Apple deletes forum threads about Consumer Reports article

If a story is printed in a national magazine but any reference to it is deleted by Apple, did the story really get printed in the first place?...

apple wont recall the iphone... it will be to big for them, very expensive... steve is hungry for money. in the end maybe they will offer their bumpers for free... why do you think they were made in the 1st place?... they knew about this problem... but they were trying to solve the problem with money.. MORE EARNINGS for them. they thought that every iSheep will buy a bumber... BOOM, problem solved... lame apple... lame.... i dont know why apple fans still believe that being an apple slave its cool?

i completly agree. The test units would of had the same problem as the actual units so they knew that there was a gripping/antenna problem before it launched. More than likely they had already started mass producing it before it came to light, and didnt want to dump a shipment of iphone4's and lose money. They probably assumed they could bully the customer by telling them to hold the phone differently and get a rubber skin and make more money off them. Alot of people did that.. and a lot more arent going to buy it. Instead of quality control, they did greed control.

I think Apple should just suck up their pride and recall the phones and just freaking coat the antenna or something. But if they keep playing this game they're playing, they probably won't lose much money but they'll take a big hit in their public perception, which is more important in the long run.
10. DonkeyPunched (Posts: 321; Member since: 10 Jan 2010)
That's true. But there are still a lot of people buying the phone despite the problems. I told my friend about the issue that's been reported, but he still wanted to get one. Its kind of like a preference thing, something that has been discussed a bunch one this site. I wonder what they can do about this because you're right. I think if more people run into this situation, the next iPhone will be completely ruined. Well, not completely, but you know what I mean.

E.N. if I didn't know you better it seems to me ya finally seeing the light of day when it come to apple. Well congrats!

I still love iPhone, I'm just really surprised with Apple. I don't see why they are going through all these pains to hide something that's so blatant. I want them to do something so I won't have to return my iPhone 4. If they don't want to recall 2 million iPhones then the least they can do is produce 2 million bumpers. I mean how long are they going to keep this up?

Apple sucks. How the hell do consumers take this kind of abuse and keep buying Apple products? What are you stupid? You're like a beaten wife who insists he only hits you cus he loves you, then when no one buys that you just spout more nonsense defending your abuser. I like Android, and I liked Samsung, but Samsung shat on it's consumers by not updating to 2.1 like they advertised on the Behold 2. So like any smart capitalist I vote with my dollar and I'll never buy a Samsung product till they make it right. Be critical over Apple maybe then he'll hit you less.

they made it right.. they made the galaxy S instead :)
11. DonkeyPunched (Posts: 321; Member since: 10 Jan 2010)
It's called preference. A lot of people prefer the iPhone os over the android. Android isn't everyones favorite, including me, but I'm geeky enough to look into this situation and actually wait. I'm also guessing that most people haven't heard of the situation because they don't follow up phones like us who go this site. I think the inky way forbpeople to understand is if the phone issue was advertised on facebook and AOL lol.

@Doakie Thats was funny. A beaten wife who insists he only hits you cuz he loves you. That's an instant classic.

Everyone remember this day..From now on when an Isheep says "Apple has the best QC, the best service, and they back their products 100%!" point them to the iphone 4...
14. *HOVA* (Posts: 564; Member since: 11 Dec 2008)
I'll agree the backing hasn't been there yet. Apple is a huge company and I'm sure it's a matter of time before they come up with some sort of solution. Problem for some is how long that wait will be. Apple has the reputation you're commenting on for a reason. If you don't agree with it, it's probably because you're just being a hater.

Yea, sure, crApple will fix it. Keep telling yourself that. If they were as good as you say this wouldn't be in the news...
24. rfrapp (Posts: 73; Member since: 10 Jun 2010)
See, if Apple was planning at all to fix this issue then they would have said that they were working on it. But did they? No. They just took the half assed road and told all of their customers to buy another one of their products so that the Iphone could do something that it was supposed to do in the first place! Apple you piss me off to no end.
25. Cali_E (Posts: 196; Member since: 24 Sep 2008)
+1 to ihatecrapple. these people are f#$king retarded. i mean really? how are they going to fix it? it would cost the company an arm and a leg to do anything that would actually "fix" it. garbage, its just plain garbage. They'll drop a crappy iPhone 5 before they "fix" the 4. and the sad thing is people will continue to wet theyre panties for the smartphone for dumb people
9. CHEFJEFF (Posts: 136; Member since: 22 Sep 2009)
Apple/Steve Jobs will NEVER admit they released a flawed product. And they will do anything they can to hide the truth from the people out there that may still want an iPhone4. A recall of this device would cause too much embarresment for them, so they will continue to spin the story to make their device look perfect.
12. DonkeyPunched (Posts: 321; Member since: 10 Jan 2010)
It's not that they won't admit it yet, but something this huge has to looked into, considering the massive amount of units bought. Yes, it's clear to us, but there are others who haven't experienced this yet, so they minus well wait till they have a fix. I think they just admitted recently about a product they that they are allowing free repairs, but it didn't sell like the iPhone did.
13. DonkeyPunched (Posts: 321; Member since: 10 Jan 2010)
Ps, maybe they will give everyone $100 gift cards like they did with the first iPhone where people got pissed they lowered the price so effin fast.

Very lame on the part of Apple to "cover-up" the issues and delete posts about negative reviews from reputable sources...Consumer Reports would absolutely recommend the device if the antenna issue was fixed. I really do hope that they can do something on the production line to fix the issue. Aside from the defect many people are noticing that this is indeed the best iPhone all around and are getting better reception... However, too many people are "iSheep" for Consumer Reports...they will only buy cars, computers, and electronics that Consumer Reports recommends...that is the lamest thing of all

Very bad move for apple. they have to understand that the truth will come out eventually.
21. jherz6 (Posts: 215; Member since: 23 May 2008)
Yes the truth will come out, and when it does can you say class action lawsuit? People will want to return the iphone in droves. People who are past the grace period will s. o. l. Apple knew there was a problem and they released it anyway. Did they honestly think people would think a software reconfig would fix the problem? Dee di Dee! Once this really hits the news Apple wont be able to give the 4g away.
23. wade1968 (Posts: 224; Member since: 12 Apr 2010)
steve jobs just come out and say it. you push the Iphone 4 out before it was ready.
26. WirelessCritic (Posts: 7; Member since: 30 Nov 2009)
I don't understand why everyone comes to this site to complain about Apple. If you don't like them then don't come in here to spout of about them. For people who claim to hate Apple and everything they put out, some people on here seem to spend a lot of time thinking and talking about them.
28. wade1968 (Posts: 224; Member since: 12 Apr 2010)
i am not complaining about apple.I try to be unbias in my opinion to get all cell phone manufaturers to make a rugged phone for all to enjoy.apple is just the one company that is on here the most.
