Open source all the way!
Android and samsung are on top and probably will be for a long time to come unless one of our own like lg, htc, etc dethroine them...butyou know that iPhone 5 will never lead!

Remeber all the people taking about the iPhone killer? Where are they now. Those people reminded me of people saying that dual core CPUs in the days of P4s was not going to take over. Just like the people who think the iPad is going to lead in market share for the rest of, forever. It's just a matter of time before Android takes over the tablet market share too. Sorry iFans I know it's hard to understand what is beign said to you when Apple isn't telling you it. But, a few devices can not compet with an OS. Just the way it is sorry.

One iphoney for all? For all who like to conform. How may different flavors of Android depends on the millions of different people using it. Iphoneys are static and boring and for small handed and minded people!

also with Note II, Optimus G, new Razrs and next Nexus its only gonna get better. yeah i know ip5 is selling well but thats insufficient to stop ANDROID.
5. darkkjedii posted on 02 Oct 2012, 15:48 10 1
It should b insufficient being that its one company vs several its also 3 phones vs what? Like 100. The iPhone is doin quite well, and u r rite android is unstoppable...so is iOS. That's y they're 1-2 n the mobile market. No one will kill iOS, and no one will kill the top android phones either. It's a tech world bro, and we the consumer wins. Ip5 and Htc one x give me the best of both worlds.

HTC has done 2 things that turned me away. The first is no longer putting any effort in landscape keyboard slider phones. The second one, the deal breaker, is no SD card on the One S.

Apple should really learn from Google instead of self-proclaiming themselves as innovators.

Apple is controlling 34.4 percent of the total market in the US - they've released 6 phones ever.
I find that impressive. Just sayin.

Congrats Android and Samsung and to other android phone manufacturers also. Open source till the end. Both of you already provides us consumers better products, services and most especially more choices. That's what we want as consumers, choices, unlike others failed to do so.

I have an iphone 5 and love apple but I think if I went to android I'd rather go with an htc like the one x +. Thing looks so cool and the one x feels great and sturdy. Samsung feels cheap
24. yajia1 posted on 03 Oct 2012, 02:53 1 1
Yes. HTC or Moto. I'd never go with a Samsung or an LG. Samsung because of the cheap build quality, LG for poor software support. Funny thing they're both from S.Korea. If Samsung will improve their build quality, Samsung would be the brand to-go.

From the table, I can see that galaxy s3 failed to penetrate samsung shares and android share, while the iPhone 5 manage to penetrate to 2% more of Apple share in just one month... Nice try fandroid for back pedaling :)
21. networkdood posted on 02 Oct 2012, 22:35 0 0
Wrong again - if you think about Sammy is competing, not only with other OSes, but other OEMs that sell the same product. Apple is sold by one company, whose only stronghold is the U.S., and you know what they say about America's edumadacion system...lol
25. yajia1 posted on 03 Oct 2012, 02:59 0 0
Actually no. The good thing about the US though is that telcos are subsidizing your phones for you, so you can get them cheaper. For almost the rest of the world, iPhones cost an arm and a leg, in China, a kidney. Lol. They're not expensive for no reason. Supply and demand. Here in my country, the iPhone5 16gb costs around $1310 and a Galaxy S3 costs around $547. A lot of sheeps everywhere indeed. Well add the fact that iP5 was just released so less supply with high demand = uber high prices.

Wow very nice for Android! But I do think that the probable reason behind this is because there are a lot of low-mid range Android devices out there. ICS and JB are yet to have 40% of all Androids meaning 60% are still in Gingerbread, Eclair, etc. and all those are low-mid range phones. What's nice with Android is the wide scope. They try to reach each and everyone. Keep up the good work!

The dip in market share ahead of the WP8 release is to be expected. As soon as it was announced sales of existing WP7 handsets dropped as people who want to buy into the platform are holding off for the new high end features like multi-core support and high-res screens. Meanwhile the market size increases so that existing user base makes up a smaller percentage. Now if that trend continues over the next year even after a couple rounds of new hardware then there will be cause for concern. But I would be surprised if that ends up the case, as the new phones do look nice and are capably spec'd. The real barrier for Microsoft is getting people who have adopted Android or iOS to switch as they have probably invested some money into apps that will need to be re-purchased on a new platform. Microsoft should really consider a trade in program. Trade in your Android or iPhone when buying a WP8 phone for a 50 or 100 dollar credit to the WP store when trading in qualifying phones would certainly ease that burden.
