The thing I find most intersting is that really, Apple ultimately has ONE phone out with ONE carrier. True, there's the 3G and 3GS variants, but really they're just different variations of the same phone. Meanwhile, BB has how many devices with how many carriers??? That taken into accout it's absolutely crazy to think that Apple is so close to them. Apple haters need to take note and suck it. Numbers don't lie.

Very good point. If Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile got the iPhone, RIM's Market Share would easily be taken over by Apple. That is pretty crazy to think about. One Thing: There is not a jump in Palm's Market Share at the time the Pre was released... Is this accurate, or was the Pre that bad of a flop?
3. theman10 posted on 28 Oct 2009, 14:06 0 0
That was such a crappy argument that I honestly thought you were saying how much the iphone sucks. The Iphone is a good phone, no denying it. ATT sucks though. Anyway, calm down.
4. *HOVA* posted on 28 Oct 2009, 14:07 0 0
I just noticed that Pam issue too. One thing though, it did level out as opposed to continuing to plummet... I think the same would hold true with the Pre though, if it were available with more carriers there numbers would most likely fare better as well. Oh, and theman10?.. If you thought that was an argument for how the iPhone sucks, you're clearly an idiot and NOT theman...

One device and one carrier means that you are only portraying this to one specific group. It is a basic law of Statistics, maybe if you had moved out of your mom's house and gone to college you would understand what I was saying. *HOVA*
7. *HOVA* posted on 28 Oct 2009, 14:41 0 0
First of all, what does what you just said have to do with you saying I'm arguing the iPhone sucks??? Second of all, another basic law of statistics is that being available from multiple locations would obviously increase the scope of customers they can reach, hence further their lead over BB. Are you really this dumb? You yourself said the iPhone is a great phone so WTF are you talking about? Never did I say a word about ATT. I know you're trying to sound really educated but you appear to be falling quite short...

Nokia got jealous started to sue Apple to make up Nokia lost of profit. The US carriers must stop buying Nokia phones until Nokia stop the lawsuit against American company Apple.

It just shows you how many iPhone sheep there really are. Most of them in the United States. Here's a statistic for you.... 30% of Americans think the earth is flat...hmmm same number as iPhone users. Hey Hova....don't fall off the edge buddy
10. hkphooey posted on 28 Oct 2009, 15:41 0 0
Phonearena shows their stupidity again... The chart indicates RIM is pretty steady. If iPhone was really eating into RIM sales going from 17% to 30%.... RIM would have gone from 42% to 29%.... SIMPLE MATH PEOPLE. If anything, iPhone took away Palm sales. That chart just says there is plenty of room for all phones.... damn Phonearena, get some intelligent writers please.

Well if you truly look at the data you'll also see that RIM has had a constant DECLINE since January. The fact that it's not much is true, but nonetheless, it's been a decline the entire year. Fact is, Apple is the only manufacturer in the study who's had ANY increase, and the increase is incredible. If you're gonna bring fighting words, try to bring better facts then idiocratic statistics like ".. 30% of Americans think the earth is flat..Hmmm same number as iPhone users." You need to step up your game and stop being petty.
12. theman10 posted on 28 Oct 2009, 16:01 0 0
Idiocratic-peculiar in constitution or temperament. Nice try smart-guy. Like I said go back to school *HOVA* the word you are looking for it idiotic. Also, THAN idiotic, not then idiotic.
13. *HOVA* posted on 28 Oct 2009, 16:09 0 0
Oh theman, I can see I'm gonna have a great time with your comments. Will you now look up the definition for temperament? As you pointed out - idiocratic is peculiar in consititution OR temperament. Do you think you can tell the class how that portion of the definition of the word would work with the way I used it in my sentence? You might just get a GOLD STAR today if you can!!!! BTW, great use of a dictionary, you're headed in the right direction you smart one you.
14. hkphooey posted on 28 Oct 2009, 16:29 0 0
I'm sorry, iPhone fanboys are by definition "petty" Fact is, LG and HTC also had huge increases in sales. In fact their increases doubled Apple's. Just because I find correlation between flat-earthers and iPhone users does not mean I'm bringing "fighting" words. Maybe if you weren't a sophomoric, you'd understand sarcasm. It isn't my fault you and other iPhonearena people can't seem to read a simple graph (after all 17% of Americans can't even read....I guess I can count you in that statistic)
17. Fanboys Suck posted on 28 Oct 2009, 16:55 0 0
Ooooh! Let me throw a couple cents at you all! For the record, it isn't this past January that RIM's Market Share has steadily (yet Slowly) fallen... It is since January 2008. Also, it seems like we all efficaciously comprehend how to adequately utilize dictionary.com and synonym.com... @hkphooey: Regarding your comment (15), "...I can definitely afford Apple products. I just think iPhone faggit followers/defenders are idiotic and imature...and basically all around losers." , you seem a bit immature upirself... Just Sayin'.
18. theman10 posted on 28 Oct 2009, 17:20 0 0
Obviousl I used a dictionary just so I could tell you exactly how wrong you were. I knew you were wrong and I pointed it out, calm down. Just trying to help you to get your point across, it's pretty hard to understand when you are reading straight ignorance.
19. *HOVA* posted on 28 Oct 2009, 17:26 0 0
So is your answer to my question: no you don't see how it works in the sentence?... If by sophomoric you mean informed and opinionated then that's your opinion. I just get sick of the ridiculous comments on this board that pertain to nothing other then fanboy idealisms and it's nice to finally stir up some actual valid, supported comments... for the most part.
25. hkphooey posted on 28 Oct 2009, 19:10 0 0
true dat, but then again, I'm having fun at Hova's expense so it is understandable ;)
26. vzw fanman posted on 28 Oct 2009, 20:10 0 0
this is isn't a board hova. we are just commenting on various news articles. if you want the forum it's on another part of this site. :-) what does sophomoric mean??
15. hkphooey posted on 28 Oct 2009, 16:33 0 0
And for the record, I am not an iPhone hater. I have the 1st gen iPhone, 32GB iPod Touch and a Macbook Pro. I can definitely afford Apple products. I just think iPhone faggit followers/defenders are idiotic and imature...and basically all around losers.
28. YouLostTheGame posted on 28 Oct 2009, 21:54 0 0
So can we all imply from your own words that when you tell us you have a first gen iPhone, that you are in fact a "faggit"? Chill out bro, there's more to life than a comment board!

Meh I don't trust that statistics, iPhone users might be growing but hey did all customers suck up to AT&T price? Or are they using iPhone on T-Mobile and Verizon? Still I do not believe a lot of Americans own an iPhone I mean can a worker with a $6.50/hr own an iPhone?
29. YouLostTheGame posted on 28 Oct 2009, 21:55 0 0
Sure! They can OWN an iPhone; whether or not they can actually afford the monthly service fees or not is another question entirely!
20. theman10 posted on 28 Oct 2009, 17:33 0 0
Formal apology. The first guy had a very good argument and so did HOVA I didn't read the article. It is impressive that Apple does that from only one market. Sorry everyone.
30. YouLostTheGame posted on 28 Oct 2009, 21:57 0 0
Wait a sec. So you didn't read the article, and just scrolled down to the comments section and started flying off the handle? How old are you?

From my experience the iphone is the dumbest of all smart-phones. It cant multi-task, and its just a grid patterned desktop that is hardly customizable. The fact that such a stupid smart-phone can be gaining popularity shows that the average consumer isn't smart enough to be given the option to customize without it confusing them and them screwing it up. Seems to be the same problem people have with windows computers, the average non-PC savvy person gets infected with virus' because they don't know to stay away from retarded websites, opening penis enlargement emails, or clicking on the sexy girl in the pop up ad. People are too stupid that they have to be protected from themselves. Apple is good at that, thats why their phones are gaining traction in the world. That or they are all retards who fall for the hype in the commercials. Have fun with your iphone idiots. Or forget what I just said and head back into your cool world where all us non apple owners are idiots, btw theres an app for that. PS and dont give me some BS "macs dont have viruses " its because no one is writing viruses in hopes of infecting 5.12% of the computers out there, they want to infect the most which is windows machines at 92.77% market share. Just a question, what do you use multi-tasking for on a daily basis that it's a requirement for your phone? I guess the only thing I've ever used that would require multi-tasking is listening to music while using other apps. Outside of this every other app I have does what I need it to with no multi-tasking required. I hear this argument alot yet I don't hear any reason people really need multi-tasking. It's a nice luxury.... maybe, but I don't see a real NEED.
24. hkphooey posted on 28 Oct 2009, 19:10 0 0
How about you answer this question? How many of the 1000,000 apps do you actually use? Do you have all 1000 fart apps on your phone? How about the 1200 different Calendars? I bet you have that I Haz Kittens app doncha? Maybe the zippo lighter app?

i use multitasking everyday. I just hold the bb button and scroll and i can have tons of apps open at once. oh wait the iphone only has one sole button. please apple for your 4th iphone change the boring design up a bit.
31. YouLostTheGame posted on 28 Oct 2009, 22:04 0 0
I'm with HOVA. I used to be one of those people that ragged on the iPhone's inability to "multi-task" but the longer I've had my BB, the more I realize that I don't do that much of it. In fact I usually find that if I have a bunch of apps open, I end up leaving one or more open throughout the day, due to the fact that I get involved in other things, like work, class, family, etc. And to *kilari*, I'll keep my Mac with it's "lowly" share of the market and lack of viruses. I can't stand all the bullshit anti-virus software on EVERY fucking PC I ever use! Those programs are always popping up while I'm in the middle of typing a paper, or launching a program. Say what you want, but Apple's products just...work. But don't get me started on how much I can't stand ATT! Ugh, VZW for life!
