This lives system is perfect for casual players. If your out of lives, just do your usual things first like living a life.

I sorta kinda hate this "lives" system, but I think of it in a traditional gaming sense. With home consoles and computer games, people frequently will spend several hours for a single session of those, maybe as little as an hour. The games as such are tailored to that experience. Then handheld games tend to be shorter, but people may spend up to a couple hours at once on a handheld game, although maybe as little as 15 minutes. Then phone games are the shortest, some games are literally meant to be played for just 5 minutes or less at once, and playing for longer than a half hour in a session isn't very common.
When you think of it as how an average mobile gamer plays, it isn't that bad. The average player isnt playing for such an extended period of time that they will be stuck at the paywall. There are times when that paywall is pretty obvious to us, but the average player is just oblivious to it since they are only playing a little bit at a time, and it will probably be at least a couple hours before they play again.
