Apple changes copy on its web site; Apple Maps is no longer "the most powerful" mapping service

No more is Apple proclaiming its new Apple Maps to be the"most powerful mapping service ever" and after Tim Cook's apology Apple has changed the copy on Apple's website to something that could be considered more truthful after the 'Great iOS 6 mapping application disaster of 2012'...

I know right. "no longer" What? It never was!, and never will be! Well if you count when they had Google maps it was.

"Apple Maps: The Worst Half-Baked, Google EnviOus, Mapless dAtAbAseless ever. We at Apple regret our iNcompetence."

It will take light years before apple able to compete with Google maps. Now they are too desperate, hiring some ex employee who worked before in Google maps.
Have any one check the icon of apple maps? Their is something weird, is that yellow color is a river? Just check for yourself...

Hell, Apple's maps is really powerful, it can deform roads and bridges, and it can swipe clean whole cities.
Apple just doesn't need to go thermonuclear, just make their maps to do the job. LOL

ThE piC clearly shows a navigation route making a sharp left off a bridge. - lol. That's what the new Apple Maps will do fOr iFans !!

What I find funny tho....how could Apple even claim its the most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever....
When you have Google Maps and Nokia maps out there? What about stand alone GPS devices? Map, GPS apps/software like iGO? Which reminds me.....I'm surprised Apple didnt sue iGO yet...

I think this is a very good behavior from apple
6. Pings posted on 29 Sep 2012, 15:06 15 0
Yea I would say so. They usually deny problems, or blame it on the user. The funny thing is I'm not trolliing they've done both more than once.
29. 305Bucko posted on 29 Sep 2012, 21:16 4 2
They did have a choice. They opted not to do it Steve Jobs way. They are actually admitting to mistakes. Thats an honorable thing to do whether you hate them or not.

Maps is included in their new software update, iOS 6, but why is it they still telling the world that iOS is "the world most advanced mobile operating system", while their new maps failed?! Their iOS is also far behind with Android in terms in features and functionality, even windows phone has a lot to offer compared also.
Here is another one, "And even as others try to catch up, the technologies and features built into iOS keep your Apple devices years ahead." Everybody knows that those technologies and features Apple referring to are already been used by most Android phones. "And even others try to catch up", are they referring to themselves?!
I think this kind of information or Apple's marketing strategy should be removed or stop also coz it's just fooling the consumers. They already want to stop the competition, now they want to fool the consumers. Well in the end still Apple continue to do this kind of strategies, money is important matters to them, but as a consumer, not only having the best gadgets or technologies, the company producing it should at least be truthful and knows what consumers needs most.
I'm glad apple removed it but still not enough, still many things apple should take into consideration.

i disagree… its common advertising rhetoric that every big-business company in the US uses…
i mean its not like Sprint, Tmobile, ATT, and Verizon all have the "fastest 4g network"… just like Google, Apple, and Microsoft dont all have the best os…
the entire point of advertising is to tout the product and make consumers want to buy it… if apple products were so horrible to consumers, said consumers would NOT buy the product again, and, as many android fans love to say, apple relies on somewhat of a cult.. this "appeasement" in a way will not work for apple, and as a business perspective, they should just barrel through it-- all this does is lead to further attacks
nobody can create such a large business on pure advertising.. they clearly create products the general public wants (whether they are the best or not, the public wants it).. so why should people not get what they want?
and for the record I think the app store is what is saving ios right now over wp… were it not for the atrocious app selection, i would immediately switch to wp8

i know you would disagree. and its not common advertising rhetoric. GOOGLE still labels maps in beta despite being it one of the best/or probably the best maps services ever. thats is Google. also they dont patent something just because they made a sketch of it.

I dunno, Alan. They say that iOS is the most advanced mobile operating system.. Maybe they never heard of Android.. oh wait - they did. All the zillion lawsuits and stuff.
Misleading the public? Nah. That ain't Apple. Never ever. /bucket of sarcasm

There is a lot of trouble happened with those new announced phone. Nokia submit the fake video and Ios6 the map. I think there is someone from Android is trying to settle this two company from claimming the crown. Since Samsung is the crown i think it will be samsung. Samsung even tease Apple with videos and poster about their S3 and Iphone5

It is the most powerful mapping service. Google updates its map and none cares.. Apple releases a beta version and Apple haters and Apple lovers have been talking about it.. good or bad it will make users actually use it.. making it better in the process
35. whysoserious posted on 30 Sep 2012, 00:47 1 0
Are you delusional? And since when did Apple claim it as a beta version?
54. gallitoking posted on 30 Sep 2012, 21:59 0 1
well in the mobile world you dont have too. Android does al the time.. Honeycomb was in beta stage at time of release and could go on and on. this

wtf P.A so because my comment was against an apple troll and apple it gets reported, yet you let all the apple trolls comment whatever they want about android and windows......and you wonder why people call you biased
and again google and nokia maps will always be ahead
34. whysoserious posted on 30 Sep 2012, 00:44 1 0
F**k you Apple! Your own map never became the most beautiful and powerful in the first place.
36. yajia1 posted on 30 Sep 2012, 01:03 0 2
This is sad for Apple. If only Google did let Apple have the turn-by-turn navigation it offers on Android, they wouldn't need to create their own. But Google didn't. I love Android, but Google is becoming greedy. Maybe this is one of the reasons Apple is claiming their right for the bounce-back and pinch/tap-to-zoom. You won't let us use turn-by-turn? We won't let you use bounce-back, pinch-zoom! Lol. Jk!
37. Amro_ posted on 30 Sep 2012, 01:22 1 1
Yeah it happened EXACTLY in that order. Google didn't let Apple use turn-by-turn navigation so Apple started sueing everyone for bounce and pinch to zoom.
45. yajia1 posted on 30 Sep 2012, 09:57 0 0
Yes definitely. Turn-by-turn navigation has been on my Android phone since 2009.

49. myclevername posted on 30 Sep 2012, 15:35 0 0
Could Apple be sued for false advertising since they obviously made a few knowingly false statements about the ability of their new mapping features during the product launch which then would have influenced pre orders and sales of the new phone? I'm going to have to go back and watch the product presentation video and see what they presented.
