Android OTA update to be available today
With the highly anticipated G1 already on the market, T-Mobile has confirmed that it will be getting its first OTA update today. It will provide some undisclosed enhancements and will fix the bug that has hindered users from listening to songs from Amazon.

The current software version is RC19 and to view the version that your G1 has, click Menu - Settings - About Phone - Build Number. The update will consist of RC28. Users will be notified by a text message for the update.

Wow, can't wait to hear all the Android fans back this up, but pretty sure Apple didn't release a firmware update the DAY the iPhone came out. How good is this really gonna be... wait for it... wait for it...

Exactly. Considering how many times Apple has had to update their phones I don't think complaining that someone else did it really fast is going to get you anywhere. Not that I like the G1, or as I like to call it the Fisher-Price phone for grown-ups. Also, I'm not really a fan of Google knowing absolutely everything about my life. Not that I'm a criminal or anything but they are crazy when it comes to data mining. In a perfect world you could just use the phone without a google account and said phone would be a Touch HD. That is the world I someday want to live in.
