Apple is thinking about producing a new app that will not only show movie times, but will also integrate the information with your calendar and schedule; the location-based app was the center of an application for a patent filed by Apple for "Systems and Methods for Providing Context-Based Movie Information"...

Wow, this is pretty badass, there are many movie time apps, but none that work like I like it, hopefully this integrated system works out great

this is a really neat idea however the only downside i see is its effectfulness on iphones in which people dont regularly use their calender. I would say as of right now Fandango offers the best app for showtimes and purchasing tickets.

I agree. This is a good idea, but can't see myself using it very much. The Flixter app is all I really need.

Well the patent was filed over a year ago so perhaps Apple agrees with you too and decided it wasnt cost effective at the time to launch it for the amount of buzz the feature would create.
