Apple employee does another oopsie by losing an iPhone prototype in a bar yet again

0. phoneArena 31 Aug 2011, 17:38 posted on

Who knows what it is. It could be the drinking and all, or possibly the stress befalling them since they’re guarding a previous device, but it seems that iPhone prototypes are prone to being lost for some odd reason...

Must be a sales technique secretly develop by apple. I bet if any other company loses their prototype apple will sue

At least the cops didn't confiscate the guy's computers like the last time.

that's funny. i'd love to be a fly on the wall and see the buyer pull out his iPhone 5 unaware of how special it is and making a tech geek faint after seeing it.

What a dumbass! You sold an Apple prototype for $200, when you could have just driven to Cupertino, returned it and have an eternally grateful Steve Jobs, or Tim Cook showing you their appreciation with tons of free products. Well, if they can prove he sold it, the Apple lawyers will eat this guy alive.

And if the person who bought the prototype were smart, they would call Apple immediately and reap all the benefits of gewtting that device back to them without any further leaks. I can imagine Apple sending Mac Book Pros, the 27" iMac, Apple TV, and a $10,000 iTunes card.

It could happen!

Doubtful. Remember this is cApple, not exactly the most "giving" kind of company.

you don't sound too smart yourself. I seriously think attempting to blackmail Apple is not a very smart decision. Selling it to BGR or Engadget would have been a better idea.

I don't think he was implying blackmail or extortion...sounded more like a "hope" of receiving a gift for doing the right thing.

Nice guys finish last...

Exactly! Just saying Apple is going to get it back come he'll or high water, so make it easier on yourself. Give it back.

Haha gratitude from Apple? That's funny. Watch them snatch it away from you and send you home, lol

@E.N. Who said anything about blackmail? The guy who sold the first one to Gizmodo is in deep s**t for doing exact what your suggesting. So wouldn't it be smart to return the device to Apple in hopes of getting some kind of gratitude? Even if it's just a signed autograph picture from Steve himself. That's enough award for any Apple fan to do the right thing.

i doubt it.. after last year's fiasco where apple sued the tech site and did a goulag style flip of their stuff to get the iphone back.. i doubt any site is going to buy it.

apple is a frikkin tech mafia that deals in the trade of chineese slaves.

Idk if I would return it or not, but you can't put a price on doing the right thing. You have more to gain by returning the stolen/missing property than coveting it for personal gain. I remember seeing this written on the 2 Tablets Steve Jobs brought down from One Infinite Loop, lol

Don't drink and test products lol.

You see, iSheep? People who are testing the iPhone 5 need to take quite a few drinks to relax at the end of the day - because of how ridiculously limited the OS is.

:P

Nope - I just post stuff because I expect a bit of sense of humor in people.

That and it's fun bashing the rotten Apple as well. :D

Some bashing and criticism can actually be funny. Like the "I want an iPhone 4" video that spread throughout youtube was pretty freaking hilarious.

But where's the funny in your comment? People are drinking to relax because the OS is so limited? What?

@ilia. Says the Apple hater. Why am I not surprised.

You see ilia. The iphone 5 will be another huge success. Which only means, more sleepless nights for you :)

Why do you like torture yourself? Lol.

Are you kidding? Apple would never pay a penny. They would just send their legal pit bulls after everone involved with the leaked info, make them sorry they were ever born, and get away with free advertising for their new device.

I doubt it, Apple is a cheap, stingy ass company.

They don't give anything away to their devs at WWDC.

They nickel and dime their customers with $35 dongles.

They have an arrogant attitude from sheep waiting in line for the "opportunity" to buy their products.
