Apple engaging in shady deal with patent troll?

Apple seems to be supporting a patent troll, who is now suing the rest of the mobile phone arena with patents that Apple transferred to them behind closed doors...

That is the thing, google did nothing dirty. Google owns android, HTC was sued in regards to android.
Google transfered patents to protect android, which google owns.
Apple transferred patents to attack a competitor and ban them out of existence.
If you can not see the difference between transferring patents to defend themselves and transferring patents to attack another company, then i can not say anithing that can change your mind.

Plus, the patents do not represent an invention, like the wheel, the 3G, mobile communication standars or other important stuff.
Apple patents involve unlocking your screen with a gesture, and HTC's gesture does not look at all like apple's slide to unlock.
And BTW, i do know about business. Obviously more than you do.

"That is the thing, google did nothing dirty."
If you believe Google collusion with HTC in patent trolling is nothing dirty, then why double standard? Google gave HTC access to a patent so HTC could sue Apple. These are the facts.

Haven't you guys expected it anyway? It's the typical Apple way of doing business.
It's clear that the iphone 4S was a big disappointment even for apply fanboys. Android phones provide buyers with a lot of options to choose from, yet Apple decides to keep the same exact design with a lame voice regonition system which by the way, can easily be upgraded with a simple software update on the iphone 4 and calls it a brand new phone. The reason they couldn't even make the size of the screen a slightly bigger was maybe the amazing battery life which Apple claims that it can be fixed with a simple software update :-)

Starting from today, I'll dump my iTunes and use Sony's Music Unlimited and Google Music. Anyone with me?
50. Hello-dirt posted on 13 Dec 2011, 13:22 5 2
No, I will continue to download their free songs of the week, My music collection increases, they have to pay for the royalties, maintaining their servers and all the people that are required to operate that part of the business. But i do agree to not buy any apple products through the site or through vendors.

I still think the entire patent system is broke. The fact that in the name of money, companies can exist like this whose entire and whole existence is only to make money through patent litigation lawsuits screams of a broken system.

Apple is becoming more impatient than I thought they would... the process of crushing the rest of the market is being accelerated, but they are taking extra care to try to wipe off their fingerprints from the whole thing as they go (although still failing somewhat on the stealth end of things, thanks to investigative reporting, but the hardcore iFans will still help to keep the rest of us on the defensive and off-balance until Apple completes their task of utter domination) by hiring and cooperating with these proxies. This was inevitable, but it was not going to happen as quickly on its own... thus the effort from Apple to accelerate the process to its natural conclusion far ahead of schedule. Beware... the Apple takeover is well in progress! None will remain who can possibly oppose!

The problems is the facts. It is A FACT that Google colluded with HTC as part of the patent trolling activity. Google and HTC did in plain sight. In contrast, the facts surrounding the Apple behavior is UNKNOWN.
84. hepresearch (unregistered) posted on 14 Dec 2011, 09:13 0 0
Unknown? So you are willing to put your stamp of approval on "unknown" facts? That is about as good as that law congress passed a few years back that was 2200 pages long, and a certain leader in the House said, "You've got to pass this bill to find out what's in it!"
Nah... it is not unknown... the evidence is out there for those who are willing to properly interpret, using common sense, the things they see and hear. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... then it's a duck! I am not going to deny that other companies have colluded in order to defend themselves, but this whole business with apple smells of anti-competitive behavior and burgeoning monopoly in the mobile tech industry.
Besides, how can Google and HTC, colluding or not, be patent trolling together when they are actually on the defense? They are not suing Apple... are they? Those who defend themselves from the patent lawsuits are not the trolls...

You'd think, considering that Steve Jobs was a Buddhist, that he would have realized the bad karma that would come back to Apple for going "thermonuclear" on Android. People are going to see a rotten Apple due to these legal shenanigans, tarnishing the image that he worked so hard to create.

Once again, pointing to fandroids with them saying nothing of their phone type or who they prefer. The ignorance you speak of is only on your end.
