Apple employee does another oopsie by losing an iPhone prototype in a bar yet again
0. phoneArena posted on 31 Aug 2011, 17:38
Who knows what it is. It could be the drinking and all, or possibly the stress befalling them since they’re guarding a previous device, but it seems that iPhone prototypes are prone to being lost for some odd reason...

Must be a sales technique secretly develop by apple. I bet if any other company loses their prototype apple will sue
2. Stuntman posted on 31 Aug 2011, 17:48 6
At least the cops didn't confiscate the guy's computers like the last time.
3. Thump3rDX17 posted on 31 Aug 2011, 17:52 0
that's funny. i'd love to be a fly on the wall and see the buyer pull out his iPhone 5 unaware of how special it is and making a tech geek faint after seeing it.
5. Whateverman posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:03 8
What a dumbass! You sold an Apple prototype for $200, when you could have just driven to Cupertino, returned it and have an eternally grateful Steve Jobs, or Tim Cook showing you their appreciation with tons of free products. Well, if they can prove he sold it, the Apple lawyers will eat this guy alive.
7. Whateverman posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:09 7
And if the person who bought the prototype were smart, they would call Apple immediately and reap all the benefits of gewtting that device back to them without any further leaks. I can imagine Apple sending Mac Book Pros, the 27" iMac, Apple TV, and a $10,000 iTunes card.
It could happen!
11. iHateCrapple posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:30 8
Doubtful. Remember this is cApple, not exactly the most "giving" kind of company.
12. E.N. posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:35 1
you don't sound too smart yourself. I seriously think attempting to blackmail Apple is not a very smart decision. Selling it to BGR or Engadget would have been a better idea.
19. iHateCrapple posted on 31 Aug 2011, 19:19 11
I don't think he was implying blackmail or extortion...sounded more like a "hope" of receiving a gift for doing the right thing.
Nice guys finish last...
29. Whateverman posted on 31 Aug 2011, 21:25 0
Exactly! Just saying Apple is going to get it back come he'll or high water, so make it easier on yourself. Give it back.
32. E.N. posted on 31 Aug 2011, 22:04 2
Haha gratitude from Apple? That's funny. Watch them snatch it away from you and send you home, lol
28. Whateverman posted on 31 Aug 2011, 21:21 0
@E.N. Who said anything about blackmail? The guy who sold the first one to Gizmodo is in deep s**t for doing exact what your suggesting. So wouldn't it be smart to return the device to Apple in hopes of getting some kind of gratitude? Even if it's just a signed autograph picture from Steve himself. That's enough award for any Apple fan to do the right thing.
46. remixfa posted on 01 Sep 2011, 07:02 0
i doubt it.. after last year's fiasco where apple sued the tech site and did a goulag style flip of their stuff to get the iphone back.. i doubt any site is going to buy it.
apple is a frikkin tech mafia that deals in the trade of chineese slaves.
55. 530gemini posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:04 0
@remix. If what you're saying is true. You and ilia, along with the other android fanboys in here, would be dead by now :)
53. biscutbob posted on 01 Sep 2011, 13:36 1
Sell it to samsung haha
17. rwolf1984 posted on 31 Aug 2011, 19:13 1
Idk if I would return it or not, but you can't put a price on doing the right thing. You have more to gain by returning the stolen/missing property than coveting it for personal gain. I remember seeing this written on the 2 Tablets Steve Jobs brought down from One Infinite Loop, lol
37. ilia1986 posted on 31 Aug 2011, 23:48 4
Don't drink and test products lol.
You see, iSheep? People who are testing the iPhone 5 need to take quite a few drinks to relax at the end of the day - because of how ridiculously limited the OS is.
39. E.N. posted on 01 Sep 2011, 02:00 0
Yeah because that makes complete sense. You just jumble things together and hope it makes sense don't you?
40. ilia1986 posted on 01 Sep 2011, 02:40 1
Nope - I just post stuff because I expect a bit of sense of humor in people.
That and it's fun bashing the rotten Apple as well. :D
42. E.N. posted on 01 Sep 2011, 04:20 0
Some bashing and criticism can actually be funny. Like the "I want an iPhone 4" video that spread throughout youtube was pretty freaking hilarious.
But where's the funny in your comment? People are drinking to relax because the OS is so limited? What?
50. remixfa posted on 01 Sep 2011, 09:01 1
howabout they were drinking to relax because they cant take off their Jobs control leash until the work day is over.
57. 530gemini posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:08 0
@ilia. What a sad creature you are. You take fun in bashing? Ewww, android fanboys are really a bunch of low live ghettos. Lol. Thanks for admitting how hateful you are and for showing the readers how ghetto android fanboys are :)
63. darth8ball posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:33 0
Android fanboys are really a bunch of low life ghettos.......and we are the haters.
you are so nice and sweet all the time.
56. 530gemini posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:06 0
@ilia. Says the Apple hater. Why am I not surprised.
You see ilia. The iphone 5 will be another huge success. Which only means, more sleepless nights for you :)
Why do you like torture yourself? Lol.
52. darth8ball posted on 01 Sep 2011, 10:26 0
Are you kidding? Apple would never pay a penny. They would just send their legal pit bulls after everone involved with the leaked info, make them sorry they were ever born, and get away with free advertising for their new device.
51. NeXoS posted on 01 Sep 2011, 10:05 0
I doubt it, Apple is a cheap, stingy ass company.
They don't give anything away to their devs at WWDC.
They nickel and dime their customers with $35 dongles.
They have an arrogant attitude from sheep waiting in line for the "opportunity" to buy their products.
58. 530gemini posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:12 0
@nexos. While you're a humble, kindhearted, and soft spoken person, right? NOT.
Apple did give free bumpers when they didn't really have to. Has any OEM done that? Also, are you that destitute that you live off of giveaways or freebies? Hahahaha. Again, just shows how cheap android fanboys are. Always looking for free stuff, lol. Android fanboys need to get good paying jobs like iOS users have :)
65. MAS10X posted on 03 Sep 2011, 19:33 0
Haha you obviously are misguided... Succesful people actually use Blackberries, I'm almost certain even Steve Jobs uses one. He passed on the iPhone cause he actually knows how crappy it is. I know 4 people who work at McDonald's and they own an iPhone. McDonald's = Good Paying Job = NOT!!! EPIC FAIL!!!! @530Gemini
6. som posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:03 2
Apple may used new technology in an old iPhone 4 instead of new iPhone 5 prototype this is why they don't know it was a new iPhone 5.
14. alecgale posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:48 0
thats what i was thinking maybe the iphone 5 looks enough like the iphone 4 that he thought it was one and sold it for that price
8. theBankRobber (unregistered) posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:13 0
Well this is probably going to end up on eBay after a year like the iPhone4 prototype a few months ago. Did that ever sell, last I checked the bid was up to a million dollars so I'm not sure if it was fake or what the hell happened. At least Steve can rest knowing its not posted online with details.
9. jroc74 posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:16 6
Another iPhone lost at a bar?
Riiiight, sure it was....
Folks need to some up with another story. This one's been used before.
10. Jasneet (unregistered) posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:29 0
So it means one of following...
a. Seller on craigslist is fool...not to identify new iPhone 5/4s
b. Apple decided to carry same look/dimentions from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5/4s
13. Lwazi_N posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:41 5
Yeah, what if it's a way for Apple to generate a buzz around the gadget prior to its release... Marketing gimmick...
15. bolaG posted on 31 Aug 2011, 18:49 6
I agree. Sounds like marketing gimmick/iphone publicity to me
18. Chakra posted on 31 Aug 2011, 19:18 5
Or, it could just be an apple marketing plan to build hype.
20. Paden posted on 31 Aug 2011, 19:38 1
We'll know if its true when there's an Apple employee crucified in front of Apple HQ.
24. 530gemini posted on 31 Aug 2011, 20:10 1
What is up with Apple employees with iphone prototypes in bars?
Silly, silly, silly. You would think that they've learned something from last year's fiasco, and here they go again. Unless of course this time it's nothing more than a publicity stunt that Apple pulled to keep the excitement and anticipation going.
38. ilia1986 posted on 31 Aug 2011, 23:51 0
Which would kinda show that the iPhone 5 has nothing behind it, if they are that desperate, don't you think?
Oh, wait - we already KNOW there is nothing on the iPhone 5 which doesn't exist already on early 2011 devices. Except the OS which is insanely limited, that is.
54. 530gemini posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:01 0
@illa. Stop with your hating. Use your common sense. No one would buy the iphone if it's a useless device. And again, I was speculating, but you're already taking it as a fact. Oh well, you'd take any speculation to be a fact if it would work for your hating.
Unlike android OEM's, Apple does not release a dozen phone every year. So of course other OEM's take advantage of that to make it seem like they're ahead. But look at which device latest android devices get compared to. Last year's ip4.
Stop the bitterness. Iphone will continue to rule for a long time.
25. 1234abcd (unregistered) posted on 31 Aug 2011, 21:05 0
Or maybe selling it on Craigslist was just a diverson.. I mean that price is even a little on the cheap side for an iPhone 4..
26. remyrz posted on 31 Aug 2011, 21:13 0
but how couldn't apple track it? :/ iphone sucks! :(
27. digicon posted on 31 Aug 2011, 21:21 0
Maybe Apple bought it from him off of Craigslist . Thus , no reward , no loss , but all the shame ? . .
30. InspectorGadget80 posted on 31 Aug 2011, 21:27 0
Looks like his ass is fired. and who ever find the Iphone protoype and post it on their website will get their place trash fine or a lawsuit just like Jason Chen
33. E.N. posted on 31 Aug 2011, 22:07 0
Nope, still don't. Do explain though. I'd like to know what sheep has anything to do with this.
59. 530gemini posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:14 0
@tmachaveli. You mean "hateful android fanboys". You're dumb to generalize. Oh well, android fanboys = dumb. So what can I expect?
34. Suck it sapple (unregistered) posted on 31 Aug 2011, 22:32 1
I would piss on it then trade it in on a ten year newer android phone haha crapple running that same old weak ass ploy they used last year. They really are looking more desperate esp since jobby jobshas two feet and half an apple in thegrave.
36. Mr.Mr.Upgrade posted on 31 Aug 2011, 23:34 0

@mrmrupgrade. It worked. It caught your attention :)
66. MAS10X posted on 03 Sep 2011, 19:44 0
The story did, just because some iDiot misplaces his prototype of the "NEW" iphone does not necessarily mean everyone is going to go mob the stores in order to get their hands on it.
I'm a Fan of Technology, not of specifics...
43. Policehavenothingbettertodo (unregistered) posted on 01 Sep 2011, 04:25 0
Glad the police have nothing better to do than to protect $teve Job$ and Apple. Maybe they can help me find my lost homework I dropped somewhere. Of course I expect Apple to sue somebody/file criminal charges against some innocent member of the general public. Better yet, why not introduce a bill which would make it a felony if you are in possession anything that $teve disapproves of.
61. 530gemini posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:20 0
Of course. Apple pays billions of dollars of taxes each year. How much taxes do you pay? Lol. And you'd compare your worthless homework to an iphone prototype, hahahahaha. Dumb android fanboys. You guys never fail to confirm your stupidity.
It's more like you're the one who would want to introduce a bill to make it a felony for anyone to like iDevices, not Steve.
67. MAS10X posted on 03 Sep 2011, 19:46 0
And exactly from what part of @Policehavenothingbettertodo posting, do you assume he is an android fanboy?
