It has been a year since Apple's co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs passed away after a long battle with cancer and his successor paid tribute to him by putting up a message and a video on Apple's web site; whether you liked him or not, you have to agree that the world is a less interesting place without him...

I don't mean to be a downer, and I'm being totally respectful towards Steve's death as well as all his successes in life. But you guys do realize Steve was a Buddhist, so if Jesus was accurate in his statement that "the only way to heaven is through me" Steve wouldn't end up in Christian heaven.
On top of that Buddhists don't believe in heaven in a simple "better place with God" style as Christians do. Their upper levels of existence are less physical that the human world, therefore I'm pretty sure computers, tablets and smartphones don't exist there. :-) Here's a quote from a site explaining Buddhist levels of existence.
"Above the human plane are the Deva and Brahma planes. As the level of plane becomes higher, more subtle is the state of existence and longer is the life span.
The Devas have physical forms which are composed of more subtle material than that in the human plane. They enjoy a life of great sense pleasure and may possess supernormal powers.
The Brahma planes are described as form and formless states. In the formless states, the beings are devoid of any material bodies. They transcends all physical sensations and are said to exist in a state of equanimity. "
Either way let's all just agree that we hope he's in a better place and we're thankful for his contribution to the computer, tablet, and smartphones industries. Steve you will go down in the history books.

Thank you for your comment. Unlike 98% of PA comments (mine here included) that just take up space and have no weight, your comment was very much worth reading.

A severely flawed human being wouldn't make the impact he did.
You on the other hand seem to take this phone stuff to a while other level.

It is funny how I can despise and hate Apple for their constant state of litigation related to the iphone, yet at the same time have nothing but the utmost respect for Tim Cook and Apple for this great tribute to their fallen king! Rest in peace, Steve!

Talking about Apple, Steve Jobs was really good marketing specialist but nothing more! And now Apple just artificially increasing hype about Steve Jobs personality because they want to mystify people in order to attract more attention...

Right? He was a good salesman, but an absolutely despicable human being. I shall continue to not mourn his passing.

As my tribute to Steve...i am going to dislike every comment against him...and like every comment for him....
even though i hate apple...and the iphone....i truely respect steve jobs....he revolutionised the tech industry, not only with the iphone and the ipad which drove other market players to make new and better phones and tablets, but most people also forget that Steve is also the man behind Pixar....
He was a true visionary no matter what way you look at it...
21. theBankRobber (Posts: 645; Member since: 22 Sep 2011)
So did u dislike my comment because I said its a twice a year celebration? Hey if you celebrate the birth and death of someone then that's OK with me but don't tumbsdown me for stating the truth. NOBODY says hey someone died today lets always make it that day they died. How about the day they made it better

Whatever Mr. Jobs was in this world, but one thing is sure he was too good at whatever he did.......whether it was marketing his products, introducing new products or making old products in different way, he did everything with perfection, mesmmerising everybody by his presentation and making people go mad after his products. He was True visionary, whether you all agree with me or not, but this man really changed the smartphone industry................. He will always live among us through his products................ And I don't understand everybody's hate for this man......??? If he was bad because he wanted his company to be successful, then my friends every fortune 500 companies are led by more evil people than him, corporate world is full of evil people............ Don't think that Google, samsung or any other companies heads are saints, they must have done more evil things than him, but maybe we must not be knowing about it.
If you hate him that doesn't mean, you should be disrespectfull to him even in his death. Humanity doesn't teaches us this.............. So please my friends for a moment leave your hatred aside, and think for a moment what he did for IT industry, and pay him homage whicg h every respectable person deserve from respectable human being.............. RIP Steve, may you be revolutionizing and making the heaven more tech oriented................)

the readers here are SAD... you guys LOVE android sooooooo much that you can't scroll pass an article reverencing a man's death...
if i could suggest something PhoneArena... i would say in certain news articles it would probably be best to lock the comments. there's no need for it to be open for people to disrespect someone's life... yeah HATE the product HATE the business practices but draw the line when it comes to life...
