Android 7.0 update rolling out now for Sprint's HTC 10

7comments
Sprint subscribers with the HTC 10 are starting to receive the update to Android 7.0. The new software version  (2.42.651.6) weighs in at 1.3GB and is being pushed out OTA. If you receive the notification for your Sprint branded HTC 10, make sure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network before starting the updating process. In addition, your battery should be charged to 100% before you begin downloading and installing Android 7.0.

The update includes features such as multi-screen, which allows you to use two apps side-by-side at the same time. There is the enhanced version of Doze, which helps extend standby time by shutting down apps when the handset is not in use. Also, the update adds the latest emoji thanks to the inclusion of Unicode 9.0. With the update, you can customize Quick Settings and send a Reply through Notifications. With seamless updates, the latest build of Android loads in the background and loads automatically the first time you boot up your phone. Besides Android 7.0, the update includes some system enhancements.

Lastly, we should point out that the update is being sent out on a staggered basis. That means that your neighbor's HTC 10 might receive Android 7.0 today while your phone is still stuck on Marshmallow. If you do not receive the notification today, there is no need to call Sprint and start yelling. Simply be patient and before you know it, your handset will be rocking Android 7.0.

Thanks for sending this in!
