Angry Birds Go! review, or how annoying in-app purchases can actually be

On Wednesday, Rovio launched its newest game featuring everyone's favorite wingless avians. It is called Angry Birds Go! and it is unlike anything we've seen from the Finnish developer so far. Like it or not, this time there's no flinging anything at a barricaded mob of grinning piggies. Rovio is presenting us with a cute and colorful kart racing game instead, presumably in effort to spice up its massively popular franchise. Curious to know what Rovio has put together this time, we downloaded the game right after it was made available. Here's what we have to say about it...

I Hate IAP. They ruin everything. I would have paid $10 dollars for Dead Trigger 2. But no, Madfinger has me waiting about 3 more REAL DAYS to virtually build my M4 that I paid 200,000 in game cash to buy....

OMG they ruined a potentially perfect game (Dead Trigger 2) with all that IAP crap. and waiting 3 days to purchase stuff.
Angry Birds Go! really isn't that bad. you dont necessarily have to buy anything and waiting for your bird to rest is an indicator that you dont need to be playing games on your phone all day.

i got really excited when i heard about this game. I thought: 'Finally!!! A decent Mario Cart copy that will run smoothly on Android.' But immedatly got put off when i heard about how many IAPs there were in the game. For this reason, i didnt even bother installing it, knowing it was gonna be crap

This game is really fun on one hand, Rovio clearly has nailed the gameplay, and the short courses work great for mobile phones, since it shouldnt take more than 2 minutes to play through a level. I also like its unique soap box derby style, as opposed to just doing a mario kart ripoff. However, the energy system really hurts it as well as the lack of courses. Its a 9 out of 10 game as far as gameplay but it's a 3 out of 10 as far as how bad those aspects are, so it averages out to a 6.
