HTC has done 2 things that turned me away. The first is no longer putting any effort in landscape keyboard slider phones. The second one, the deal breaker, is no SD card on the One S.

Congrats Android and Samsung and to other android phone manufacturers also. Open source till the end. Both of you already provides us consumers better products, services and most especially more choices. That's what we want as consumers, choices, unlike others failed to do so.

I have an iphone 5 and love apple but I think if I went to android I'd rather go with an htc like the one x +. Thing looks so cool and the one x feels great and sturdy. Samsung feels cheap

From the table, I can see that galaxy s3 failed to penetrate samsung shares and android share, while the iPhone 5 manage to penetrate to 2% more of Apple share in just one month... Nice try fandroid for back pedaling :)

Wow very nice for Android! But I do think that the probable reason behind this is because there are a lot of low-mid range Android devices out there. ICS and JB are yet to have 40% of all Androids meaning 60% are still in Gingerbread, Eclair, etc. and all those are low-mid range phones. What's nice with Android is the wide scope. They try to reach each and everyone. Keep up the good work!

The dip in market share ahead of the WP8 release is to be expected. As soon as it was announced sales of existing WP7 handsets dropped as people who want to buy into the platform are holding off for the new high end features like multi-core support and high-res screens. Meanwhile the market size increases so that existing user base makes up a smaller percentage. Now if that trend continues over the next year even after a couple rounds of new hardware then there will be cause for concern. But I would be surprised if that ends up the case, as the new phones do look nice and are capably spec'd. The real barrier for Microsoft is getting people who have adopted Android or iOS to switch as they have probably invested some money into apps that will need to be re-purchased on a new platform. Microsoft should really consider a trade in program. Trade in your Android or iPhone when buying a WP8 phone for a 50 or 100 dollar credit to the WP store when trading in qualifying phones would certainly ease that burden.
