Always misplacing your Android phone? Google is about to launch a service called Android Device Manager, which is a website that will help you locate your missing Android handset; in combination with an app that you can install on your phone, Android Device Manager will let your phone ring at its maximum volume...

Thats a good feature. Windows Phone has had this for years.

As well as iOS. Why would Google wait so long to release this? More power to them. Great feature.

Because, contrary to ios and wp, there were already tons of apps to do the same thing. Anyway, it's good to see an official service from google.

Who is talking about windows phone here... Windows phone has to manage 100 users where google has to manage 10,000. so shut up and go back to watching ur sad face on ur live tiles...

Some one has Crazy anger issues i was meerly stateing that Windows phone has had this feature for years. If Google only has to manage only 10,000 users they have problems. Both MS and Google manage MILLIONS of users. BTW... I like my live tiles. They are so lively :)
Go back under your bridge.

I'm sorry but in compare to many years old Cerberus for Android are all the apps for wp and ios just toys ;-)

These security apps should give me the function to make the device play gay porn at max volume and lock the device from being turned off.

Shatter, not sure if it is on Cydia for Android yet, but there is something like that on Cydia iOS. It's hysterical.

Damn, I could've used that app and service a week ago when I lost my Galaxy Note, the barista at Starbucks denied having seen it and further stated that the cameras were only over the register and cashiers. A bunch of thieves they were, probably jealous cuz they all have that other OS, you know, the one that only works with their free wi-fi and is uncustomizable!! Did I just make up a word??
Anyway, got my Note 2 back - accidentally left it at my brother's place. But, boy, was I sweating there for a second (mainly for the memory card). Invested a lot of time downloading bootlegs through tTorrent Pro; didn't want to redownload!
This new app/service is a winner in my book.

Dude, Galaxy has Samsung Dive which is similiar to this. But it only works on Touchwiz ROMs though.

Hey, I'm all lady - monthly and all!! Thanks, though, I have this one (the one I thought I lost) on actual stock so maybe I can do some Sammy Dive-ing; the one I "lost" about 4 months ago is rooted so that one needs a different solution, something less official. I probably will "lose" this one again before the Note 3 gets released. Whatever I do, it can't backfire so I must proceed with caution.

About freaking time! The only feature I missed since using Nexus 4 is the Samsung Dive feature. Why didn't they do this this like long ago? Even WP 8 had this natively since God knows when.

Feds: "So Google, we need a way to track users easier."
Google: "No problem, we can fix that."
Feds: "But we dont want people to know that were tracking them."
Google: "No problem, we can do that."
Feds: "People are getting wise to having to click links, open files or installing apps that dont come from the Play store, so they need to install it without us having to initiate it."
Google: "No problem, we can make sure they install it."
Feds: "How will you do this?"
Google: "We will put out an app to make the user feel empowered over their own device with a backdoor you can use to secretly monitor and or control the device and they will install it thinking their protecting their own device."
