Here is a scenario you've probably experienced, just like the majority of the human beings inhabiting the planet: you are at this really cool place and you want to invite a bunch of friends over, but giving them directions on the phone proves as difficult as teaching a cat to bark. Or you are on your way to a rendezvous point and you want someone else to keep track of your location, just so they know when you are about get there. How do you do that with the help of your handset? Well, as with many other things, there is more than one way of sharing your coordinates with someone else, and in this how-to guide, we'll describe several methods of doing that on an Android smartphone...

Why so complex? Check that you have on you GPS/Wifi settings, go to WhatsApp, send a message with your possition to anyone in your list or to a group.
I never really understood the advantage of Latitude.

with latitude enabled any of your ffriend for whom you have given access can view your current location as long as you are connected to internet, or else it will just list your last known location. whereas you have to list your location manually through whatsapp or viber

+1 to use the What's App. I don't want to share my location only when I need to. So latitude is pointless to me, while What's App does the job easily when needed.

You don't even need WhatsApp - through maps I can send my location to anyone.
The thing about Latitude though is that it's automatic. If my wife or kids want to know where I am they just call up maps on their phone or PC. I don't have to send anything.

I wish I knew about this before today....
I was waiting for my kids mother to pick me up, I went somewhere she never been before. She called me while she was already on route. I had to talk her to where I was.
I need to keep this info handy.

Or you can just open the standard text messaging app, click the paper clip icon and press location. Hit send. Done.

I actually find this, and location history very useful. It allows you to backtrack and/or cover for yourself by showing your location history.

I use a free app called KipTrak for Android phone that you can use to monitor. It's free and you can remotely control it's too. It save all your data so that you can see where your kid was yesterday and where he is now.
