Another claim that Nokia has replaced its N9-00 MeeGo QWERTY slider with something else

The probability that a phone with a physical keyboard won't be Nokia's first MeeGo device is getting bigger by the day. The codename of the new MeeGo thing, the Nokia N9-01, is said to be "Lankku", which means board in Finnish, so it might as well be a slate device...

"200MHz with 512MB dedicated memory,"
Again this fantastic feature for a phone:). PC's have maximum 1.5 GB GPU dedicated RAM:).
And with 1.6GHz processor?! Must be a tablet. A phone can't cope with the heat from that.
Anyway, if so, Nokia is out from the phone market soon.

don't get too excited - it's Intel Atom integrated GPU, which sucks regardless of the 512MB GPU RAM. If inside is Intel's Oak Trail dual-core Atom platform, then we are talking, but it's not hitting until Spring, so we will have to wait for this phone till the summer if it's dual-core...

If it were a tablet, then it would have had a high screen resolution!
Dam i wanted that N9-00 with the QWERTY keyboard so badly! Nokia HAS to have some super phone launched this year, quad core hd screen and everything your mind can imagine, or else its time for me, a 8 year Nokia ONLY user, to switch to something else...Im still using my N95....the best phone ever created that NEVER got a true successor.

Well this sucks ass if it's true. I was really looking forward to finally getting a QWERTY keyboard on my phone again. I'm sick and tired of tapping on my screen to type. There is simply nothing better than the feeling of pressing an actual key. How long before they finally do decide to come out with one?

I can see why Nokia is looking away from the qwerty keyboard aspect of the phone. If you see the market the way it is now most smartphones don't have keyboards and most consumers don't look for the keyboard function anymore. Not saying that there isn't a market out there for it but if Nokia introduces a powerhouse of a touch screen handset it will probably sell well and make way for a keyboard handset. After all its all about the bottom line and adding a keyboard on a handset might not be too cost effective.

Maybe Nokia could be a hardware developer and have the devices be flexible in what OS it comes with, so it could be booted for WP7, Android, MeeGo, or whatever else comes next. Heck, I'm sure XDA could find a way to make something run ios if they cared to
