App for Acer Iconia Tab A500 and Acer Iconia Tab A 501 helps users update to Android 4.0

Acer Iconia Tab A500

A few days ago we told you that some users of the Acer Iconia Tab A500 had already received the Android 4.0 update for their tablet. If you own this tablet and have not yet received the update, or if you carry around the Acer Iconia Tab A501, there is an app that Acer suggests that you install. The app, called ICONIA TAB update enhancement, can be found in the Google Play Store as a free download.

If the app shows that it has already been installed when you navigate to its page on the Google Play Store, then you are all set and it is just a matter of waiting for the update to hit your tablet. On the other hand, if the prompt says "download", it means that you need to install the app on your tablet. Once the app is installed, you will receive an alert when the Android 4.0 update is available for you to download. You can check out the video below for more information.
