will be a idiot. He doesn't know that STYLIST have been using on touch screen device WAY LONGER BEFORE THE IPHONE OR ANDROID
96. Raymond_htc (Posts: 430; Member since: 06 Apr 2012)
This is ironic... Back in 2007 when steve introduced the iPhone 2G, he said he hates styluses. Now what? Apple is patenting their own stylus.......
101. JunkCreek (Posts: 407; Member since: 13 Jul 2012)
Now they sued Sammy and Androi d JellyBean for this patent????!!!!
102. Raymond_htc (Posts: 430; Member since: 06 Apr 2012)
Didnt steve jobs said that a stylus is not neccessary when u have a capacitive screen when he released the first iPhone back in 2008? How ironic.
