Looks basically like the One with on-screen buttons.
I sincerely hope they did fix their horrible build quality with this one.

Never said such thing, just that the HTC One has one of the worst build quality ever. And the lowest ifixit repairibility score..

I've never experienced any of these issues. My One has been absolutely fantastic, I just wish we offered the One Max, because I'd try to get it on my COU line fo sho.

are you serious?? it is not even close to the original One in terms of beauty. it is definitely NOT the m8. Stupid htc logo placement, ugly rounded corners and upper speaker grills being smaller than the lower ones are clear steps back from its predecessor... so it is FAKEEEEE

No joke, that's a fat chunk of bezel for just a logo.

They just literally stretched One to make this. And does anybody else think that it looks worse than it's older brother?

Looks like a mini to me. Relative size of the logo,
relative width of the top speaker grill.
The two silver parts are differently curved
than the One and the One mini altho they look
allmost of same height. Like arcs of bigger circles,
more iphon-y (i see sueing coming)

What's the point of on screen buttons
when sooo much space on bottom?

It might be there for ergonomic reasons.

that's not the point
how can you even have a "leaked" image if it claims to be fake? it's a contradiction of terms.
are random graphic designer's dreamed up concept pictures "leaked?"
it's like going through the process of counterfeiting money and then telling the bank it's fake when you go to deposit it

The One's specs were essentially on par with the S4? Did it sell well? Same with the One X & S3. Sounds like a broken record.

I feel like such a downer for saying it, but it's weird when they make the phones assymetric. Not to mention they could have skipped the on-screen buttons if they were going for a notable HTC One-like bezel at the bottom anyway.

You need to stop ruining winning concepts, HTC. The devil is always in the details.

Looks very nice this is my next phone it the camera is better than last year's. But where the HTC logo is, is a large waste of space making a very large bezel between the end of the screen & the bottom of the phone.

Yeah seems fake to me too.

If you look at the bottom left (speaker grill), it seems all smudged/blurry like it was edited.

Not really buying this pic, to be honest.

If this is genuine then why on earth would they move the buttons on screen when they have kept the lower bezel for the logo. It would make the move to a 5 inch screen pretty much pointless. Would end up with a bigger more uncomfortable phone for same real terms screen real estate as the last one. Hope it's fake.

The black vertically aligned object next to the top speaker and between the camera is the sensor array. This transparent glass cover protects the ambient light sensor and the proximity sensor array. These are found on all modern smartphones.

The black dot to the left of the earpiece on any iPhone 5 model. Or the black oval above the earpiece on any iPhone 4 model.
The oval array to the right of the front camera on a LG Flex or G2.
The arrangement of two dots to the right of the earpiece on any Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Mega, or S4.
The similar arrangment of two dots to the left of the top speaker on the HTC One & One Mini.
Just to list phones most people would own.

Most photo shop jobs don't include this sensor array as most graphic designers are not aware of the need for this hardware. Just something that readers can quickly look for, not a definitive resolution, when investigating those pesky leaks and video demonstrations that are too good to be true.

I think the reason to this is to maintain uniformity and not alienate fans who liked the design of the previous generation and have a radically different design. I agree I would like manufacturers to experiment more on the design side. But this is the case with most if not all phones like the Xperia line from the Z, HTC one, galaxy s line galaxy s3, nexus line from galaxy nexus, lumia line from Nokia lumia 900, iPhone 4 etc

Agree, but some changes needed... You can`t copy the old and say that this is for brand awareness .. It's not right. People just afraid to experiment, but to strive for this is necessary.
